While waiting for our table to be ready at the place next door, we did a little shopping. A nice variety of merchandise, branded for the area. A little pricey, but it wasnt that bad. I have seen worse. My wife and I bought a couple of heavy coffee mugs with bear and wolf paw prints on them, made by Muddy Llama Pottery, a local artist. Should have bought a third, because my son has hijacked mine. Will come back again next time we are in the area.

She watched our granddaughter like a hawk with her hand on her hip almost the entire time. After a few minutes, it became obvious that our business wasn't wanted. Additionally, there's a big handwritten sign about properly wearing masks, which we did. The owner however, kept pulling hers down when she would talk to the other gentlemen working. I don't know if they're related but her sign is pretty clear on what's acceptable and what's not. I don't mind this sort of demand by business owners as long as they follow their own rules. My advice is to go next door. There's 2 much nicer and friendlier shops next to this one, who are actually glad to see you walk into their business

My wife and son were looking around since my wife had found a pair of shoes she liked. My daughter came to me saying she needed to go to the bathroom, so I took her across the street. We were gone at the most 5 minutes. As we were walking back up to the store a clerk met me at the door saying " Were closed". I explained that my wife and son were still inside the business. Once back inside the staff was soooooo rude. They began immediately tell us they were closing and to check out. My wife explained she was waiting on one of the employees to come back with the shoes in the size she was needing, but they continued to rush her saying well we will go ahead and ring you up while you wait. They also did not like the fact my daughter went to get an item she had seen earlier. They also have me nasty looks as I walked toward the shot glass selection. I collect these and would have purchased one quickly if the clerk's had been a little nicer. As we were leaving it felt as if the employees were pushing us out of the business. We come to Chimney Rock once a year and have always gone to Chimney Sweeps. Never again with the attitude displayed by the staff will I spend my money in this store!!!! So disappointed!!!!

Adam had to go to the rest room and Mary did not hesitate to let us use the restroom. Then as we were shopping, she came up and asked if my son could have some glow in the dark ducks. We are in the hotel room and he has them lined up under the light and is excited to turn the night off tonight. Mary made this experience extra special.
