Update I spoke to the service manager today and after a long…read moreconversation and clearing up our miss communications we corrected the issue completely. From Robin in the office to Mason here at my home and Tim fixing everything we are on track to doing more business. Thanks guys for understanding the problem and resolving it totally.

In July of 2024 the air conditioner in my house stopped working. I then did what most people would…read moredo and contacted Lowe's. They then referred me to Appalachian Heating. I called and was connected with Stephanie Gray. Stephanie told me to abandon the purchase with Lowe's and to go with one of their units. I told her that I have always been happy with Lowe's and would like to stick with purchasing one from them. She then went out to the property and told me which unit I would need to purchase, to fit my house. I then made the purchase. After that, she told me to make a deposit of $1,283.50 to get the installation started and I paid it. The installation was then scheduled. When the first date we scheduled approached, it was canceled and rescheduled. Then, the second date arrived and they began installation. As it turned out, they had me purchase a wrong device, that was sold separately from the Forced Air unit and said they'd be back in a couple of days. A couple of days turned into approximately 3 weeks. They came back out to put the "correct" device in and then told me that the whole unit won't wire correctly to my house. They told me I had to pay an additional $1,500 to correct their error. They told me to purchase this unit, and that it would fit. If it doesn't fit, then they need to return the unit and get the correct one, or install whatever wiring is needed to make it correctly fit my house. They are trying to pretend it isn't their problem that it is a wiring issue. That is the very problem, they told me to buy this unit and if there is a wiring issue, the above two avenues are the way to fix it and they need to do so. Since this occurrence, Stephanie no longer works there. When I reported what she had said to me, they tried to tell me, oh well, we have no way of knowing what she said she no longer works here. I told them I do have proof of what she said I have the emails and I sent them the screenshots which I am also going to display on this review. I now have tenants living in the house that have no heat, because of this issue. This they are doing to a 9 year veteran of the Army as I deal with the aftermath of both hurricanes Helene and Milton. I do not have to deal with now being gouged by this company, especially at a time like this. So, if you intend to deal with this company, make sure to look at these reviews and take them seriously. This is what you are in for, in making such a decision as to use them. As you can see, other people who have used them have also experienced this EXACT same attempt to squeeze them for more money. They replied to this review and my statement still stands. Thus, it isn't compatible with my electrical connection and you shouldn't have had me purchase this. You are the professional and should have known that. You should have had me purchase one that would have been compatible. In other words, the response backs up my complaint entirely, and I hope everybody reading this is paying attention to that statement that THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY has made. In fact, I am taking a screenshot to post, in case he tries to take down such a pathetic attempt at addressing this issue.

I cannot put into words how disappointing this experience was. There was the initial meeting (aka…read morethe sales pitch) where David stated he is always on time and always cheaper than everyone. He quoted $1600 to run water lines from a soon to be installed water heater. I had a small project at another house that needed to be done first. Two visits from quality. The first David was an hour and a half late. Showed up and looked, quoted $250-270 and left but first made the comment he would count the visit as a free estimate. I had no reason to believe it wasn't a free estimate as all plumbers give that. Then the second visit, again over an hour and a half late, I text and asked when I could expect them. I was told one of his workers should have been here already. No notice, no update and certainly not notified this random stranger would be appearing at my door. Job was completed and the price tag went up. AFTER the fact I was notified. This morning I was supposed to have the original desperately needed plumbing completed. (It's been scheduled two weeks). I get a message saying he forgot to add in $180 For an install of the water heater. Then he tells me he can't remember job after job because he has so many. Before I can answer his barrage of text defending himself and explaining how his mistake yet again couldn't possibly be his fault, he left us hanging saying to go find another plumber. I hadn't said a word at this point other than questioning the charge. The comical part of all of this is that I live in Pulaski. My very first contact with him was asking if he serviced Pulaski. His answer? Yes. In his text rant today he advised I was pulling him 45 minutes out of his service area to give an estimate and because of that I should be grateful because he'd saved me money. My husband text him this morning from a different number and asked him if he serviced Pulaski... once again "yes". Which is it? Yes or no lol. (this portion of my review which was an opinion as opposed to facts as the rest of my review entails has been removed after receiving a threatening letter from a Blacksburg attorney representing David insisting I remove my negative comment. As David indicated this is a review site that he subscribed to and I am in fact giving a review. The service was not great and therefore the review reflects that. My response to his response: Regarding his response, since he chose to "out" me and call me by full name, something protected by this very site, I will respond to his claims. David never did any of the work for me. He sent over an unlicensed employee that earned wages of $14/hr. His claim of me only paying $300 for six hours (hours are not correct) seems substantial vs the $84 he would pay his employee for this same time period. He claimed I was so satisfied that I asked for other work. In fact the only other project we had discussed was on 9/12/2019. Two months before the single service provided was performed. I did in fact ask the gentleman that helped us if he was licensed if HE would consider further work, not David. David stated he never refused me any work when his exact text message was "Pulaski is a very long way from my service area. I spent over 45 minutes driving out to your location. I spent over an hour giving you a free estimate which I normally do not do. Then I spent another 45 minutes driving back to my main service area. I have already saved you money. I would like you to go ahead and find another plumber. Tried to add money to the estimate that was not written up: not only did David tell me it was absolutely necessary to get a water heater but told me for $1600 he would attach multiple lines to it to plumb a new bathroom. He told me to purchase a rheem performance 40 gallon water heater in the amount of $364. Not only did I purchase this by his direction but an additional $400 in supplies to complete the discussed projects.ordered .payed for. and waiting for the plumber that never came. David commented that my comments hurt him deeply. I assure everyone reading this that being promised punctuality always and told he always sticks to his quotes and then being left hanging multiple times, multiple quote changes and ultimately searching for a new plumber hurt me. An apology, a compromise or anything else that one could have expected from the "best plumber" could have left a better taste in this reviewers mouth but the facts stand. David chose to take a legal response.

David was able to schedule a shower repair on short notice, saving me from not having a working…read moreshower for my mother-in-law over Thanksgiving. His associate had to do more work than anticipated when there was no access panel and the wrong (non-copper) piping. David came to the house from an emergency plumbing job to ensure that I got to a work meeting on time. I had a great experience with Quality Plumbing Services.
