Horrible!! Would give no star if that was option. General Tso chicken cold and hard. Teriyaki chicken burnt, and tuna tataki was a total disappointment for $9....should known better. $40 on online order already paid online and they were tacky and cheap enough to ask for $2 more when my husband got there because I asked for fried rice instead of white with inedible chicken. I would have never served food like that to anyone. First impressions are lasting. Lesson learned...no repeat visit from us. Waste of money and definitely left bad taste in my mouth. read more

Foods always been good! I actually prefer their wontons over jiangs and hunans ! When they first opened it took FOREVER to get your food but their well up and going now, I would recommend to anyone! Yum yum! Also, their store is SPOTLESS and the front clerk is a sweetie. read more

This is a family operation designed for take out but they have a few tables for customers. Egg Foo Young - One of the best I have ever had. Sauce was average. Moo Shu Shrimp - very good and loaded with shrimp. They used egg roll vice pancake wraps and they don't hold up well with this meal. Everyone I know goes out of their way to order and pick up from Mr. Chen. So much so that people at work have flat out refused to eat Chinese food "if it's not from Mr. Chen." The food is not as salty as their competitor, but it is more tasty. They've never gotten my order wrong and they have never made me wait past the time frame they gave me when I placed my order. I want to say Mr Chens is such a consistent place. We have never been disappointed with the food here. I tried to Eat24 online order and I loved this feature. It so easy and you can make changes to your order .. i.e. add tuna to roll. Only snafu was they had a new girl in the front who didn't notice the order come in so I had to wait a few extra minutes, but once again the food was fresh and good. read more

Ordered online and picked it up! The sushi was surprisingly good and I got pan fried dumplings that were really good. They remind me of Yums dumplings! I love it. The sushi was pretty good for as cheap as it was, but I did Only get a salmon skin roll, a California rolls and a a spicy tuna roll. Super good! The egg rolls though were meh. read more

I've called in an order here twice and both times my sushi wasn't ready. Though these people are nice, it's really inconvenient when having to wait for them to make it. You would think 25 mins would be enough time for them to make it but the guy and lady forgets about it until I come to pick it up with the rest of my food. So by the time I get home my hot food is now cold because my wait time was doubled. Today I called in for sushi and she told me that the rice will be 30 mins, I just called back (25 mins later) to put in an order and she tells me the rice will be ready in 25 mins... Again my time wait was doubled. Moral of the story, grab sushi somewhere else. read more

Mr. Chen's food is the best in Pensacola so far. You can tell they make their food with some love. It reminds me of Nee York Chinese food which is always good. I especially love that they ensure the shrimp is nice and cleaned. They definitely take pride in their cooking and the chicken wings are really good! I finally stopped and decided to try this place. I was hoping it would be great but was sadly disappointed to say the least. I decided to try the classic chicken & broccoli and the fried cheese wantons. The chicken was dry to say the least. It was cooked and recooked until there was almost nothing left. The sauce was very bland and didn't even notice it was there really. No flavor at all really. The wantons were beyond over fried. So crunchy to say the least. There was someone in there rolling sushi and I got the avocado and cucumber roll, with pickled ginger and wasabi on the side. It was very good. Also got the fried rice with veges and it was tasty too. I didn't even need soy sauce. The prices are great and the service fast and friendly. This is THE place for chinese in P'cola. I haven't found a better place in the year I've been here. Haven't had a bad meal, prices are great, and most importantly, their fried rice is real, not the nasty yellow kind with frozen peas and carrots most places around here serve. Been here a couple of times since it's in my neighborhood. Very satisfying to find Chinese not buffet style. Very good hot-and-sour (my personal criterion for Chinese). Haven't tried to the sushi, and probably wouldn't from a place like this, but the Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, Shrimp and Veg., White Rice and Chow Mein are top quality. Mr. Chen's is a regular Chinese takeout restaurant. It was average. The beef lo mein had a small amount of beef and a few veggies like green onions and a very few carrots. It was pleasantly seasoned. But I probably won't return. read more

Mr. Chen's food is fabulous, and portions are generous. I order from there at least once a week and have always been pleased with my order. The restaurant is spotless. Prices are reasonable.
