My husband has a MAJOR phobia of needles, particularly IV insertion, and becomes extremely anxious. It was very important to us that an exceptionally skilled and experienced nurse anesthetist or other qualified professional insert his IV. He would also have a very difficult time if he had to remain awake and anxious for an extended period after the IV was inserted while waiting to receive the anesthesia. Ideally, we wanted him to be put under as soon as the IV was successfully placed and it was medically appropriate to do so. I shared this information with April at the check-in desk, who placed a note on top of his chart to ensure the nurses were aware of the situation. I was also permitted to accompany him to the holding room and stay with him until he was taken into the procedure room. Roman was very understanding and compassionate, checking on my husband regularly to see how he was doing. His thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated. When we asked who might be the best choice for insertion of the IV, it was decided that Chad, your Nurse Manager, would be an excellent choice. Chad was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly sensitive to Lane's phobia, took the time to talk with him, and waited until approximately 10 minutes before my husband was scheduled to be taken into the procedure room before inserting the IV. He did an incredible job, and my husband told me he didn't feel a thing! Chad's understanding, patience, and skill made an enormous difference in Lane's experience. The kindness of your staff extended beyond my husband's immediate care. I was invited to wait in the holding room, in the chairs near the exit door where patients are picked up, rather than having to return to the main check-in lobby. They even offered me water while I waited. These thoughtful gestures did not go unnoticed. Every member of your staff we encountered was exceptionally kind, accommodating, and understanding. What could have been an extremely stressful experience for my husband turned into a remarkably positive one because your staff took the time to understand his fears and accommodate his needs with such compassion and professionalism. Our appreciation goes to April, Roman, and Chad and your entire staff. I am healthy and they won't do egd and colonoscopy the same day. Not happy with sedation on two days. Where safe and appropriate, it has been shown that same-day scheduling of elective upper and lower endoscopic procedures can help reduce health care costs and avoid potential harm from repeated sedation and blood-drawing. However, the Hopkins Medicine research showed that some physicians routinely split the one-day procedure into two, a pattern that was more common when they have a stake in the endoscopy facility. The second booking of an endoscopy suite results in higher costs from additional physician and facilities fees. Despite the recognized advantages of same-day scheduling, the Johns Hopkins researchers identified patterns of different-day overuse. This was least common in hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) while more often seen in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs, which are free-standing centers focused on providing same-day surgical care) and physician offices. read more

Arrived at 10:30 for an 11:00 appointment. We were told they were 1 hour behind schedule if we wanted to come back. We stayed for appoint not knowing they were wouldn't be called in until 2:00 pm. Waiting in an over crowded waiting room. Finally checked to see if everything has gone well for his procedure and this was at 3:45, come to find out he is still waiting to have procedure. I have to wait 45 min to hour. Never again. If we get referred here again we will respectfully decline. read more

When I arrived (after preparing for a colonoscopy for a day), they said they were 3 hours behind because the doctor had a problem. One person in the waiting room said they had been waiting since 10Am and it was 3pm when I got there. They were rude and unprofessional. I ended up leaving and cancelled my operation. They wanted me to wait for hours past my scheduled time in the waiting room, while I was starving. I would never ever trust this place or the doctors. Everyone was nice here except for one nurse-- which is, in my opinion, to be expected every time you're dealing with people who work in the health care industry. I overheard a nurse instructing this woman to be in the curtains with me while I changed since I was a "younger, female patient" (the way I heard myself described) just waking up off of anesthesia. She must've been upset with either that nurse or my presence, because -- while I didn't hear what she said back (after being told by her peer twice) a male came in instead. I personally didn't have an issue with it in the first waking moments off my anesthesia but I did find it odd. She coincidentally happened to be the nurse when I went back after almost leaving with no formal clearance to return to work. She had an attitude when I asked for it and seemed annoyed. She told me in a rude tone they only excuse one day off of work, which did not matter to me at all. I just needed to prove I am cleared. I think I was confused from the anesthesia and didn't realize what day of the week it was for the return date. It shouldn't of mattered to her though. She could've just gotten me my note as requested without the attitude on the side. People like that should not be working alongside patients in their most vulnerable moments. Her coworkers seemed used to her behavior. So, while I didn't catch her name, I'm sure they all know who I'm talking about. That whole experience was rough to live through. I don't think they all fully realize the effects of not eating for 36 + hours and waking up off anesthesia has on a person, even if they are young. Just walking back and forth from the seating area to the receptionist to receive/return consent forms was challenging. I'm just thankful there were no errors with my procedure. read more

