I loved this little winery! I finished before the rest of my group at the Titanic Museum so I walked to this winery. You can do 3 tastings for free, 5 for $5 or 12 for $10. The blackberry wine was super good. The bartender was very knowledgeable. After I finished the tasting, I got a glass of the blackberry wine and sat on their back porch. It was very warm and enjoyable to sit out in the fresh air and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Also had their smoked Gouda cheese! It was so good I bought a block to take home. read more

Mountain Valley Winery Review While in Pigeon Forge, we made a stop at Mountain Valley Winery, and it ended up being such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We decided on a tasting of five different wines, and our wine specialist made it even better by sharing helpful tasting tips along the way. Every wine we sampled was delicious, and we even got to try a couple of their wine slushies--such a fun bonus! In the end, we settled on the watermelon wine to enjoy there, and I picked up a peach wine to bring home. After our tasting, we headed to their beautiful outdoor seating area, where we could sip our wine, take in the mountain views, and snap a few photos. We recently came by Mountain Valley Winery for a tasting. You get to try 4 for free. Between my husband and me, here is what we tried - some we tried the same. *Muscadine Sweet Tea - I did not try this one as I don't like sweet tea, but my husband really liked this one as you got both the sweet tea and muscadine flavors. It was definitely different than anything of what he has had before. *Muscadine - it's good, better muscadine flavor than what I remembered, but still better muscadine wines out there. *Southern Peach - it's good, but still have had better peach wines. *Mountain Berry - my husband liked this one more than me. *Tropical paradise - a bit of flavor going on, it's good. *Mountain Valley Red - it's good, and also better than what I remembered. While the wines were fine, I wasn't necessarily wowed by any of them. Nothing remarkable to take a bottle home, except for the muscadine sweet tea for the husband. Service was just okay, gloomy rainy day must have caused for some gloomy service. read more

We went for the rocky top free wine trail (which isn't really that free but still worth it and fun). We really really liked it. Of all the stops, this was the most all inclusive. I like sweet wines which is ideal for wineries in this area but my boyfriend likes more dry wines and they had a whole separate menu with dry wines for him so we were both happy. The wine was all super good and wished we went back again but they were closed the day/time we wanted to go again. read more

We did a wine tasting here and it was alright. Nothing terrible about it but if you're a big wine person I would not recommend. So I need to be honest here, we define a good wine by the cab or any "jammy" wine. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is just OK; the grapes are just not near a California Cab. He guy who served us was great and we had our fills for our wines. We also picked up our wine shipment (we are Rocky Top Wine Club members) and they were prompt with bringing that out. For each winery, we have 1-2 wines we like except for Hillside, which has more that we like. read more

I am visiting Tennessee and we stumbled on this winery. It seemed nice and wasn't very busy. I ordered a glass of wine, and was told it was $15!! I was later told that the price included the glass itself--something the staff never explained beforehand. A bottle was only a little over $20, so the pricing felt confusing and unclear. At no point was I asked if I wanted to actually purchase the glass, nor was it made clear if it was even possible to just buy a glass of wine without it. As a guest, I left feeling a bit taken advantage of, which unfortunately overshadowed the experience. read more

