When they inevitably can't do the job in the time frame given to them, you are then forced to pay an additional fee. I was given a quote of $1,800 to move a 2 bd home from East Lansing to Chicago. After I called to let them know that I had a lot of books and thought the quote was too low, the owner raised it to $2,000 without ever coming to see my things. On the day of the move, they only sent two guys, who worked extremely hard to try to load everything within the time window. Unfortunately, once they got to Chicago, their Ryder truck was too tall to clear under the El tracks, so they spent several hours driving around looking for another way to get to my neighborhood. By the time they were done unloading, it was 11pm, and I was charged an additional $1,400 above the original quote, plus I paid the guys a good tip for all their hard work. I should note, I was not provided with any kind of contract in advance and was asked to pay the flat rate prior to booking. That and the low bid should have alerted me that something was off. I also think the company should have been able to find a truck-friendly route in advance, since they had the destination address. I should not have been forced to pay $1,400 extra for the fact that they used a super tall rental truck and didn't use a trucker-friendly route. In summary, I ended up paying pretty much what I expected, but the whole situation was a poorly planned bait and switch that made for an extremely stressful move. I do not recommend using this company for any kind of interstate move.

I have nothing but nice things to say about everyone from this organization I spoke to and worked with. I had to call multiple times the morning of my move after multiple confirmations prior. They told me they had no move prior to me that day and showed up with a rented truck and very few pads to wrap my furniture, which were requested in advance multiple times prior to my move. The owner was the only effective mover. He brought two others workers and I literally ran circles around one of them, as he put his monster energy drink on my antique furniture multiple times. It was very frustrating to watch the crew move my items, bumping into walls, set drinks on my furniture and not wrap my furniture, as requested prior to moving items. I had much better success with the big companies that are local movers. The prices were also better with other moving companies. When they went to close out my transaction at the end of my move, they forgot about my $100 initial deposit as well as miscommunicated the dollar amount giving me multiple prices. I will not use this company again and was not pleased with my experience.

We hired someone to come in and pack our loved one's belongings, only to find out after we opened the boxes months later that they literally put one or two small items and a TON of craft paper wraps in the boxes... because they charge by the box, we OVERPAID terribly! I would NOT RECOMMEND this business to anyone!

At the time of my move I was totally stressed out. My husband was flat on his back and was not able to do anything. I had had College Hunks for a pre-pack that was about Liz the owner sold me on using her moving service. She and her husband assured me that the electronics -TV computer and related electronics would be all set up. I asked if the connections could be color coded. She said definitely. 3 months later they aren't ! I paid for an unpack. Things I needed unpacked I'm getting unpacked. Workers literally dumped every tool into one kitchen drawer. Boxes were unpacked that had DO NOT UNPACK! Books were suppose to be put downstairs Our pottery collection was suppose to be put on shelves in the garage. The pottery was unpacked and put on bookshelves. Books are in the garage. Today I finally unpacked a microwave bowl that I've needed. This is a third of what went south. I found the Christmas lights but ornaments. It's very frustrating. A 4th day was added with two unpackers and 2 movers This was a worthless day.
