We originally stayed at the Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront while in town for a music festival. Although we experienced some issues with the air conditioning in our room, I'm honestly almost glad it happened--because it gave us the opportunity to meet Brittany. Brittany was absolutely amazing. She was warm, personable, attentive, and genuinely cared about making things right. She recognized my Marriott loyalty, followed up personally after our stay, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another reservation. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. The true measure of a hotel isn't whether everything goes perfectly--it's how the team responds when it doesn't. Brittany and the entire Moxy staff went above and beyond. Their exceptional hospitality made such an impression on us that we have already returned a couple of times. We were so confident in the experience they provide that we also gifted our daughter and her husband a weekend at the Moxy for their anniversary. Our daughter had not been able to get away since having her baby, so this trip meant a great deal to her. Brittany, Meghan, and the staff took amazing care of them and helped make their weekend truly special. They had an incredible time in Virginia Beach, and knowing they were in such caring hands meant the world to us. The Moxy has a fun atmosphere, a fantastic oceanfront location, and, most importantly, a staff that genuinely cares about its guests. The hotel and its wonderful team are truly a reflection of Brittany's warmth, leadership, and commitment to hospitality. She is an incredible ambassador for both the Moxy and the Marriott brand. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will absolutely continue coming back! read more

I am a Marriott Girl! Hands down! I actually have stayed at a few Moxy's before and loved the whole art deco minimalist vibe. However, I was really not feeling the Va Beach location. The hotel is nice! That was not the issue. The hotel amenities were just small. The pool was super small and with the amount of kids there it was almost like a kids school function or daycare. Then the dogs....I love cute little doggies. But traveling with your animal to vacay is weird to me. It's also gross to smell dog when you get in your room or in the halls. There were so many doggies on vacation with their owners and they'd leave them in the room while they ventured. It was odd. Walking to our room we got barked at, then like a domino effect, the entire doggie day care hall was barking to each other. The view was great! Beds were eh, but I learned that Va Beach is not where you go for a real princess vacay getaway. The room rate was 500$ a night for an ocean view. Now, I have no problem spending that on a room but if you're going to spend that amount per night might as well go somewhere nicer, with better beaches (blue ones), and a real resort. The view is nice but for the price, no. Not after being all over the world this summer at places much nicer and just as expensive, his money could go elsewhere. This past weekend, Aug 14-17, we learned that room rate sky rocket for a last minute getaway and likely were just as high even if we booked earlier. Wouldn't do book last minute ever again and likely would never come back to Va Beach. Staff were friendly. Cute hotel just way too many kids and pets. Plus beds were okay but not the fluffy beds at other Marriott locations. read more

What a lovely oceanfront hotel! Check-in was smooth and valet parking made parking easy. The hotel is dog-friendly and steps away from the boardwalk. I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! read more

Overall, we had a wonderful three night stay at the Moxy Oceanfront. We selected this spot because it was dog-friendly and relatively cheaper (with decent reviews) compared to other pet-friendly hotels on the boardwalk. Our three-night stay in March, which was booked in November, was about $250 per night. Although there was a half marathon happening in the area, I think our rate (booked through a 3rd party) was on the lower end because March is still considered the off season. The hotel itself is quite modern compared to the other more dated hotels in the area. It definitely is geared to younger crowd (20s-30s) because of design, layout, the amount of video games, the bar with snazzy cocktails, and of course an indoor slide that goes from the 2nd to the 1st floor. For our purposes, I thought our room was fine for two adults and a dog. Compared to other places I have stayed, the room was a bit small. However, we're the type of people who only use the room for sleeping so not having a huge amount of space is not a deal breaker for us. Although our room had a partial ocean view (on the south side of the building), the view was still impressive. My spouse did have a minor complaint in that the rooms did not have a dresser or a closet, but the room has plenty of hooks/hangers where you can hang your things along the walls. Although the hotel is not in the "central" area of the boardwalk (around 21st street), it is still located in a nice section of the boardwalk that is walking distance to a wide array of restaurants, bars and other attractions. For example, the hotel is next door to the Wildfowl Museum. ;) Valet is about 11 bucks per night. In general, there were no major issues with valet services. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue in that the hotel overbooked valet parking due to an event it was hosting. However, that situation did not affect us too much with the exception of a slightly longer than normal wait. Everyone on the staff with whom I interacted were friendly and very professional. Also, I thought the cleaning crew did a great job with maintaining the hotel. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, I did not smell old/wet dog/cat odors in the common areas or hallways. If we decided to stay on the Oceanfront, we definitely will keep the Moxy in consideration. read more

