    King bed, rustic headboard.

Well...... I want to start by saying this is a true inn, all rooms are entered from the outside no elevator and stair every 20 rooms approx. From the outside and inside lobby you can tell this place has been here for awhile it's dated but the rooms have just under gone a much needed face lift. We came for a two night, three day getaway durning the spring azalea bloom at Callaway Gardens. We were upgraded for free to a garden view room, sweet!! Positives: The rooms are spacious, clean, new flat screen TV's, new furniture, fresh paint, rustic head boards on bed. Great view in garden view rooms. Huge well maintained grassy area on property perfect picnic spot, kite flying, let kids blow off energy they can run until their hearts are content. Negatives: balcony not private, semi private at best small opens allow people (kids) to pass from balcony to balcony. Bathrooms are clean and most fixtures are new but it looks they tried to refinish the shower tub combo, still very dated looking. The Restaurant - Vineyard Green Lounge in the lobby is OK at best, service lacks a bit. Staff seemed very slow had to ask for more tea, and for my debit card to be ran at the end of the meal.

    Dirty sheets

I was really surprised when my husband said he got a pkg for $235. He was really surprised when he saw the "motor lodge" we were staying. Outside doors, two floors. Super old. Restaurant is called "Spirt of 52". Might have been when inn was built. Good pillows. Ok beds. Rooms definitely need major facelifts. Went to put shower mat down and it was totally wet. Like they had put folded after last guest.

This place is old and outdated. The carpet smelled, I had buy candles and cleaning supplies just to feel comfortable.

Disgusting tub, faded color turning grey and a big missing chip of porcelain.

We wanted to visit Callaway Gardens for the Hot Air Balloon Festival over Labor Day, but didn't want to go if the weather was bad. Written policies made it sound like we would lose our money if we didn't cancel three days out. Consequently, we booked at the last minute after package deals had sold out and chose a King room with Garden View for $159. During booking we found out that cancellation would result in a credit good for up to a year, something not made clear on the website. The website said all rooms were refurbished in 2013. It's important to pay attention to language. My mind thought "new." Upon check-in and getting to our room, it had a rustic feel and definitely still felt like an older hotel with a 1950's vibe. Many furnishings were just older furniture that had been given a new coat of paint. The bathroom floor, sink and toilet were new, but the tub was shocking - old, faded color that had turned grey with a big chip of porcelain missing from one corner, bordering on disgusting. Thin walls and neighbors who stayed up late talking and listening to the radio combined to make it feel like they were sitting on the edge of our bed. And to top it off, the smoke alarm went off around 6am. It took 30 minutes before maintenance showed up and changed the battery. We did not get a good night's sleep. And if I'm going to nitpick, one of my pet peeves is bedside clocks that are wrong. Ours was off by 40 minutes. That should be on every housekeeper's checklist, to check the clock and know how to reset it. And unlike newer hotels, there's a lack of outlet/plugs for devices. I suspect that's why the clock was wrong. It got unplugged so the outlet could be used for a cell phone or laptop. And Garden View, especially at Callaway Gardens, implies something more than a swath of crabgrass studded lawn fronted by a highway with a few holes of a golf course and a lake in the distance. Neither the lush Great lawn nor scenic view they describe. By no stretch of the imagination would I have ever thought this would qualify as a garden view. And the patio was nothing more than a continuous slab of concrete barely the width of a sidewalk. Empty soda bottles and dirty cups had been left on the table on our patio. A bit disappointing and it certainly didn't meet the expectations of a $159 room. The only saving grace is that garden admission is included in the price, a jacked up $30 per person, per day for the holiday weekend. There's also a rather ungenerous 4pm check-in time and 11am check-out time, somewhat off the industry standards of 3pm and noon. Which partly explains the outrageously long lines to check in at 4pm. For the price, I'd be hard pressed to stay at the Mountain Creek Inn again.

As a return guest I was excited to visit Callaway Gardens for the new year and booked a 3 night stay. I woke up morning 1 to the roof of my hotel room substantially leaking. Loud enough to wake me. I immediately contacted the front desk, it took over an hour to get a maintenance man out who walked in the room and said "Whoa" as he saw the leak. He said he had to get a "patch kit and would return. After waiting another 45 mins I called the desk again to ask for a new room, I was transferred then when I called back they picked up the phone and immediately placed me on hold several times. Obviously all hotels can see which room is calling and I was purposefully being ignored. The man who checked me in the night before finally very professionally answered saying he had just arrived and would let the manager know about the situation. She was on break. 20 mins later still waiting. The worst service I've ever experienced at a hotel. Hands down.

