So, let me start by saying, that as a person, I liked Neshat Muka. He was a nice guy... soft…read morespoken, low stress, and quite fair and reasonable in his pricing. But in the end, he was just not the contractor I needed for this project. Towards the end he came down with a serious case of "not-my-job-itis". Sealing the edges of the bathroom counter?? Not my job man, that's the countertop guy. Fixing the garbage unit on my cabinet? Not my job man, that's the cabinet guy. Fixing the poorly tiled edges of the kitchen floor? No my job man, that's the tile guy. Patch the wood flooring that got torn up? Not my job. Painting? Not my job. Not my job. Not my job. I should mention at this point that all these other guys he's talking about, are all his guys. Everyone knows that renovations are stressful. But at the end of a job, you at least hope to look at the finished product and feel good about it. Instead, with it 90% done, I feel like he just walked away without finishing all the details, leaving me looking at my unfinished reno and feeling frustrated and helpless. So, if you want a true general contractor to handle a reno, look elsewhere. Muka Interiors is not it. He'd probably be fine at small jobs that don't require a lot of coordination or attention to detail.

Meeting her wasn't like meeting a new vendor, but more like gaining a new friend. We decided on Halina as she provided the most flexible option in terms of choosing our own materials, and she is extremely careful with giving a detailed quote so that the client can see the complete breakdown. Halina helped us with a full kitchen and bathroom renovation. We had a modern kitchen but hated the look. I showed her my Pinterest board which she immediately understood my vision. She brought in an amazing cabinet maker (millworker) who did fabulous custom cabinets for us. I am an avid baker and cook and wanted the small kitchen to be as functional as possible. Halina accommodated with bringing in the millworker who mapped out our entire space for maximum efficiency. This included pull out spice cabinets, utensil cabinets, toe kick and pull out trash bin. We had a custom color sprayed on the lower cabinets and they look and function beautifully; with soft closing drawers and inlay cabinet doors. The bathroom was definitely a complete overhaul. We did a bathtub to shower conversion with hexagon tile flooring, subway tile walls. Halina made sure that all the plumbing was good to go, and while this was a slightly difficult process for us to live without running water for a little bit, the end result is well worth it! We have a beautiful bathroom that makes me feel like I am at a resort every day. The tile work is very well done. As far as change orders, Halina doesn't start anything without asking us. We had a few things that we wanted to change that were on our part - and the prices were fairly reasonable. What we paid at the end was very close to what we were quoted in the beginning. Overall, we are extremely thrilled with our renovation from Aspiro Renovations. Halina's dedication to excellence and continued support is (she has helped us even after the renovation is over) is much appreciated.

I spoke with 6 or 7 contractors before, gratefully, finding Aspiro. Halina's bid was markedly below the other companies. Bringing a sophisticated design sense, and allowing me to choose and order my own materials was a winning partnership that saved money further and created a beautiful end result. Additionally, it should be highlighted that working with a woman contractor brought novel benefits, like attention to detail, emphasis on candid communication to quickly address issues, and a warm collaborative spirit. There was no loss of skill as Halina and her crew are extremely knowledgeable in all areas of construction, engineering and in the trades necessary for renovations. I highly recommend Aspiro for any project big to small--amazing results, at a fair price, while staying sane!
