His kindness, competence, team, systems, and problem-solving abilities are unmatched. Not to mention, he secured the best rate for us--and we got five different quotes! I live in a 1976 ranch style house that had not been well maintained or updated (original siding…read moreand gutters, dated fixtures and cabinets, awful carpet throughout). I've been slowly repairing, maintaining, and upgrading everything in the house as time and resources allowed, but I needed some extra cash for some of the larger projects around the home. I was directed by two coworkers that had used Venture in the past with great success, so I met with Tony Benallo and we discussed my options. I ended up with a mortgage that was about $200 a month more than I had been paying, but my credit cards and two home improvement loans were paid off entirely, saving me several hundred dollars a month at a much better interest rate. My mortgage insurance was also eliminated. Diane Tappy helped me through the entire process, and while doing anything involving a mortgage or refinance isn't entirely fun, it was relatively painless thanks to her expertise. I would absolutely recommend Venture to anyone looking to refinance their home. Tony and Diane helped me find what was right for me, and I'm excited to finish the remodel thanks to them.

My husband and I were referred to Grover from a trusted friend while purchasing a new home…read more He was very informative throughout the entire process and he always made himself available for questions throughout the process. Due to the crazy housing market, we bought the new home before selling our existing home, which creates an interesting debt ratio and Grover informed us that underwriters would be happier if we sold our cheaper car (or paid it off). We actually ended up selling our more expensive car that we planned to sell before moving anyway, but the dealership dragged their feet starting the process (first party dealership relative to the finance company). This created a headache for Grover's team because the car financing was left open due to the incredible slowness of the dealership (it took over three weeks for the car loan to be closed out and over a month to get paid!), but he worked with us to get an exception letter for the underwriters. Unrelated lesson learned: pay off the car, then sell it, if time matters and you have the resources. Ultimately, we plan to use Grover again the next time that we move.

However, I don't believe we would have accomplished what we needed to--understanding our budgeting, offering on one home, moving to a different home, and ultimately ending up with a better interest rate and an accelerated closing date--if we had gone that direction this time. Most importantly, though, we valued having someone to connect with who walked us through these processes, communicated genuinely, and acted as a great sounding board to iron out issues along the way. Thank you again to Emily, Jennifer & team for helping us land our dream home and making a super stressful time smoother than it could have been. We appreciate all of your hard work for us.

I can't say enough good things about Laura! We have worked with her numerous times in the past on…read morepurchases and refis, but on our most recent home purchase this past month, she really went above and beyond the already high standard she had set! Experience in the mortgage industry is invaluable, as is customer service. With Laura, you'll reap the benefit of her extensive experience delivered with amazing customer service. She knows her stuff and has many resources and contacts in the industry, which allows her to find the best product to fit your mortgage needs at a competitive rate. She provides personalized and friendly service. She puts your mind at ease and you can count on her to get the job done well and in a timely manner. The contrast of how good she is compared to what else is out there was vastly evident in our recent purchase. The real estate agent representing the people we purchased our home from was initially hesitant to work with Laura and Georgetown Mortgage because she had not heard of them, but the agent ended up being very impressed by Laura's professionalism and good work. Laura had all of our documents ready in plenty of time for the closing on our new house, and was physically present at the closing to assure things went smoothly, which they absolutely did. On the flip side, the people who bought our home used a big-name bank for their loan (U.S. Bank - am I allowed to say that?) Anyway, the buyers of our house had problem after problem with U.S. Bank which ultimately affected them AND us AND the people we were trying to buy a home from. Despite having ample time, U.S. Bank failed to collect documents and information necessary to close on our scheduled closing date. Then, instead of trying to hurry and fix their mistake, U.S. Bank dragged their feet and displayed complete apathy toward everyone involved. U.S. Bank blew everyone off, lied, did nothing, avoided answering the phone, never returned messages...it was a nightmare! In the end, U.S. Bank closed three days after the originally scheduled date, and didn't wire the money from the proceeds of the sale of our home to the sellers of our new home until hours after the actual closing, which affected when we could finalize closing and possession on our new home. As we were all sitting around the closing table at the purchase of our new home, the realtor representing the sellers of our new home could see what an amazing job Laura at Georgetown Mortgage did and she could also see what a horrible job U.S. Bank did. After that experience, I'm pretty sure that realtor changed her opinion of lesser-known lenders and started being wary of the big-name ones! Without a doubt, I would confidently recommend Laura Leavy as a mortgage professional - her experience, industry knowledge, and customer service are top notch!
