I come to Mountain View Pointe Dental twice a year for teeth cleaning. Every other appointment, they make me gag with the X-ray bitewings. Have never gotten over that feeling.
Last week, I bit down on something and cracked about a quarter of one of my lower molars. Luckily, no nerve endings were exposed, so there wasn't any pain or discomfort.
The next day, they worked me in to evaluate the extent of the damage and let me know my options. I expected they would X-ray the tooth and then schedule me for a second appointment to repair the damage.
Instead, they said they could rebuild the tooth right then, using resin to fill in the gap. They also replaced my old 1970s-era amalgam filling, also covering the tooth with more resin.
Even with the shot of Novocaine and having to wait 15 or 20 minute for it to take effect, the entire procedure took less than an hour.