AVOID this place - SCAM ALERT. They bill for Anesthesia through a separate company called SDA Services of CA in Nashville, TN which utilizes an obscure loophole in the Mountain View Surgery billing methods to charge you bogus fees for Anesthesia services. You will receive this bill months later and it is very difficult to communicate with this third party billing company to have the unapproved charges removed. They will threaten to send you to collections without any proof for the services rendered that they are billing for. I have been corresponding with them for months and they have yet to provide me with any backup for their billing invoice showing an explanation for the charges. Mountain View Surgery is unable to assist with resolving this because they do not itemize their billing properly. Avoid this place at all costs if you don't want some random company back in Nashville, TN sending you a bogus bill months later. read more

I had my first colonoscopy here. The nurses and anesthesiologist were amazing. I don't like needles and I've never been sedated before, I was close to a panic attack and even cried a bit. The nurses did so good at helping me calm down without making me feel judged or weird or looked down on about the entire situation. I wish I got to know their names or tell them thank you because they really did help. Their ability to stay kind and compassionate with a patient crying over something that they deal with every day is something to admire/acknowledge and I really appreciated it. They shaped my experience and are the reason I'm writing my review. I'm rating 4/5 because I didn't like that there were no private rooms (beds separated with curtains) but the nurses did help distract me from this. read more

This place is the worst. I had an appt for a procedure at 12:15 pm. At 11 am, they called to ask me to come in at 1:15 pm instead because they were "running a little behind." The waiting room was not air conditioned and over flowing. Not necessarily a huge problem; however, it was summer and they did not bring me back to get the procedure until 4:30 pm. Yep...over 3 hrs late in a horribly crowded and hot waiting room. Ordinarily I would have left way before then but the procedure was for a colonoscopy so I already hadn't eaten for over a day and a half, not to mention the less-than-ideal prep that goes into it. I complained to the facility manager who thanked me for the info and advised she was unaware of the situation. That's hard to believe since the waiting room was overflowing into an adjoining hallway area and it's her job to be aware of how things are going. Then, to make matters worse, I was treated horribly. This was not my first rodeo so I'm aware of certain things that should be done with patients following this procedure. None of that was done and I was given the bum's rush. They were supposed to send me a copy of the report within a few weeks. After six, I called for it and was told to contact my doctor. It took two additional calls to finally get the report. Next time, I will have my PCP fully vet any facility outside of my regular medical group and I will do the same. Do yourself a huge favor and look elsewhere for care. The only thing that could be done other than firing all the office staf and hiring people who care and don't lie. And for them to follow insurance guide lines. After having medical transportation approval by staff , confirmed before appointment date which included dr approval i had been told. Something they later lied about and pretended the person didn't work there. All my calls are record. Confronted with that they acted like she wasn't management and that she had lied. (I am pretty sure she was one of the people in the meeting with the supervisor) when I showed up for the appointment they demanded a baby sitter and denied me a much needed surgery causing escalating health problems afterwards. They ignored my insurances rep who called and told them . They approved my transportation and accepted responsibility. My prior surgeries and transportation had gone really well. Two of the employees laughed in my face in a meeting with a supervisor when I cried and begged them to double check my insurance and the surgeon. I don't even think those employees needed to be there. It became obvious the surgical center management and front staff gleefully did not care about my health. I had been lucky my previous surgeon and the back staff were so excellent on prior visits. This also was my new surgeons fault because he could have have allowed the surgery but refused to talk to me even though they said he was available between patients. He doesn't see patients in his office even when requested. Apparently he sits in his office. All of this mystified my insurance company. read more

I had to have a procedure done at the surgery center. I had a 12:00pm appointment and a 1:30 pm surgery time. They were running an hour behind but all the staff was super friendly and apologized. All the nurses were amazing and Dr Jo was very professional. I had the procedure and it turned out great. The nurse in recovery called my wife and I left. I would recommend this surgery center, but I would say arrive 30 minutes before your appointment. Just for paperwork. read more

