We used ours in Barcelona and Paris for more than two weeks, and we still had plenty of data left. I suggest you download a WiFi calling app for voice call or we used Facebook to communicate with family. I never once used WiFi at the hotel and continuously used Orange 4G LTE data instead. It was showing the recovery mode screen at times, other times it was stuck in a loop repeating Apple logo, horizontal flicker, dark. I was very worried about what I may have lost, and I couldn't imagine waiting to get home to try to get it fixed, because phones have become such a necessary part of air travel. I had done some googling on the hostel's computer and it looked potentially hopeless but I took my phone to iFixIt just in case, because of the great reviews they had. Within a few minutes of me getting to the store, the attendant opened the phone and showed me my Home Screen again! What a wonderful sight! He said that he had seen this situation before and it was due to moisture getting in through that horizontal opening at the top of the screen (in this case probably from putting phone inside bra on a very hot excursion), and he could fix it by swapping out a part. I was shocked, as none of my googling had even mentioned this as a possibility. He gave me the option of letting him try to restore the part and preserve facial recognition, which would take a few hours. I said sure, and walked around for a while. As it happened, this was not possible, but I got my working phone back! I couldn't have been more surprised or pleased. I highly recommend this store! Thank you, iFixIt!
