Brightly lit courts for evening tennis
    Steff A.

I mainly visit Mountain View Park for the 2 great tennis courts here. There are no visible cracks on the court, never any leaves on the court, and the net is in great shape. There's a fence divider between the courts to keep my stray shots from heading over to the other side..doh! =) Additionally, the lighting for night tennis is fantastic. No glare and they're bright enough to light up the adjacent basketball court. There's a children's playground, sand volleyball courts, a little league sized baseball field and a very big grassy field that's popular with the locals in the neighborhood. The playground is covered to keep the sun rays out on a typical hot Henderson afternoon. Also, there's plenty of space in the grass for field sports such as soccer and football games. I come here for the tennis courts but overall Mountain View park has something for everyone. I'll see you on the courts, serve em up! =)

Large grassy field with nice shade from the trees

I found this little gem of a park this past weekend when I wanted to explore other options besides the crowded Lake down the road. Sometimes my dog can be a little bark-y with new dogs, so I wanted a quiet place to get some exercise in without the extra stress. This was a nice park, with a huge grassy baseball field, some tennis courts, a sandy volleyball court, and some kid's playground equipment. I love how there are lots of trees and shaded areas so you don't have the sun beating down on you nonstop. I think we will continue to come to this park when we need a break from the popular park down the street.

I love this park it's so great, lush with real grass everywhere. Perfect place to take the dog for a walk or the kids to the jungle gym area - it's covered to protect the kids from the sun and all made out of rubber/plastic to protect the kids if it's super hot outside. The tennis courts are in great shape and have lights! There is also a baseball field and basketball court. Great, hidden away park. Would be an awesome place to take a blanket, picnic and date ;)

Sitting there enjoying the day before it gets hot. I'll make this review short & sweet. :) Driving around my neighborhood, I found this cute park on Wigwam Pkwy, right in front of Selma Bartlett Elementary. My son enjoys the little kids playground. Its a little run-down, but adequate. There's also a baseball field where there's a kids' game going on right now! Volleyball court, tennis court, benches in the shade, and a restroom provided with drinking fountain. A great big grassy area so lots of dog-walkers roaming around. Not much more you can ask for in a park. We'll be back... :)

The splash pad here is one of the largest splash pad at Henderson parks. It is spread out to give kids plenty of space to splash and play. It has a variety of features too. The splash pad is conveniently located next to a set of bathrooms and changing stalls. One of my favorite things about this park is all the green grass out in open spaces. I love having all the open space to let my toddler safely run. A lot of people bring blankets and hang out or have a picnic. The playground is good for about three years and up. A lot of the climbing features would be too big for really little ones. There are also two big slides in the side of a hill. There aren't any swings at this playground. There is a large covered pavilion area in between the playground and splash pad. It's large enough to be rented out for two different parties. We attended a toddler birthday party here and it was a nice space for that. The city should put up signs that the pavilions are paid rentals though. My friend arrived to find a party happening in the area she rented. The other party didn't know rentals were to be arranged through the city. She felt bad and gave up some of her rental space because she didn't want to ruin a kid's birthday party. Another cool thing about Mission Hills is the shaved ice truck that has a permanent spot when it's hot out. How perfect to be able to grab shaved ice when playing in the heat.
