The customer service person always calls me at the end of the day and when I asked her to call me in the morning, she refused to agree with that. She said, I cannot promise I will be able to do that. I asked why and she said, I get busy with customers. How silly of me to forget that I too am a customer. What a ridiculous response from her.

After a fabulous afternoon birthday tea with friends, I popped into Publix Waynesville. The lines were long, so I opted for self-checkout. Packing bags , I was admittedly was slow and deliberate as I am not good at "bagging". I also looked to note that items were being rung up properly (ex. BOGO) so it probably took me about 5 minutes to ring up a full trolley of goods and pack them. As I was placing the receipt into my purse and preparing to vacate the spot, an employee came up and loudly announced that she "did not see me ring up my paper towels" and demanded the receipt. This is something that she HAS THE TECHNOLOGY to check without uttering a word to me. It was an obvious attempt at public humiliation (why?). Several people put their head on a swivel to see the drama of someone loudly being accused of shoplifting paper towels. I wanted to crawl under the register and die, but I could only manage to hand her the receipt and put my head down. After the employee saw her obvious mistake, she only said "okay, thank you" and handed me the receipt back. I asked the monitor standing nearby "why" she did that, to which she gave no reasonable explanation. I barely made it to my vehicle before I broke out in tears and phoned my husband, who instructed me to return all the groceries immediately. I will give credit where credit is due and say that both Savannah and the store manager on duty were very sympathetic and understood how in this very small town, this would be utterly humiliating. They apologised profusely and the manager even offered to walk me and my groceries (that I didn't return) back to my vehicle. Regardless, the embarrassement of being falsely accused in such a way as to shame me publicly - when I did absolutely nothing wrong, has forever ruined shopping at the Waynesville Publix. Thankfully, I still have Sarasota Publix.

I was here as a tourist and I needed a few things from the market and Publix was right there, so I went in and I was blown away by the cleanliness, spacious aisles, and selection of products available. Food, dry goods, and drugstore items are all available. Grocery stores are not my favorite stores to go into, but this visit was a treat. I like it very much.

Yep. Just like Haywood Regional Hospital a decade ago, this pharmacy had a breakdown two months…read moreago. It started with a simple phone call to refill a medication. Did that. My husband told me to call back to set a pick up time. Tried, but couldn't. I thought that was a little odd. We went to pick it up. We were rudely told at the pick up window that it was not ready because the CVS computers were down. And, we were told that the medication wasn't in stock. I was perplexed and worried about withdrawal symptoms. I asked what to do. The employee replied with rude words again. My husband parked the car and I suddenly wished he wasn't a human-grizzly hybrid. My brain nor body wouldn't let me catch up with him due to fear. He told a different pharmacist that his at-the-window pharmacist was rude. You know how it is- placating words to move us along. They did offer to give us some of the sought after medication if we brought the bottle in. We pondered that, but decided to wait for their computers to be fixed and to see if our original request had been received within their data banks. So, I called again either the next day or two days later to see if my daughter's prescription was ready, or if I had to resubmit the refill. Of course, it got even more bizarre. First, the woman told me that my daughter's insurance was no longer valid. (That problem got solved.) Then, I was told that I had to request from my daughter's medical provider that they authorize an override for this medication. Huh? Isn't that CVS's job? (In fact, it is.) When I called my daughter's nurse to do so, she definitely thought it was weird. She called up CVS and got even more weirdness. I am withholding the name of the employee whose shenanigans created unneeded work for others. Maybe she is related to the rude employee and was seeking revenge. We have switched to another pharmacy now. I will say that once they gave me a free, three-dayish dose of another medication when I forgot to renew it. That is good, but not good enough for me to go back to them.
