Dr. Cook is fantastic. His staff appear to follow his lead in their care of the patient and in carrying out their assigned patient tasks. This begins with signing in as you enter the office building through to your discharge with copy of return appointment, any referrals and prescriptions to your pharmacy. Dr. Cook has a great knowledge of the eye and all that entails and in his ability to make his findings well understood by the patient. There is no time constraint when he is with his patient. He is very personable and puts the patient at ease, feeling that he is in the best caring hands available. I am a retired Registered Nurse and am perhaps very alert to how I am cared for. I can tell you, without reservation, I have never had better care or felt more trusting in what I am told in regard to my condition. I cannot recommend him high enough. He is a Blessed man and the area is very fortunate to have him as a physician and an individual. read more

We've been going to Mt. Empire for 30 years. The drs. are thoughtful, take the time to talk and listen (even though our daughter has many disabilities). My husband has a condition the recurs frequently, and he is always treated correctly. Sometimes you do have to wait, but it is because they do their jobs AND take the time to listen. They have treated us for glaucoma, cataracts, uveitis and other problems. read more

I went in after having cataract surgery in my home state of Texas. Check up..fine. Status of eyes....fine. The dr suggests I do a quick little 3 minute thing where they use what they call a laser to clear a little fog...totally optional. 3 MINUTES!! So I say sure it's only 3 minutes or so, and it basically feels like blowing air on the eye. I get a bill for $800 per EYE. $1,600!. My insurance pays some and I am left with over $400 left. At no time did they say, " Hey it's only 3 minutes but it's $1600". I tried to clear this up and I went in and talked to the human (but I don't think they were a person) behind the counter and the lame, idiotic excuse she gave was, "It's done over in the other building next door." They would not budge and so I fired them. And I told them this review on Yelp was coming. It is the most usurious, unethical price gouging I've have personally seen in 67 years of life. The point? You had better have them first give you a printed list of all things they are going to do .... or be prepared for the consequences. read more

Just back from there without seeing a Doctor. I arrived 10 minutes early for my follow up appointment. Was quickly seen by the Tech who dilates your eyes etc. Then out to the second waiting room where I sat for over an hour. At the hour point I asked the lady behind the counter if I had perhaps been forgotten. She said no and said I was next. 20 minutes later I still had not been called and went to the counter as I had another appointment that day that I could not miss. She said I was next as soon as they had a room available. I asked if the Doctor was available to see me and she said not yet. Well, I had to go, so I asked for my prescription which the tech had written down. I was told that although they had it they could not give it to me until the Doctor signed it. She asked if I wanted to reschedule another appointment. I declined and left. There are many other eye doctors in our area that provide reliable professional service. I will be seeing one. read more

Dr Bunning is very caring and thorough. He takes his time and explains everything. While I don't care for the "assembly line" process, I do like the quality of care provided by Dr. Bunning. My in-laws also go to him and feel the same way. TIP: Arrive early and you'll be seen early. Seems like appointment time doesn't mean anything. I arrived 5 minutes early for an appointment. Another patient arrive immediately AHEAD of me. His appointment was 45 minutes AFTER mine. He was taken ahead of me! read more
