A tall, bald, light skinned male was not friendly at all! He yelled from outside of the business to my husband and I to move our bottles to the one side. We thought he was a customer for we had never seen him before, we proceeded to fill out four bottles of water and ignored him. He then demanded that we move our bottles to the other side because someone else was coming. We thought that they were all the same so we moved to the right side. In a booming voice he commanded that we move to the other side, "that's alkaline water!" My husband was very upset at the lack of courteous, friendly, and serviceable tone and person he was. (I am very appalled at his behavior, especially because there was an elementary aged child working as the cashier) --talk about illegal child labor. I proceeded to go the child to pay for my bottles with my bag of quarters. (Note: I have always paid with quarters or cash) the child was unsure of the amount of gallons and asked the tall, bald, light skinned male for reassurance. He guided her and said total was "$9.60" As soon as I started taking out my quarters, he loudly demanded I pay with my card because that's too much change and it's a hassle to count every day all the change. I told him, I have always paid with cash and there has never been a problem before. he refused to take my cash, but I continued to count stacks of quarters on the counter. He rebuttled and let me tell you, I got upset. I responded in the same manner he was addressing me (not very nicely)--and I told him, look money is money. He said, oh yeah money is money to some people, but.." I cut him off, "you want my business or not? I can take my business elsewhere." with a smart a** answer he said, "that's your choice." I was appalled! I said, "Fine. I'll write a review. And I'm never coming back again!" He shut up real quick. Accepted my money. gave me my change. Some of the plumbers that come out for work aren't honest either and try to fear-monger you to make a quick decision. It took several call outs for us to notice the pattern of some of the plumbers being brazen about lying outright and misinforming us about issues in an attempt to pad their invoices. One of the most brazen lies was that we had a CO leak -- but they didn't know we had 2 other plumbing companies come out at the same time to inspect and give their quotes and they both said this company was lying. They failed to identify the root cause of the problem while other plumbers were capable of easily identifying the fix in their initial assessment. I do not recommend this company.

However, the company's response later changed our perspective. When I called about the new leak, Carrie (their scheduling lady) answered immediately and arranged for a same-day appointment within just three hours. Technician Rafael arrived ahead of schedule and quickly identified that a joint section of piping had worn out. He efficiently replaced the damaged section, and the repair has held up well since then. Additional positives worth noting: 1. Their pricing of the first service visit to fix clogging was reasonable among licensed plumbers (I always prefer using licensed contractors). 2. They didn't charge for the second service visit to replace the worn out part. 3. Carrie's responsiveness made rebooking effortless. 4. Rafael demonstrated solid expertise and professionalism. While we were unhappy about needing a second repair, New Pipes' outstanding customer service, skilled workmanship, and fair pricing ultimately earned our trust. Day 1, worked a few hours, realized it was awesome and signed on the spot to grab one of the last available spaces. What was the clincher? Just quiet, professional neighbors. BEAUTIFUL central skylight of endless natural light--it's so beautiful. Natural light is far superior to fluorescence, your brain will thank you. Also, Trader Joe's downstairs. Bruh, 'nuff said. Maybe I'm getting old (OH NO, I'm an adult...new sponges and Trader Joe's commute times matter..). Samatha, the manager was really accommodating and took care of us.