5 star experience in comparison to my EGD I had a few years ago at the medical center. At my previous appointment I was NPO after midnight, appointment was around 1pm and didn't get seen until 4pm. Here at My. View I checked in an hour prior to my appointment as instructed and was rolled into my procedure 15 minutes after my appointment time. That's really good IMO. Especially cause I've worked in an procedural environment, I'm aware of all the potential reasons for delays. This is a busy surgery center, however staff are nice and efficient. My experience from check in to leaving was pretty straightforward with no issues. I would definitely return for any future GI procedures. read more

I would not recommend this facility. If this a referral from your Primary, request another facility. I was told to arrive at 5:30am, however the building was dark and none of the staff had arrived yet and there was other patients waiting in the parking lot that had been told to arrive at 5:30am as well. Staff arrived promptly at 6am and opened the doors. We were processed in like cattle by staff/a nurse, after the procedure was over, my husband was called to "pick me up at the back door" I was still very groggy and out of it and was vomiting from the anesthesia. The staff/nurse handed me a barf bag and my bag of clothes and told me to "get dressed" I was then put in a wheelchair, handed my paperwork and placed by the back door for some time (I assume this is when they were calling husband to pick me up - he was waiting in the waiting room out front). The whole ride home I was still vomiting and very out of it. My husband could not believe they released me in this condition! This whole experience felt like what I would expect from a back alley surgery clinic in a third world country. Since this was my 1st colonoscopy, I would not have known what to expect and would have nothing to compare it to, however, my husband had the same procedure just a couple of months prior with the same Doctor at another facility and had a completely different experience. His nurse was attentive, kept me updated and had me come back to his recovery room to help wake him up and help him dress. They made sure he was fully awake and okay before releasing him. Mountain View Surgery Center runs an efficient, no frills testing center. The place is clean, staff are really organized, and efficiency seems to be a priority. The staff working at the facility all seemed very nice and did their jobs appropriately and professionally. Dr. Evans was personable and exuded confidence, which is much appreciated by patients. I would have given a 5-star rating, but there are a few areas where improvement is needed before that rating is warranted. None of these suggestions would impact costs or efficiency. Areas of needed improvement include: 1. Keeping on schedule. Patients are required to show up 1-hr before their appointment, and when they do, they should be seen on time. I understand the occasional emergency, but how far behind can a business get before a 7:15 am appointment? 2. Use the delay board. There is a board in the lobby than can be updated to show delay times from 15, 30 45, and 60 minutes. It should be used. It was not in use the day I was there 3. If someone is late, delay them and not other appointments. 4. Provide more patient privacy. The sign in sheet should be the tape type that the receptionist can remove the name so others can't see who is there. 5. Use the curtains between and around beds in the preparation and recovery area. 6. Put a chair in the preparation and recovery area to assist patients get dressed and their shoes back on. read more

Took my mother for an esophageal procedure at Mountain View Surgery. As we went to check in, the staff was friendly and helpful. Once everything was verified, we were given a few papers to sign consenting everything that was about to be done and not even 5 minutes later, she was on her way for her procedure. After the procedure, they ask you (designated driver) to pull to the back and wait for them while they transport them out in a wheel chair to your car. My mom was still a little groggy so they asked me to come on in and sit with her while she felt more awake. The nursing staff was on top of everything going on around them and her nurse frequently checked on her while she woke up from her sedation. On our way out, the nursing staff asked her again how she felt and off we went to the car. I'm really happy with the service for my mom from this center. read more

This center is efficient, clean, well staffed, and will process your case very professionally. They also play great movies while waiting for your outpatient services. My procedure was very quickly accomplished and I am good with how the doc took care of my case. The reason I give this medical service only three stars though is because of how impersonal they are. You are one of dozens of other patents. It feels like a factory for colonoscopies. I did not have a moment after the procedure to speak with the doctor about what he discovered. A lot of communication is lost when you are simply handed a printed out paper with some cryptic information on it. I also felt like I was ushered out quickly though a door to the parking lot that had no shade for waiting patients. That could be alleviated easily by purchasing a simple canopy. Over all, if I have to go back there I will, but I now know what to expect when I do. read more

