Secondly, when one tries to get help from the manager, they treat you like absolute dirt, basically treating you like a criminal who's trying to pull a heist there. Distrusting and rude. When we arrived in South TX, this was the only... storage location open during the weekend. We had NO nearby options. When we arrived we were told they didn't have any 10x10 units. So we rented two 5x5 units and literally stacked our stuff to the ceiling and stored our mattress at a family member's house. The indoor AC controlled units were kept around 85 degrees Fahrenheit, which wasn't great. One of the units had a stain on the floor. Both had broken rat traps. But we had no other nearby choices and I was running low on remaining trip miles on the UHaul moving truck I ordered. So we went ahead and rented the units. We were offered a deal: the first month free for one of the units. The other cost $80 for the month of July.... $80, their renters insurance required. When we returned to clear out the units on 7/29/22, some jerk had thrown trash over the top of the wall where the storage doors are and into our unit. Wtf? Why is there an opening there? While we were moving out we saw that like 3 10x10 units next to ours were open and filled with clothing and other US items intended to be sold across the border in Mexico. So these people were running a business out of the storage units. Hmm... Oh did I mention the border wall/fence sits within a stones throw... literally... of the storage units? Yeah, pretty darn close. Anyways, we shopped around and found a storage location with an indoor 10x10 unit very close to us at a lower monthly cost and better facilites which we have since moved into. Service was okay, but I have used the following storage companies in the past (ranked best to worst) 1) BeeSafe Storage 2) Cube Smart Self Storage 3) UHaul Storage I am currently storing my belongings at a Move It Storage location near McAllen TX. I'll review them once we've moved out. So far so good. UHaul is by far the worst so far. At least, the location I used was not good. The facilities are dirty and poorly maintained. - There is trash like abandoned rusted out vehicles and the like just parked on grassy areas within the facilities. - The single bathroom is gross and one day it was out of soap and paper towels. - My units had stained floors and open rat traps - People threw trash in my unit through an opening at the top of the wall. - Other renters are operating for-profit, international businesses out of the units... sketch I wouldn't recommend this location.

The website issue may be Uhaul's fault but the reason I'm leaving the review is for the absolutely horrible customer service I received. They received my reservation but did not notify me they would not be able to fulfill the order. When I tried to figure out that to do about my pre-paid reservation and asked why they did not notify me he was yelling at me while I was trying to talk to me and hung up on me multiple times. I never did get a resolution to my issue because of their horrible service. They did not care how much inconvenience and hardship this caused they just disconnected the phone. That's very rude.

Climate-controlled. Gated. Reasonably priced…read more Three reasons why you should store your belongings at Safeguard. The woman working there is very helpful and the lobby is very nice. The facility's upkeep is phenomenal; everything is clean and tidy. No dead bugs! The air-conditioning really keeps your belongings from growing musty and warped in the South Texas heat. For $110 a month, I have my former apartment furniture sitting in luxury until I need them again. I'm sure there are cheaper storage places, but why trust your prized possessions to second-rate facilities? Just use Safeguard.