I genuinely enjoyed the wine slushes. We did a wine tasting and tried all 4 flavors. Our favorite was the white sangria, by far. Took some fun pictures and then got a wine slush with an edible lime straw to go drink on their patio. They have 2 covered patios for you to enjoy a drink on. Wow! If you are a lover of sweet or semi sweet wine, you must sample and then purchase the wines at Mountain Valley Vineyards when visiting the Smoky Mountains. Outstanding wines and a staff that not only knows their wines, but are the friendliest and attentive we have experienced. Got review from TripAdvisor that this place was the #2 destination to hit . Went there expecting a tasting, your and some info about how and where the wine is made. To say it was disappointing is an understatement! Our tasting was less then 10 minutes, the server was short with us, didn't really even interact and gave no information about the wine just asking us what 4 wines did we want to taste. The wine was good, tasting portion was almost not enough to taste. The building was clean, well taken care of and we did go away with some wine. I would not recommend the server or the tasting. While my family was vacationing we drove past this business and made sure to make a mental note to stop by before the end of our trip. Let me just say we do not regret this decision at all. Service: The employees were all very helpful and attentive to our needs throughout the tasting. It was free and included 3 tastings of our choice. We were kind of indecisive considering we wanted to ensure everyone vacationing with us of age would be pleased with our selections. They were. The mountain peach was a hit with my family and good thing it was because we purchased 2 box kits. Thankfully the staff was very patient with us as decided. Covid: Those helping us taste and checkout wore masks from what I can recall and there was signage around the location asking customers to wear them as well. Which we appreciated. Parking: There is a very nice sized parking lot with ample parking so finding a spot shouldn't be an issue and it wasn't for us. On our way to the titanic museum we came across this place & figure why not check it out. We came in they offer free wine tasting u get to try 5-6 wines? Don't recall we definitely tried them all as well as the frozen ones & they were all very good. The white wines were a little better in taste, some of the reds were too sweet. In the end we ended up buying bottle of the Mountain Berry wine this is a red, a little sweet but not too bad it was the best one which we really liked so we got a bottle $20 bucks not too bad. We had wanted to buy the frozen wine to go but they didn't have large cups or plastic ones available just a small glass one we didn't want to carry that but would have gotten the frozen one if they had plastic the Peach one was really good. They guy who did the tasting was nice, cute little place .. can't go wrong w a free try we enjoyed it. read more

This was our first stop on the wine trail, they have several stops. Imma tell ya'll right off I will be back to complete the other stops!! The place was clean and accommodating for all, customer service was a plus. All the staff were super friendly. Lots of shopping if you are looking for a special gift. Our host was wonderful, lots of tasting tables with plenty of room so you are not all up on each other. I tasted numerous wine along with the slush wines. I bought my favorite Cherry Lavender Honey wine which was a specialty wine they make once a yr. Yassss it was super Yummy....all the slushies were good also. I cant remember all the names. All the wine is reasonable priced. They also do tours every thru out the day. Con: I like to visit the vineyards when tasting, but dont let this deter you from visiting. Our host Cesar was incredible! So knowledgeable of the wines (that were all delicious) and was very patient with us. The chill atmosphere set a wonderful vibe and I'd recommend doing a wine tasting here as soon as possible. We stopped here as the second stop on the Rocky Top Wine Trail. The few wines we tried were okay. We would have stayed longer and tried more than the free tasting, but the customer service was appalling. Our wine server, Kristen, was rude, dismissive and condescending. We tried to lighten up her sour demeanor, by asking questions and were on the receiving end of eye rolls and snarky comments, at one point after I asked a question she snapped, "You don't have to buy it!" Which she said more than once. This was our least favorite stop on the tour and the only stop we didn't pay for more tastings or buy any wine. After reading other reviews I understand we are not the only people on the receiving end of Kristen's ire. Unfortunately you have to stop here if you want all your stamps on the wine trail, otherwise I recommend you skip this winery. read more

I was in Pigeon Forge, TN, for the 'Shades of the Past' car show and saw the Tennessee Wine Tour 10th Anniversary ad. As I headed to Mountain Valley Winery I was excited to taste their wines. This winery opened in 1991 right on the 'strip' in Pigeon Forge and has produced many award wining wines. Rhubarb is one of their best selling sweet wines and it was very good! If you like Rhubarb Pie you would love this. It was totally tastebud teasing, just like Rhubarb Pie in a glass! Besides wine tasting this winery offers tours, watching the bottling process and if you're lucky you might even see the grapes being crushed. Mountain Valley's main focus is on French and German style wines but they also have a big selection of sweet wines, which I prefer, like muscadine. read more
