Frequent pressure checks. Julie frequently asked how the pressure is in different parts of the body. She basically helped me craft my perfect massage. 2. Occasional temperature checks. The massage table is heated, and she made sure the temperature was comfortable the whole time. 3. She talks just the right amount. Some massage therapists are too chatty (for my taste, anyway). Their approach is to build on whatever new health buzz and build a business on it. None of their diagnoses or 'special pills' have ever proven to have any lasting benificial effects on their patients' conditions nor based on any data eveidence. it is all trial and error and yet Dr Dempster's clinic charges a fortune. Furthermore, their approach is to magnify any health issues raised by their patients so they have them on the 'hook' for additional consultation, blood testing and their miracle vitamins. Interesting that the blood testing after a treatment recommended by the clinic is never included in the 'price '. That is because it is all a fallacy... I have lived through an episode of a series of super expensive series of treatment with my husband and now my son because of hair loss. Really Dr Dempster has a solution for men's hair loss that nobody has found and that is evidenced based. I truly doubt it... I beg you, do not schedule an appointment with the Dr Dempster clinic because he will have you hooked on any series of treatments that sincerely you can address with a better diet, exercise, and mindfulness ( spend quality time with yourself meditating /praying or reading an inspirational book) . As others have written, she takes the time to listen to your issues, ask you further/clarifying questions and offer a treatment plan. She also consistently follows up on (and is open to revising) that plan - keeping records of your past issues, treatments and feedback (ie. How did you feel after we did these points?). Also, as a queer masc-leaning dyke, body work can be a rotten experience. Sarah has only ever been awesome. No weird assumptions or comments, and all the consent-practices you could hope for. I've recommended Sarah to several friends and when she's not available, I've heard that her colleagues are also excellent.

It's kind of funny to me that I had a couple of job interviews in the area and then decided to grab lunch at a supermarket that doesn't exactly scream discounts. I need a job to support my love for organic avocados and croissants! Before I got my current job, I was looking for work. I had interviews that spanned a couple of months. I drove down to Yorkville both times and parked in a lot. I went to each interview. Afterwards, I was hungry and hit this Whole Foods. The salad bar had my name all over it. There was also tiramisu and I got a box for my rectangular slab. I then went to pay for everything. For some reason, I didn't dine there. I ate in my car instead, which has been my usual thing for years. I remember how happy I was that the interview was over and I could indulge in fresh mixed greens, some salad dressing that had the best citrusy flavours, crispy cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, and sweet corn kernels. I also remember stuffing by face with the best tiramisu. The mascarpone was heavenly with the lady fingers, cocoa, and more. I was so happy. I should have bought an entire tray of it just for me. I returned after my second interview and had an egg salad sandwich. Simple. Yummy. Perfect. The bread was seedy. It was so good. It hit the spot. I haven't been back here since I landed my current job. It may be a good thing. I still love Whole Foods. Markham has been graced with its own and I frequent it often. Unfortunately, my most recent online order was marked "delivered," but I never received it. The package was left unattended, and although a delivery photo was provided, I did not sign for or receive the parcel. When I contacted the company, they declined to reship or refund the order because the carrier marked it as delivered. My request to escalate the matter went unanswered. It's disappointing that a longtime customer was left to absorb the loss without any meaningful resolution. I valued this brand and intended to continue as a customer, but this experience has changed that.