Where do I begin?? The level of accommodations here versus the Lodge and Spa are in opposite directions. For first time visitors don't even consider the Mountain Inn, it is like a Motel 6. There is NO elevator to the second floor and all the rooms open to the outside so the tiny crawling critters can come right under the door. Our room had a door malfunction. We used two different keys which we had to travel up and down the stairs to he front desk. Then finally the facilities person had to come to assist. We spent the night in a room that we could not open the door from the inside. Luckily out adjoining room was people we were traveling with and we could get out through their room. FIRE HAZARD!! We paid for a fridge in our room but it never cool enough to keep the baby's milk cold. By the Way- we were here for a business meeting. Our parties were place all over and the conference/meeting center was a distance that required hiking or driving your car to the location. The good of this experience was the food and the wait staff. Food was very tasty. The wait staff were excellent, friendly and helpful-Thanks to them.

I wish the landscaping in the courtyard was a bit better being that it is a Callaway Garden's property but that was my only criticism.

The flowers were completely wrong, and the coordinator--who was new--caused several issues, including handing out corsages and boutonnieres to the wrong guests. The timeline wasn't followed, and the flow of the event felt disjointed. My photographer even had to step in to help coordinate, which is definitely not part of her job. While I understand that the coordinator was new, it was still very frustrating, especially for the amount we were paying. My advice: choose the cheapest package and pick your own vendors for a smoother experience. The venue is beautiful, but the lack of professionalism and organization made for a stressful day.

We started a list of problems but eventually stopped because it was just exhausting. I could make this review ten pages long with specific problems but it would lead to the same conclusion. This place is an expensive dump. The owners clearly don't care and are milking this chalet for every penny they can get. They are slum lords, full stop, and I wish we had carefully read the reviews of this disgusting place before we paid $6900 for a weeks stay. To be fair (and this explains the uneven reviews) there are a lot of chalets on site and some are in way better shape then others. Sadly the largest chalet (#62), and likely most expensive, is in derelict disrepair. Under no circumstances should you stay here, unless you wish a bag full of fleas, filth and black mold to take home as souvenirs of your "visit" to the Pine Mountain Resort Chalets.

Phone in the room didn't work. Lights didn't come on. Found a bagel with a bite out of it in the microwave. Worst of all was the WiFi and the service. My first two times staying here my room was in the building connected to the lobby. This time however I was in the second building which is not attached to the first. The Wi-Fi in this building does not work at all. I went down to complain and asked to be moved but was told the first building was completely full. The employee tried to tell me that it must be my devices that aren't connecting. Yet I can get Wi-Fi perfectly fine in the lobby and around the first building but when I went to my room. His response was that no other guest have complained. I asked other guests around my room if they could get Wi-Fi and the answers were a resounding no. They say they have free Wi-Fi but it only works for one of the two buildings so you just have to get lucky I guess. The staff was so rude that I canceled my reservation and will never come back. The person who "greeted" me upon check in asked me repeatedly if I had a dog with me in an accusatory fashion, like I was trying to sneak a dog in. She really got kind of weird about it, LOL, people must sneak dogs in a lot - but it only costs $10 to bring a dog, so this should have alerted me to the quality of both the hotel and clients. Alas, what do you do at 9:00 PM in rural GA after a 9 hour drive? Suck it up, right?! So, the dog inquisition was kind of strange but mildly amusing. I mean, really, what do you expect, it is $77 hotel in Pine Mountain, GA. But, it gets worse. Dried food (I hope it was food - this is my best guess) on the carpet, hair and filth in the corners of the bathrooms, filthy tub/drain. Drunk people pounding and screaming on my door at 3:30 AM to come out so they could kick my a**...not sure what this was all about, but when we called down to the office for assistance, they told us to call the police if we needed help. It's all pretty funny in a gross and redneck way in retrospect. However, I will never stay there again and I would be hard pressed to stay at any Days Inn in the future. For $80.00, I stayed at a La Quinta in Ocala, Florida (another small town) that was quiet, neat and clean with a friendly staff.
