Great visit to Kaaterskill Falls on Wednesday, October 7, 2026…read more Decided to visit mid-week to avoid the crowds as it approached peak fall colors...I think October 7th was a bit too early...another week or so would have been better for colors. I have read that the Main Trailhead Lot (Laurel House Road), closest to the waterfall trails, fills up quickly during the fall. I arrived there at 8:30am and was the 9th car in the 40-50-capacity parking lot. When I left at 11:30am, the lot was full and staff was routing visiting from the main road (North Lake Road) to the Scutt Road parking lot...which is a bit further away from the falls. Once parked, the fall viewing platform was a short 0.1 mile walk. It offers some lovely views of the falls from higher up. From there, the walk to the lower falls was about 0.5 miles, but be advised that there are lots of steps (over 300) to get from the top of the falls to the bottom of the falls. You can walk even further from the base of the falls, along Spruce Creek, toward Route 23A and you will get to Bastion Falls. Since I arrived earlier, there were too many people on the trails...which made picture-taking a lot easier. I suspect the crowds increase as the area approached peak fall colors and on the weekends...so plan accordingly. The falls were great...I actually preferred the lower falls viewing area, for its consistent lighting and heavier waterfall flow. The upper was very high but the flow wasn't as heavy. The park is well-maintained with efficient trail marking and directional signage throughout. Free to park and enter the park/waterfall area. Port a potties in parking lot...are as clean as you can expect from a popular public parking port a potty.

Be prepared, the trail down to the falls is very long and while its quite easy going down ,getting…read moreback up is a definitely a treck. It's so worth it though. If however you decide not to go down to the bottom, there is a viewing platform . The waterfall pressure/flow can vary depending on when you visit. Heavy after rain or less during the summer months. Swimming is allowed in the basin , the water is cold . The fall and parking are free in designated parking lots. There was a porta potty in tje lot we parked in. Not sure if there's one in each parking lot though. Don't park anywhere along the roads as you will get ticketed and/or towed. Arrive early aa the parking lots fill up quickly, especially on weekends. Personally I wouldn't do this trail on a rainy day especially if you're a beginner. Lots of stepping stones that can be slippery when wet. Other than that it's one of the most beautiful trails I've been on.

I haven't been to Belleayre mountain since I a little kid. Honestly, I appreciate it so much more now that I'm paying for my own ski pass. I loved how fast each of the lines moved and there honestly wasn't many people on the mountain at all. I really enjoyed all of their different trails. From tricky double black diamonds and really fun blues, to chill greens and even a fun terrain trail, the mountain had a ton to offer. They even had nice little sections that went through the trees, that weren't too difficult to navigate. If you're a beginner, they also have a really nifty learning center up at the TOP of the mountain. You literally have to take a gondola up the mountain to reach it.. which is just super cool and something I haven't seen anywhere else. I was about to take a star off because of the very blase (pronounced: blazzay) attitudes of the gen-z staff that work at the rental section. I rented a helmet and that just made it a bit of an awkward experience. Though I decided to keep the star as their bartender service more than made up for it. They were so chill and welcoming, and didn't even flinch when I asked about non-alcoholic beers.. which they had ice-cold and ready to go!

At the lounge area, they have a place to drink and a food gallery. They have soups, chillies, burgers, fried tenders, Mac and cheese, pizza, premade sandwiches and salad. They also have vegaritan options. Our only downfall is the distance from nyc to the ski resort. Almost 2 -2.5 hrs. Also, if you can, go on the weekdays. Prices are alot cheaper and less crowded. We would come again.

My husband took me as a birthday present last year, and it was so good that we had to go back again and I felt compelled to shared why. Victoria Balentine is the owner of the farm and the yoga instructor, and I cannot rave about her enough. She used to be a yoga teacher in NYC and, in addition to goat yoga, she is currently practicing as a wellness healer licensed in acupuncture and other holistic healing medicines. For that reason, she comes from a place of true genuine care and has such a great vibe. She has such a calming presence and she makes sure that everyone was comfortable and had ample goat experience. The goat yoga class itself PHENOMENAL. The goats were incredibly playful and affectionate, and it was so relaxing to do yoga while surrounded by them. Having them around while practicing yoga truly brings out your inner child :) After the yoga class, I took a farm tour with Victoria and her husband, where I learned all about the baby yoga goats as well as their mothers! The goat mothers were so sweet I couldnt tell you if the babies or mothers were cuter! We also met her adorable chickens and saw them laying eggs! She showed us how she milks the goats and makes a variety of amazing cheeses. She also grows all her own food and eats completely seasonally. I was so inspired by the humane and sustainable farming practices that the farm uses that every since then my husband and I have tried to adopt a seasonal diet and eat local whenever possible. Overall, I had such an incredible time at the goat yoga farm and farm tour with cheese tasting that we came back again the next year. This is an experience I highly recommend to everyone! Here are some of the things I loved most about my experience: The goats were so adorable and playful and bring out your inner child The yoga class was relaxing and fun. The goat yoga teacher/farm owner is phenomenal and inspirational The farm tour was so interesting and beautiful The cheese tasting was delicious. The farm is committed to humane and sustainable farming practices. If you're looking for a unique and enjoyable experience, I highly recommend visiting a goat yoga farm and taking a farm tour with cheese tasting. You won't be disappointed!