We stayed at the Moxy for my birthday. My daughter planned everything. So when we got there I was surprised by the vibe downstairs. It's very modern, retro, fun. There's games, a slide, a bar, a diner, and a small store. There's valet parking for a fee, otherwise you'd have to pay for parking elsewhere. They have carts to take your bags upstairs, but it was a little bit of a wait. The staff was nice, and the gentleman that helped us upgrade our room because we needed two beds, was really helpful. You're given a free drink token at check-in for a free glass of wine, fountain drink, or juice. There's a cool slide you can ride from the second floor. I'm a plus size lady so I wasn't trying to slide down with too much momentum and end up in the bar, like Rasputsia off the movie Norbit!! Lol. But I was curious because it's different and looked fun. There's several seating areas and the bar was pretty busy. But we were helped right away. Now my first wtf moment was the Shakey elevator. We rode down 7 floors and I sincerely thought we may not make it. It was more than a light shake, it was enough to make you anxious. But it only happened in one elevator. Once we got off the elevator sh*t got sketchy. The walls are painted hunter green with the same color carpet. It was very dark feeling with minimal lighting. Horror movie kinda vibes at night. It definitely wasn't like downstairs. This hotel allows dogs so, the carpets were a little nasty in some areas as well. The room made me giggle a little, it's not a typical hotel. You get minimal amenities in your room. Maybe like the idea of an Aloft hotel room. The double beds are facing each other. Since we were facing each other, foot to foot, I felt the need to talk more than I wanted to. Lol. The room is small, the bathroom was tiny but nice. It was a modern shower with a door that had soap and body wash, and it was nice looking. The rolling door barn door on the bathroom wouldn't stay closed. Everytime we tried closing it, it rolled right back open all the way. There was NO privacy in the bathroom all night. I was scared to pass gas because I feel the whole hotel would hear, not to mention the other person in my room!! Lol. Sorry for the TMI moment, but it's proving my point. The sink is outside of the bathroom and it's a little small. There are no closets or night stands. But there are drawers under the bed, and a 100 hooks to hang your clothes or purse on the wall. The balcony was my favorite part. It was a good size with great views and the sound of the ocean was awesome!! That kinda made up for the weird room. There was a fridge but no microwave. Also if the balcony door is open it automatically shuts off the air conditioner. The beds were cozy, I looked over the bed and thought it was fine when we first arrived, because it wasn't a lot of light to see. But when I woke up and looked at the pillows I found a huge brownish colored stain on my pillow and a dried bloody booger!!! Omg!! My soul was shooketh. I had a mini meltdown. You couldn't see any of that at night. There's also no coffee in the room, since there's a coffee shop/diner downstairs. Theres a closet in each hallway with irons, towels, soap, and whatnot that you can get on your own. There's also an ice machine, but no ice buckets in the room. I was confused by that. The outdoor area is pretty nice and there's an outdoor pool. It's plenty of seating and right on the beach. The hotel was nice in some areas but lacking in others. Please understand this is for minimalist, or people who don't mind a compact room or don't plan on staying in the room alot. It got the job done. But a few things let me down. I'd stay again to see if I'd change my mind about how I feel. It's cute!! Check them out. read more

I stayed here for the Neptune. The place is very Kool. It is small, but nice. I would stay here again. The staff was very friendly.

This Moxy, like the other two I've stayed in, has a super fun vibe with great staff. Staff, including the valet, were so friendly and helpful. They also showed up quickly when I asked for more towels and pillows. I love the lobby. It's great for lounging, has a bar, a patio, and a slide that starts at the second floor, so you can slide into the lobby. Plus, they have pinball and Zoltar. Who doesn't love Zoltar? We ordered an espresso martini and an old-fashioned at the lobby bar. The old-fashioned wasn't great but the espresso martini was fantastic. The drinks you can get with a token are uninspiring--my partner ordered one and it was not great. Breakfast at the attached diner was good and there is a snack bar in the lobby, but no other food options. In the evening, there was a DJ and the doors to the patio were open for a breeze. Vibes were 100. I think the rooms are great for a solo traveler. There are a ton of pegs on the wall, which is so helpful. The bed is comfy and the shower is fantastic. And you cannot beat the balcony views. However, it was not super clean. My pillow was very stained and I'm not sure how that was missed. The balcony furniture had never been wiped down. And the paint in the room is peeling and the wall behind the door was covered in black scuffs. One of the elevators shakes way too much for my taste. We went to the pool the morning after we arrived. The pool deck had not been cleaned. It was littered with towels, trash, and food. The deck and in-pool chairs are stained and dirty. The pool itself was filthy. It needed a vacuum, a skim, pH/chlorine testing (water chemistry), and a likely a better filtration system. Guests should have never been allowed to the pool until staff had performed pool maintenance. That is unacceptable and makes this a no-return hotel for me. read more

