Not only was the move very costly but items were broken and our belongings were packed so poorly in storage we ended up spending a lot more in storage costs. Bennett's was priced so much better and they were so fast (they loaded our 3 BR split-level home into 2 trucks in 5 hours). When packing our home into storage it was efficient and expertly done. We had used them to move into our home in Kingsport and if we, ever, return to Tri Cities we will use them again.

Had movers pack and move things to the garage of our new place and a few things to a storage unit. The day of closing we had planned on having the company move the items to the rooms they needed to go- along with moving items from our storage unit to the new home. We agreed to $4000. *$400.00 cash was stolen * Every one of them reeked of weed, including the owner. You do you- but it was to the point my house smelled like it after they left * I called them out on how they smelled and a staff member offered me a hit off of his weed pen. * Items of ours were left by the road and then stolen. * They smoked in our garage * both halves of the mattresses of the split king SLEEP NUMBER BED were ripped * packed sharp and breakable kitchen items in a garbage bag, a knife poked through the bag almost stabbing us *All chemicals in the garage were packed in three boxes and over filled- just thrown in- they leaked- all three- to the point it soaked through to boxes below. * would leave and not tell anyone they were leaving for the day * there's so many more things- but you get the point. *broken items *our personal belongings left by the road and the. Stolen Anyway, they were supposed to meet us after closing to move the items to the rooms from the garage. The owner texted us telling us he'd be at the house at a certain time- we would be at closing- he got angry it was taking so long. We were so tired of it at this point we fired them. We paid them $2800 of the $4k because the job wasn't finished. He's refusing to fix anything that was broke. Because we didn't pay the full amount.

I'll try to limit myself to the…read morelowlights: -One of the guys quit mid-job after calling me a "motherf***er" and an "@$$hole" in the middle of the street. I later learned he was a "loaner" who didn't even work for the company, and that he did poor work all day. -They were hired to help PACK the house, which I was fine paying for. The workers brought NO packing materials and instead just tossed stuff haphazardly into whatever container they could find. When they ran out of the boxes we had provided, instead of asking me to go get more (I was working in my vehicle the entire day), they simply threw things into the back of their truck loose. Two days later we're still finding shattered pieces of our property due to, for example, reams of printer paper being thrown on top of china. -Speaking of dishes, they didn't even pack everything. There were a few items I asked them to leave once I realized they were being idiots with our stuff, but we also discovered they didn't even open the kitchen cabinets, so we have to go back and move most of the kitchen ourselves. If the house closing had not already been moved, we'd have to move it just to finish the job we paid for. -After the truck left the old house I found the ground littered with cigarette butts. It turned out they had been smoking all day right next to the OPEN DOOR of the house. All our stuff reeks of cigarette smoke. Whatever does not err out is now ruined. All told it took them two days to move a three-bedroom home and it's not even moved. We've lost many of my wife's nice things to straight-up malicious incompetence. The owner did take responsibility and accepted a reduced bill, but the more we try to undo the mess, the worse even that settled bill looks. Stay far, far away.

We have one company that we've always used in the past, but for any future moves I'll be using Dave. They were so genuinely friendly, plus efficient, and extremely careful with our stuff. They wrapped our larger furniture with blankets before taking it through doorways and out to the truck. We had zero damage. ALSO Dave's entire staff gets background checks, so he knows who is going into your house. I wholeheartedly recommend them over any company I've used in the past.

He then proceeded to inventory my move, and 1/2 way through my house, walked off the job and drove away, saying he wouldn't move me. I called to get a replacement, but none was available. The owners apologized and said they would try to reschedule me the following weekend. I would not recommend this company

Truck finally arrived a week late. 2 Muslims who barely spoke English, wouldn't listen to me. Careless handling, lost and damaged items. Threw all in a big heap, left large furniture and didn't place it as stated in contract. Left big mattress and base leaning against wall, not laid down in corner as I requested. Kept asking me $100 tip. Left at midnight without telling me. Huge language barrier. Am filing complaint asking for refund due to damages and severe mental and emotional stress. Do NOT HIRE these movers OR United Express out of Florida. Movers hired by United Express, are out of NJ. Calls to A&S were never returned. United Express kept telling me that the truck would be there truck went to Georgia and all over. Ask up front WHEN you want delivery and they do charge extra!

A&J unloaded a few UBoxes I had shipped to Kingsport for me and did a great job. I hired them…read morefor an out of state move and was disappointed. I was told they would send two trucks/trailers (16 ft and 10 ft) for the move. They showed up with only the 16 ft trailer and I was told that they decided to keep 10 ft back incase something came up locally and they thought they could fit everything into 16 ft. When I questioned this decision I was told if it wasn't enough space they would rent a Haul truck They didn't hire a Haul truck but spent several hours trying to load my stuff in a 16 ft trailer. It was load/unload trying to find more room. At the end of the day they did not get everything in and when furniture was unloaded in Kingsport I found that my cherry nightstand had a pretty deep gouge and some scratches on the cherry bed. When I pointed this out they insisted everything was covered with blankets. However, the damage was not there prior to the move and even blankets won't stop a hard contact with another surface. I was charged the full price quoted for 2 trailers but they only showed up with 1. Locally, I think they do great but my out of state experience was not great.

They were honest, dependable and efficient. They moved a 3 BR townhouse with stairs and an outdoor shed, handled my belonging with the greatest care, and delivered everything that they promised. There were no damages and no surprises. They stayed focused and communicated with me throughout the process. I usually use larger companies but have no regrets that I used A&J. They lost the legs to my couch, dismembered my refrigerator (I had to pay $260 to have put back together, they broke my freezer, lost the bolts/screws to my bed, broke the attachment for the mirror to the dresser. This WAS a $10,000 dollar suite by Thomasville (when made in USA). Now I must find a furniture company that has hardware to put this together. This move was a fiasco! A total disaster!
