Is there height, age, weight requirements? This has been a dream for as long as I can remember. I used to ride Shawnee trails at least once a month back in the day. We all love and have a respect for this giant and I'd love to share this love with my granddaughter now. If you could answer my questions along with a base price and types of trail and length,I'd be very grateful. Thank you, Kay Riley kariley63.kr@gmail.com

THIS PLACE IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY'S HEALTH…read moreAND WELL-BEING. Please read my entire review to see how this place really is. Horseback riding at this stable was the biggest nightmare I have ever experienced The beginning of the ride didn't show how bad the events would turn. For the first 40 minutes of the ride we had a great time until the guide decided to rope off my horse. Her dangerous behavior led to my left knee injury and me almost falling off the horse I rode, who was a 27 year old horse and very well behaved. The horse was very easy to ride and caused no problems to me as a rider. I indicated in a form that that I am an advanced equestrian and I've been around horses my whole life and I'm very comfortable riding horses both in the saddle and all around horses/stables. I got injured in a ride trail because of the guide's lack of imagination. She crushed my knee with her horse's weight twice as she approached me without getting off her horse and her horse walked against my left knee. She did that twice in opposite directions until I screamed from pain and that's when she got off her horse to rope my horse off properly. She took control of my horse with a rope and took the snaffle bit out of horses mouth as exemplified by the attached photo. I told the trail guide that I don't feel safe staying so close to her horse as horses kick and you need to keep your horse at least 4 feet behind another horse. This was also told me before our trail ride at the stable, the prison who gave us our helmets after we paid for the experience told us to stay 4 yards away from each other horses. In her response she told me that she knows better and disregarded my complaint about me feeling not safe after my left knee got crushed by the horse she was riding. The guide has also injured the horse I rode because she run him into a tree cutting severely skin on his head. She led my horse way too close to her horse and there was a tree. Her horse went right and because I couldn't control my horse with no snaffle bit she led my horse left and he hit his head against the tree as he was stuck on that rope that the guide held in her hand. I had no control of the horse I was riding as per attached photo with the snaffle bit taken out by the guide. Her horse went right next to a tree and mine went left. Then my horse jumped and kicked as he was hurt by the guide and I almost fell. If it wasn't for my riding experience I would have been right on the ground trampled by the injured horse. At that point I couldn't believe what kind of irresponsible guide this person was, so I I started recording with my cell phone everything that happened next to avoid another injury after my knee got crushed and the horse I rode got injured by the guide. As we arrived at the stable at the end of the hour trail, I politely reported the incident and my injury to the manager when we came back to the stable and the manager called the police calling me and my wife trespassers (sic!), after we paid $240 for 2 hours of trail horseback riding as we scheduled another hour at 4pm as well. The manager tried to scare us to leave. She called the police to report "trespassing" even though we were guests at the Pocono Manor and paid for resort stay and the horse rides in advance, The manager and the guide completely ruined our experience by acting rude, unprofessionally and with no empathy. She did not apologize or even offer ice for my injured knee. She was trying to intimidate us to leave. When the police arrived the manager lied to them and said that I ran her horse into the tree and in the attached photo you can clearly see that the snaffle bit is out so I had no control of the horse after it got roped off. The guide had full control of the horse I rode. This is the rudest and the least professional horseback riding facility I have seen. I grew up around horses and I've seen many stables around the world as I travel a lot and ride horses often. I've never experienced such terrible service and lack of empathy. With an injured knee and not even an apology or offering me some ice the manager decided to kick us out by calling the police and telling the cops that we are trespassing after I paid $240 for 2 hours of riding on easy trail trail and hundreds of dollars for our stay at Pocono Manor that was supposed to be a safe and pleasant experience for my wife and me. The horseback riding facility at the Pocono Manor Ranch, is a place that's dangerous for children and adults and should be avoided at all cost. Unqualified personnel endangers safety and health of the resort visitors as well as the animal welfare of the horses. I will spare you the photos of horse injuries as they are disturbing and traumatizing. Under no circumstances go there if you care about your family health or well-being. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.

It's clear how much she and her husband, Ben love and care for every single animal there. The hands-on experience was the highlight for me. I loved getting to feed the gentle horses, alpacas, pigs, goats, donkeys, turkeys, peacocks, sheep and more. The personal interaction with the animals was amazing. The animals seemed happy, healthy, and very used to human interaction, which speaks volumes about the ranch's welfare standards. Not only did I get to help with the animal chores, Kathryn is also very environmentally conscious as we composted, recycled or re-purposed everything at the ranch. It was a joy helping and I highly recommend making an appointment for an experience. It is also a great place to volunteer if you love animals, Kathryn is a remarkable woman. Kathryn not only loves the animals, she is knowledgeable and kind. I learned so much about the different rescue animals and the conservation efforts the ranch supports. The entire property is beautiful with spectacular views. If you're an animal lover or looking for a unique, educational day trip with the family, I cannot recommend Gress Mountain Ranch enough. It's more than just a ranch; it's a truly special place where you can connect with nature and wonderful creatures. I am now a steady volunteer, I encourage you to plan a visit!

The ice cream spot stays busy - so if that doesn't tell you all you need to know, I'll say the ice cream is great! The apple spiced fall flavor was really delicious. My mom was a big fan of the milk - she bought 2 bottles. There was live music by the outdoor seating area, which was such a nice vibe to sit and enjoy ice cream with the family. We ended up going back the next day in the morning so we could see the animals, we walked around the barn and visited the cows, the goats, the alpacas. The kids loved it...we did too. The lands go on seemingly forever; on the property you'll find picnic tables and adirondack chairs to rest between shopping, strolling the grounds, perusing the greenhouse, and oggling the farm animals. Lots of parking, but can be busy during peak summer times. I think it's a great place for families - seems like a fun place for kiddos to run around. Do them a favor, and leave your pets at home. I don't think it's great for the farm or the animals that live there to be exposed to house pets if they don't have to be. Enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Hillside Farms if you're ever lucky enough to be in the area!