Moxy is the most! It's fun, it's upbeat, it's cool, and it's sexy--ALL AT THE SAME TIME! We came expressly for the drinks--and we were not disappointed. Our mixologist, Candi knew her craft. She created a LEMONY WHIPPET for me--yes. A play in the book. My husband had a smoked pineapple old fashioned and simply put, it was CHEF'S KISS! It was our first visit, but we just found OUR SPOT! read more

They did a great job with this property. The vibe throughout the Moxy was on point and tied itself to VA Beach really well! The property was clean, orderly and the room was amazing! I highly recommend staying here when visiting VA Beach. The staff was friendly and parking is valet only which I recommend considering price of self parking on your own. read more

This hotel is certainly modern, and likely for a specific clientele. Marriott has forsaken essentials--mini fridge, microwave, and dresser drawers (yes, there are no dressers)--for non-essentials (two very impractical "chairs" and a small mushroom side table upon which sat a rotary phone taking up the entire space. When on vacation, we don't want to live out of our suitcases. There were also only two hangers on the 20+ pegs along the wall. There was also no body wash in the shower. Generally, it was clean and the bed comfortable. But we were really disappointed with the choices Marriott made with this hotel. read more

***2 1/2 stars*** Boy, was this bizarre. Let me start off by saying I am 100% NOT the target demo for this hotel, as I am not a drunk 24 year old; if I were, I think this would have been an absolute delight. But as an adult on a business trip? Eh. Maybe I should have put a little more thought into this choice. I stayed overnight this past Tuesday, which was in early to mid-November. So right off the bat, I'm not here at one of the better times of the year in VA Beach or for this hotel. It was pretty nippy and the town itself was kind of depressing with tons of temporary business closures, which is what you'd expect from a summer tourist destination. Not the Moxy's fault, and the hotel overall probably would have felt more comfortable in July. As soon as I walked in, I knew it wasn't the best fit - there's literally video games and that Zoltar fortune telling machine right by the entrance on the right, which is something you'd expect on the boardwalk right off the beach, just...not at the actual hotel. On the lefthand side? Oh, just a SLIDE. A literal slide that you can take from the second floor gym/rec area. (Full disclosure - I did utilize it the following morning on my way out just to check off that box. It was fine; I'm probably the first person to use it at 8am, but no matter.) The woman at the check-in was very nice and provided a token for a welcome drink at the island bar, which was 10 feet away. THAT'S a really cool touch no matter who you're targeting. I unfortunately didn't utilize said token because of an excellent Old-Fashioned I had down the street at Repeal. It's important to sort of behave on a Tuesday. By far the biggest area for improvement is the rooms themselves. I've never seen anything like this, and I was genuinely surprised to see that the issue I encountered is one that the hotel is not only aware of, but actually HIGHLIGHTS as a selling point. I've attached a few photos of the room for perspective; the lack of basic furniture in here is stunning - I literally had to put my eyeglasses on the other side of the bed propped on a pillow because I didn't have even a nominal night stand for them. There's a very cheap/fold up desk that I utilized to get a bit of work done in the morning on my laptop, but that wasn't great either since it was accompanied by a backless canvas chair that was more akin to a beach chair than an office chair. Beyond that? A sink with a little space for a toothbrush. That's it. What a strange decision. And you can see in the room that tons of space and electrical outlets just aren't being utilized - not even a basic dresser or anything. You know what they have tons of though? Coat pegs. Twenty-four of them. I counted. I used two of them. The hotel categorizes this as "cozy," and says that it's an intentional decision to prompt people to leave their hotel rooms to basically socialize in the common areas downstairs. What? So to recap, Moxy intentionally makes their rooms uncomfortable so you won't want to be in them. That's a new one for me. Marriott Corporate - any thoughts? Beyond that, the hallway carpeting throughout the hotel is noticeably worn and stained so even when you walk out of your hotel room, it's not much of a win. The price point is very decent though I don't know that they'd be able to justify a higher cost in the offseason for what's clearly not a hardcore bougie hotel. The amenities downstairs ARE decent for what they're worth, and there's an argument they're worth promoting - I just don't think it should be at the direct expense of the individual rooms. The lobby/main area has a lot of comfortable cool furniture with a view of the pool and parts of the beach, with easy access to same. I did have trouble getting back in upon investigating that area though; the instructions on the gates/entryways said to come back in using the room card but it didn't work so I had to walk all the way around the building to the main entrance in the front. And again, it was nippy. I think they ultimately mean well here but unless I'm time traveling back to an era where I was willing to drink Malibu Rum, this is probably a first time, last time situation. read more

