Beware of false overtime fees. While we had a good experience with the moving crew, the owner/manager tried to charge us for fake overtime fees. Do not fall for this. Moving is stressful enough, and worrying about being scammed was not something I needed to deal with. Also, the packing crew missed a lot of our items, which I then had to pack myself. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER. I have a default judgement from magistrate court for furniture damage in the amount of almost $5,000 and the company is still refusing to pay. The contract that you sign states that they will pay damages of 60% market value of your household goods. They will not honor that contract. They acknowledged that they did damage and stated that they would reimburse promptly. It has been 8 months and I have not received any compensation. On moving day, they brought a truck that was too small for our furniture. They spent 4 hours loading, unloading, pushing, and shoving before they finally decided to get a trailer to pull behind the truck. Only some of the damage was noticed when they unloaded at our new home because it was almost midnight due to their delays. We did not see all the damage until the next day. I should not have to hire a lawyer and collection company to get my money. A verdict was rendered so pay the money you owe me. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO FIGHT FOR PAYMENT OF DAMAGES. read more

Movers was 2 hours late and after unloading my furniture they tried to raise the quoted price from $485 to $670 saying they was subcontracted and that was their fee. read more

My daughter needed to move from Kanawha City to Quarrier Street. She was moving from a two-story townhouse to a historic apartment in the East End. Her new apartment is a third-story walk-up. Her initial movers fell through at the last minute. I called Move 4 Less on a Friday, trying to find movers for the next morning. I spoke with the owner, Ben. He was able to give me an estimate over the phone after asking me a series of questions about what needed to be moved. I also disclosed about all the stairs associated with her new apartment. Ben charged an extra fee for the stairs, and after seeing those movers climb those stairs again and again, the charge was more than fair. Two workers and a large truck arrived ten minutes before the 10 a.m. appointment time. The workers were diligent, friendly and so hard-working. They loaded the truck in just over two hours. Then we caravanned over the river to the East End. It took an hour longer than the four hours we had been invoiced for to unload the truck and carry everything up three flights of stairs. Again the workers wasted no time, were friendly and did not complain about the endless steps even though I was complaining loudly! The workers took apart two beds and reassembled them in the new place. They also assisted us in taking a ratty sofa and a broken full-sized portable dishwasher to the trash. At the end of the move, my daughter gave the workers a check for the invoiced amount, and cash for the additional hour. The company accepts cash, check or credit card. Our family was very pleased with our experience with Move 4 Less. They were accommodating, professional and fair. They gave good value for our money. We would use this company again in a heartbeat. Scheduling was the best and easiest part. However, I was told to meet the movers at 9am and that was changed to 10. Then it was changed again to 11am. Movers delayed for what reasons I'm not sure, but horrible communication. As far as their actual moving ability, they were great. It took from 11am-3pm (start the clock at 10am to include their drive to starting location). The bill was higher than I expected due to travel time, I just wished the scheduler had mentioned this to me. Also, I would have given a much higher rating if they had given me a discount for my TWO HOUR delay. Because I was there on time and my time is just as important as theirs! Also, no one wore a mask ever. During covid that's a very big risk. Would I use them again? No, I'd rather have a better organized experience. read more