I've had several tests/procedures done here at Mountain View Surgery.I find it to be very well organized and run and have had no problems while being seen here. I am always seen by Dr Jo. I think people do not understand that this is a facility that is contracted with providers to use to perform procedures and that the individual providers are the ones responsible for scheduling, follow up and performing the procedures. The staff that work here are not the ones that schedule, provide instructions, etc. I've seen people come in and be really angry or have to wait and be really angry because they weren't given instructions timely or notified of changes, etc. Yeah, I eavesdrop. haha The thing is that the staff manning the front desk are only responsible for checking you in and getting your paperwork ready, etc. When you walk in, it is their first interaction with you, so any bad things that happened before are coming from your provider. I just feel bad for the ladies that work there because most people think they are the ones who failed to get the info or appt set up correctly. My personal experience has always been great, but I am also lucky to have a great provider. All the problem ones seem to be with Loma Linda. Their so big, things seem to fall through the cracks, I guess. But I've been treated kindly and professionally and my procedures are always quick and comfortable with no issues. read more

They had me come to check in at 9am I waited 90 minutes before taken back to a bed. Then laid in the bed for nearly 90 more minutes before they started to prepare and take me into the procedure. I've had to have a colonoscopy every year for ten years now. Colon cancer has taken three of my family members. Since this is something that has to happen I'm pleased this clinic and staff are here. I can't say enough good about everyone there.The girl at the registration desk was adorable and so efficient. The staff in the back Paige, Naz, Quinton, Desire and Stephanie are incredibly kind and very good at what they do as well.The next day Mary followed up with a phone call to see how I was doing.That's so very thoughtful. I went here for a colonoscopy. I was referred by my general practitioner and was only given a phone number to call. When I called to make an appointment I was told to wait for a call back. I waited 3 weeks no call. I called back and was finally able to set up an appointment. I still didn't even know the name of the clinic or where it was. I asked for the address and that was all the information I was given. I didn't receive any instructions before the procedure. I received one email asking me to send in my insurance information again. No appointment reminders, no information. A prescription was sent to my pharmacy for the laxative drink to take the day before. The pharmacist told me to drink it the day before and the morning of and to only drink water. When I arrived at my appointment and told them I had been drinking water they told me that was not allowed 2 hours before the procedure and I had to wait 2 more hours before I could get it done. I had enough trouble finding a driver for this procedure and was not expecting a 2 hour delay. I do not recommend coming here. Go somewhere where the office staff does there job. read more

I recently had a colonoscopy procedure at this location and 5 years before that I had one here. My experience was good. My Dr was Dr Evans. He went over my History and concerns before the procedure. My appointment time was 7am and I was told to be here at 6. They opened at 6 and there was only 2 patients already checked in when I got there. I was called back in about 30 min after check in. The nurses and staff were all very nice and Paul the anesthesiologist nurse was very informative and polite. Everyone made me feel comfortable before and after. I was in recovery by 8:30am and on my way home at 9am. Honestly I can't say enough good things about how the process went. I am very involved in my health care as we must be our own advocate. I already had this procedure Before so I knew the dos and the don'ts, which made it easier. I had the paper work given to me from the surgery center at my Drs appts so I had things filled out ahead of time. Made things smoother. Thank you all for taking good care of me! read more

Horrible experience. I went in for a Colonoscopy and was asked to be at the front desk at 7:15 AM to complete paper work and screening. All went well until the moment I was in bed and my vital were taken; at that point it was 8:15 and was told it would take about 1-1/2 Hours for the procedure and recovery. That would have put me between the hours of 9:45 to 10:00 to go home. It was 10:00 AM (1 hour and 45 minutes later) and I was still waiting. They kept saying "you are next" and I told them that I was going to go home if I was not taken in the procedure room in the next 1/2 hour. Finally at 10:30 a nurse assistance began the preparation for me to go into the procedure room. I was thirsty, hungry and very upset with the whole experience. I would never ever come back to this place or recommend this clinic to my worst enemy. Avoid this place like the plague. read more