Moxy is a cute eclectic hotel within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. I believe this was my first stay at a Moxy. I was warmly greet by the front desk staff and given two poker chips for a drink for me and my plus 1 at the bar. There's definitely a fun vibe when you enter with pinball and other video games available to play. There is also a variety of other board games available if you ask the front desk staff. I came in the off season so it was a bit quiet which I absolutely did not mind, but I imagine during the busy season this place is probably buzzing with guests due to its fun vibes, affordability and close proximity to the beach. The room was spacious, with a comfy bed, cute lounge chairs, and a tv where I could stream from my own streaming accounts just as if I were at home. Every staff member was very friendly. I had dinner the night I checked in and the menu prices are very practical! There's an attached diner that serves really great breakfast too. Easy check in/check out and valet parking option which is necessary during peak season. read more

I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days a little over two weeks ago. When I checked in, I was informed that a $100 hold would be placed on my credit card. However, instead of a temporary hold, my card was actually charged. Since then, I have spoken with multiple staff members as well as Marriott customer service, but to date I have not received a refund. If you choose to stay here, I recommend checking your account carefully after checkout to ensure any holds have been handled correctly. read more

What a fun hotel! My mother and I stayed here on our most recent trip to visit my brother. We got a king room with a balcony. The room is simplistic and minimalist but clean and cool. Having an ocean front balcony was wonderful. All the staff were helpful and friendly. There's no coffee machines in the rooms but we didn't mind going to lobby to get coffee/tea. They also give you each a free drink token at check in which was a nice touch. The lobby has plenty of seating, foosball, shuffle board, and a slide. My brother came over for a little and played shuffle board with us which was really fun. One downside was it was valet only parking. 11 dollars a night isn't bad but having to go to the attendant each time you needed to leave was not ideal but fine. Will definitely stay here next time I visit my brother l. read more

Small rooms. Would not stay unless alone. Staff was friendly but there are better options in the area.

We just enjoyed the lobby activities which were very entertaining & fun! We spoke to the valet guy and he was really nice and welcoming. I really wanted to ride the slide but I didn't have the proper wardrobe on. My cousin was able to enjoy it and he went down twice. That slide has some serious speeds To provide some insight, he had some long shorts on. Afterwards he said he felt like he was wearing some daisy dukes. haha.. In the lobby is a cool Zoltar fortune telling machine like the one in "Big." A few games are available for play. There's a bar downstairs as well. They have a nice backdrop with " VA BEACH" on the wall for photo ops. It's a welcoming and fun, hip place to hang. We played tabletop shuffle board, and the bar hook & ring game. Because this hotel is oceanfront side the drinks are going to run high. It was a nice place to check out and hang. read more

We really enjoyed our overnight stay here. It was on a Thursday night in December so in the off season for Virginia Beach. The Moxy has such a fun youthful vibe. We really enjoyed hanging out on the first floor where there are plenty of comfortable seating areas with games around such as Jenga, shut the box, foosball, ring toss, and more. There is a giant slide in the lobby area if you are feeling adventurous. Check in is super easy at the bar. You also get drink tokens upon your arrival which was nice. We put our bags up in the room and came back down to the bar to enjoy the space. The room was just what we needed. Simple, modern, and practical. We had a king sized bed with an oceanfront balcony. View was very nice. The Belvedere South is connected to the hotel so I would definitely recommend hitting them up for breakfast in the morning. Valet service was quick and easy. The hotel rooms/hallways seemed a bit run down and not well taken care of. I imagine the demographics of guests are younger as that's what the model of the hotel and aesthetics cater to. The room was subpar for the price. The decor was fun with bare amenities. The sink drain was broken and I had to lift it out to let the water drain. The ocean front balcony was nice and relaxing but surrounded by bugs/webs. Bar was nice and the bang bang shrimp was the best part of my experience. Lightly battered and flavorful. The pool was not heated as stated and was not clean. Overall, I will stay at another hotel my next visit. Valet was nice and there were decent food options nearby. read more

