I cannot recommend this business! I bought wood from them year after year for about 6 years and put up w the fact that it was never seasoned or ready to burn as advertised. The final straw was this year when I accidentally ordered a 1/4 instead of 1/2 rack. Dawn told me they would have to deliver another 1/4 on a different day but that it would cost an additional $275 for a total of $550 for a half cord of wood. have been a loyal customer for years and even referred my real estate clients to this business but can no longer do so! Their 1/2 cord price is $350 and all I wanted was to be given thaat price plus an additional delivery fee. NOPE, dawn said $550 plus another delivery fee!! I ordered a 1/2 cord of pecan wood for my smoker. The delivery came and all seemed well. However, after looking at the wood it all had mold on every piece. Since this was supposed to be used to cook meat it is very apparent that this product cannot be used for that. As you see in the pictures the mold is very dense and makes the wood completely unusable. I messaged and called the owner Chris and Dawn on both phone numbers and let them know of this horrible product they sent. They never responded or answered my calls. This company should be ashamed of the product and service they deliver. I hope this review makes you chose any other wood company in the area so you are not subject to this rip-off. **** UPDATE **** As you can see this owner still has not faced facts about the trash wood he sells. We had wood delivered this morning and it was quick and painless. The wood looks great and Dawn and Chris walked it all the way to our backyard and stacked it!! They were very nice people. The price was good compared to most we checked and got good seasoned wood. We checked prices and could not find ANY at a better price. They were here when they said they would be here and it was a great experience. We paid $400 last year for very bad wood. They will be our go to wood delivery from now on!! We've been buying firewood from Chris for 10 years (since 2012). I've always received quality, clean, seasoned oak or other cooking woods. Most of my use is in out fire pit or fireplace. He has also sold me 7 of his firewood racks which are of wonderful quality. We keep a short list of quality local businesses that we've done support... Put in an email on an outdated website that honestly had me concerned they were no longer in business and did not hear back for almost 48 hours in which time my husband worked out something with another company so I then cancelled with Mr. Firewood. Well that company then no-shows and I re-schedule. Dawn texts ok that will put me on the list again... Three days pass and I get a tersely worded text that they won't be serving us ever because we previously canceled?? What ?! You knew that - why not tell me that THREE DAYS AGO. After that she stops texting all together. Like I have no ability to even apologize and restore arrangements made. Rude, random, piss poor business practices. I have not once dealt with any firewood delivery that communicates timely or shows up when they say they will since I came to Texas. So if you are a functioning firewood delivery company hit me up. I tip well to people who can run a business without butt-hurt. If you use Mr. Firewood tread lightly Chris and Dawn are sensitive I suppose. And I like would add that they are significantly more expensive than most but that is moot point if no one actually delivers said product. On the day of delivery, the exact day of delivery, I was told by Dawn that the stars were sitting on a ship off the coast of CA and she promised that they would come back out and install them when they arrive. The owner's response is only partially correct. The only part correct is that I got a full refund and was given the wood. All else is grossly misrepresented, to put it as kindly as possible. Went with Mr. Firewood because reviews and apparently being BBB accredited. We had good luck with them in 2018, the wood was generally well seasoned. Received another half cord in 2019 and had issues with the wood. It didn't start well, did not burn clean and often was left with chunks at the end of the burn. Reached out and was told that Chris would contact me, a week went by with no follow-up. Tried again with no response, followed up again later via phone and text and finally received a text back about how I am not burning it correctly and gave me tips. After receiving the text I purchased a moisture meter and tested the wood. There was some wood that tested below 20% but most of it tested at 30% and some up to 50%. This is the issue. I reached out to them again and received no response. Did additional investigation and found out that they are not BBB accredited. Reached out to the BBB and they said they were receiving no response at trying to have Chris remove the logo from his website. Stay away from Mr. Firewood, stating that they are BBB accredited is only the tip of the iceberg. read more

Loved that they deliver and they made us a custom sized log holder that fits perfectly. Had a very bad experience with retail outfit on 380 in McKinney. Sold us green wood (not aged) and all logs only smoked/blackened. They wouldn't even replace the bad batch. Found "Mr Firewood" and will use them from now on. read more

I gave Mr Firewood several opportunities to make this right, but they blamed the bad wood on my lack of fire building skills. I have bought several orders from them in the past with no issues. In fact I have recommended them to friends. I am known by family and friends to be somewhat of a piro. I've been making fires for close to 50 years. The 1/2 cord I purchased 4 months ago still won't burn today, even when a log or 2 is placed on top of a raging fire (made with the last of my older wood). The email I first sent went unanswered. Followup texts were met with responses that I lack fire building skills. The wood delivered is green, maybe I can burn it next year. Spoke to a very nice female who quoted me $25 off if I went and picked it up myself I went to go meet Juan at the yard and he would not honor the price quoted. Don't waste your time or expect bait a switch. Called back nice lady to let her know what Juan did to me. She was nice but offer s zero resolution however she did at least apologize and said that Juan worked for them for 15 years. So this has been likely going on for over a decade or maybe Juan was just short Christmas shopping cash. That's right if you pick up yourself it's cash only. Go figure. So happy with these folks. Expected wood delivery on promised day. Dawn called the day before to let us know the intense rains in Denton County made it impossible to get to the wood and it was wet. Set another day and it was here at the exact time they told us. I tried Mr Firewood for the first time last year. Not only did the delivery guys stack the firewood unevenly, causing my rack to lean against the back wall, but the wood was so wet and heavy that it wouldn't burn unless I kept the gas on. I allowed the wood to season over the summer, and was finally able to burn it this year. Won't use these guys again. read more

I have used Mr Firewood for three years - the first two years was perfect. This year the customer service and the quality of the wood has taken a major step backwards. He was scheduled to deliver the Friday after Thanksgiving, he didn't show - when I called I was told they had cancelled deliveries because the wood would be wet - when I mentioned a call would have been nice he became down right rude. When they finally delivered the wood - I was told it was seasoned and dry. The wood is so wet you can hear steam escaping when you "TRY" to burn it. I have a gas starter on the fireplace and have to keep it on in order to try to burn the wood. Extremely disappointed - not sure I will go back even after two previous years of good service. read more