I admit - I was impressed by Moxy when we visited the new bar area for some light snacks and to hang out for a few hours with friends last Friday. This hotel is very hip and has a cool vibe. You check in for your stay at the bar area - which is, a bar - so it's also where you'd come to order drinks or food. The gals working were a fun group and we easily conversed with them and watched them make some HUGE flatbreads. The lobby is very industrial and modern feeling with black metal open loft stairs leading to an upstairs area with a fooseball table and a small computer area. The main lobby has a large bar area in the center, a grab-n-go area with sundries and snacks, and two large sitting areas for hanging out one of which has a shuffleboard table. The Belvedere has been re-opened and relocated here and is a vintage diner-like breakfast place with about 15 tables/booths. Haven't tried it yet but it looks pretty good if you like standard breakfast fare. The pool area is beautiful and it's directly on the oceanfront so you can walk out past the pool and be on the boardwalk. Location can't be beat! We tried a few drinks and had a cinnamon strawberry churro flatbread - it was pretty good. read more

This was my first Moxy experience, although I did visit the Moxy NYC Downtown once when a friend stayed there. I knew what to expect as far as room style/size - I have stayed at many similar hotels (citizenM, Arlo, etc). As a solo traveler, I prefer it sometimes. Plus: -Cute decor in my room and in the hotel -Staff was friendly -My partial oceanfront balcony room still had a great view of the ocean -Good location overall - I could walk easily to popular restaurants and the ViBe district. -Pet-friendly! -Great shower in my room -Nice lighting at the sink and full length mirror for getting ready to go out -Although I didn't eat there while staying here, I had stayed at the Belvedere while it was still around and eaten at the diner, so I appreciate that is part of this hotel -Valet were fast, friendly, and helpful. They helped me push my luggage cart and when I checked out the valet helped me load my car. I left a tip in their tip jar because they were all wonderful. (The valet parking lot is literally across the street so you don't have to wait so long for them to retrieve your vehicle). -Easy temperature controls in room -One thing I loved were all the hooks on the wall in my room! I had plenty of space to hang my bags, hoodies, and more. It was great Minus: -My room didn't seem clean enough. The floors were a little sticky -I couldn't get any service at the bar when I tried to use my token. Not a big deal but a bit disappointing -Speaking of my room not being very clean - there was a drawer in the bed frame (this is where the safe was located). Someone had left behind a ... "toy" in that drawer... who knows if that's recent or whatever but it was just gross to find and I really didn't want to touch it. I contemplated notifying the front desk but I felt a bit weird about going down and saying there was a vibrator in my room - as I type this of course now I think I should have said something but I was just a little skeeved out and considering my room already didn't feel clean enough I just got a bit of an ick (this was during my last night). Okay so despite that gross bit above... overall this hotel was great for this trip. read more

I really enjoyed this hotel! The vibes are great! You are greeted with a welcome drink, & can walk right out onto the boardwalk. It feels like an upscale hostel where everyone has a private room, it's a social property & the slide is a fun touch. The gym was great filled with modern equipment. The downsides are they charge for "valet" parking which is a lot just across the street & you can take it in & out yourself. Furthermore, as some people have mentioned the water pressure is lacking - especially in the hand held shower head. There's no microwave or fridge in the room either, but they have lovely balconies. Overall I would give it a 4.8, & I will be back. read more

I had never stayed at a Moxy but I had a positive experience with this one. Moxy is an interesting hotel. Someone mentioned it as a IKEA mixed with that college dorm experience. It gives off that trendy vibe, where you should not just stay in the room but come hangout with everyone by the bar, pool, lobby area. The rooms are your basic room, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, minimalistic with a hanging folding wall table, two folding chairs, no appliances, no night stands, no closets. They're replaced by hooks to hang your items. They have this pantry locker they call the stash locker on every floor filled with towels, toiletries, irons and steamers. Standard hotel fitness center on the second floor, medium sized conference room, and a pool by the bar. Valet is available where they park your car in an outdoor lot across the street. The hotel is also very pet friendly. Everyone from staff to guests were so welcoming to my behaved pup. read more

This place was so fun to walk into. It has a great vibe. There's a lot of free activities in the lobby and a wonderful outdoor area. Our balcony and the ocean is so nice. The only complaint I have with the hotel is the corridors to the rooms, the walls are a deep teal and there's very beat up looking and the carpeting is the same color and it also looks very beat up and stained so surprising for a place that's only one year old. Plus, it's hard to push the cart on a carpet so Floors or updated carpet and paint would make this place really great. Also the doors to enter your room are kind of Janky but everything else is great so I'll take a subpar hallway to stay here again. read more

A quick trip to VA beach we thought this hotel would be a fun place to stay on the beach. It was very fun overall with easy access like most hotels to the boardwalk and beach but the checking process was terrible. (I understand the weekend was busy however it seemed due to having a family or whatever it was i wasn't important enough to be worth their time, until i was visablly upset). We were told they'd notify us when our room was ready with no context of when, they never did. At 4pm, the official check in time (which i found out wayy later), the room was still not ready. They gave other people free drink tokens and appoligies while they waited, but it wasn't until the manager came over and asked If I was helped that I was taken seriously or even helped. He gave me drink tokens like it solved the problem. Tokens were for one free beer or wine essentially. Then it was nearing 5pm and the bartender told me it was for over 18 only basically kicking my family out, who just wanted to sit and enjoy a snack. We got our room while appearing clean, it was hastily done and soaps not filled. The bunk beds were fun lol but the overall room was tiny! If you are looking for a spacious room this is not the place. I would overall not recommend for a family. read more

I've stayed here twice now. Once in September 2023 and another time in early November 2023. September: My family and I stayed there for several days with an oceanfront and two beds room. Keep in mind these rooms are small but was enough space for 3 adults. These are rooms are just for sleeping and getting dressed. The decor is all fun beach vibes. The fun is in the lobby and outside. The lobby decor is inviting and bright. My family is pretty competitive and the board games made it so fun for us. We quickly learned we enjoy shuffleboard here. You are given drink tokens upon check in. Valet is $11 per night which isn't bad compared to other hotels we've stayed at. November: I don't know what happened between September and November. The music in the lobby was extra loud. This time my husband and I stayed the night with our dog, non-oceanfront view. This was totally fine for us. Drink tokens were given. My husband and I decided to have small snack in the lobby... did I mention the music was extra loud? It was loud. The music selection was good, just too much for us at that time. That night the hotel was testing out a new food menu an outside restaurant. It was an asian fusion food menu. The food was pretty good. We were honored to try some snacks the chef was testing out. This is hotel is dog friendly which I do appreciate but the music is too loud even for my dog. We would stay here again and would recommend our friends to stay here based on our experience in September. I am going to say our stay in November just happened to be an odd night. I'd swing by this lobby to have a drink again if I'm in the area. read more

Oh Moxy, let's start by saying I DID NOT stay @ this hotel,I can't speak for the rooms etc,I am only speaking for the lobby bar area....in town for Jeep fest and having had a great time with drinks last year decided this year to stop again with my partner to try to recreate the moment and enjoy a delicious cocktail, bar area was kinda dead with one tender, ordered drinks & noticed an obvious homeless vagrant wearing Christmas pajamas, loitering on one of the couches eating the complementary snacks left on the counter for guests, attempting to talk to everyone requesting a phone charger calling the bartender sweetie pie, She was unbothered somehow by this behavior, vagrant left, but to return this time feasting on more free snacks, sitting close to myself, telling me "I haven't eaten in 2 days, give me money for food" again.... staff seemed unbothered by this individual, is he a regular? Are they scared of him? Is this what clientele you welcome in your main lobby bar? Was going to order more drinks, but was so turned off, promptly left and will find a new bar next year....Good Luck Moxy! read more

Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront - The front is so stunning!! - Hotels Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

I really like the decor of this hotel its very modern with interesting pieces like fortune telling machines and a coaster carriage that can be used a photo opportunity. This place screams we want you to post about us. My issue is me and my wife came down here and i was unable to be served at the bar after not having my wallet. No big deal but a party of 6 people was ordering drinks without showing any ID from another server. The server didn't offer take our food order and did not show any interest in serving us. My wife felt so disappointed after seeing a TikTok suggesting we visit this place on our trip. We will never return back after treatment and I suggest if you dont have a big party with you try another place read more

Room is a bit small but functional. Love the little details and the bed was very comfy. read more

Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront - Balloons in the shower - Hotels Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

Booked a ocean view room with a balcony cost me $1000 for 3 nights. Got a room with no balcony no ocean view no fridge no microwave and to Top it off the electricity wasn't working. When I brought up my concerns they said because I didn't have my original email and my original booking changed once they placed me in this room there is nothing they can do for a gold elite member for so many years I have no words this was supposed to be a fun bday trip. Took me two hours just to get an ice bucket. It's an aesthetically pleasing hotel with nice staff but service should be their number one priority especially for members. All I asked was to be given what I paid for read more
