Mountain Brook farm, Sophie in particular, just MADE our anniversary weekend. My Girlfriend and I called up the farm for a short-term booking just yesterday, and were signed up for a noon time ride today. Even though we were almost running late, we were given a comprehensive safety review. The staff also provided us with hand sanitizer and disinfected helmets (all while also wearing masks). We were taught the basics of how to control and work with our horses (which were matched very well to our personalities). Neither of us had ever ridden a horse before, but our trail guide, Sophie, made us feel welcomed and did an excellent job of leading our tour. Within minutes, we were feeling comfortable on our horses and really enjoying the ride. It was a wonderful hour with beautiful vistas and varied environments. Sophie also took lovey photos of us, allowing us to leave our phones and other valuables in the car. The ride offered enough challenge to keep us physically and mentally engaged, but made us (two FIRST TIME riders) feel like real "cowboys" (ha). They took the time to disinfect our helmets post-ride, and kept the whole experience very clean (even during a pandemic). We loved the ride, our horses, and the staff. Mountain Brook Farm was such a lovely experience, Nancy and the rest of the Partridges do their best to make you feel like a part of their family, and you can tell that translates over to the horses and the rest of the animals. The trail ride begins behind their house and you're almost instantly immersed into lush serendipity as you wind through a corridor of trees. The scenery changes so drastically and climaxes with a view of Windham and Hunter Mountains that seem as if painted by hand. Our wrangler Sophie was so fun, personable, and professional, constantly interacting with us and giving tips and making us feel comfortable and at ease. She even readjusted the kids saddle at one point when she noticed they were off centered! What an amazing experience for us. We brought our young kids to the farm for a pony ride but we received so much more then that. Their granddaughter took our children under her wing and showed them the ropes. Catching chickens, chasing rabbits and how to care for the horses just to name a few. The owners spoke with us and told us about the history of the farm and showed us all the animals they had. The kids had a blast. We even returned a second time during our vacation so my wife could go on a trail ride. She said it was one of the best experiences she ever had. Not only was the guide kind and informative about the trail but gave my wife some basic tips for riding before they went out. I could not have asked for a better experience at Mountain Brook Farm. I called a few weeks prior to our visit to ask if they were willing to assist in coordinating my proposal to my girlfriend, now fiancée, and they could not have been more accommodating. Nancy and Sophie did everything in their power to help make sure my vision for the proposal become a reality. The views are incredible, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the horseback riding was a lot of fun. They even allowed us to picnic on the grounds privately to celebrate our engagement. Our family loves trail rides... and we've taken many over the years - in a lot of great places; Wyoming, California, Massachusetts, Colorado and even Iceland. But our recent experience at Mountain Brook Farm in Windham, NY ranks as one the BEST! Our guide, Sophie, was delightful, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. What an incredible treat. We were the last ride is the season. Nancy was incredibly nice. She reviewed and enforced her COVID cleaning and preparing of the horses. The horses were beautiful and gentle. We had the opportunity to ask questions about the horses and were given a great education on them. Good tips for a comfortable ride. Nancy was very sweet and able to accommodate our group size. We did the 1-hr ride and the views were just stunning. The horses were sweet and well cared for. She and her staff clearly love their animals and take care to make sure everyone is comfortable on their mount. John our other guide was very nice and very knowledgeable. They provide pictures of the riders along the way and sent them to us at the end allowing us to really enjoy the ride and not feel conflicted about capturing the fun. This is a great hack. I'm not I could review this place in a way that really gives it justice. From the moment you arrive you feel at home and feel the passion and love Nancy has not just for her beautiful animals but for her special piece of the world. My husband and I recently went on a horseback riding trail. This was my first experience on a horse, and Nancy and Angel were so patient and wonderful with me. I felt very comfortable on my horse, Chance, who was super sweet and calm. The trial ride was so scenic with the gorgeous mountains in the background. Our guide, Nancy, rode with us, was very friendly and a great photographer. I would highly recommend anyone interested in riding horses to visit this farm. Amazing experience! Nancy and the entire team were so amazing. We booked the 1 hour trail ride for 4 beginner riders. They matched us to just the right horse and were great with giving us instructions and encouraging us on the ride. Not to mention, the amazing photos they took of us on the ride so we could focus on riding. The trail was great - a little up and down hill and some flats and the scenery was spectacular! Such a great experience! My wife and I took our 3 children, it was our first riding lesson. The chickens were there to great us when we arrived, we had fun coming up with "why did the chicken cross the road" jokes! We really enjoyed our lesson and hope to do a trail ride next time. I brought a group for a bachelorette trip. We had a great time! Everyone was so kind. They told us all about the property while we were on our trail ride. The horses are clearly well cared for, healthy, and loved. They made sure everyone felt safe, secure, and understood how to ride beforehand. The scenery was so nice. They took pics for us!!! While their website did not have any available time slots when I tried to book, I e-mailed them and Nancy was very accommodating in finding a spot for us. This was my first outing after a big accident 15 years ago, and I couldn't have had a better experience. Sophie was a kind, considerate wrangler who gave me the confidence I needed to literally get back in the saddle. Our experience with 2K trail rides was excellent. Quinn took us on a 3 hour ride through the state park. He was a charming and informative guide, keeping us safe but also providing plenty of run time on our horses. Not the cheapest horseback riding on the mountain but definitely worth every penny. Our guide Sophie was energetic and happy to talk to us about the area. The ride was pleseant and relaxing. We had a great time horseback riding. It was so nice having only our party on the ride. Our group had a variety of riding level experiences, and they were very patient with the new riders. This place is absolutely lovely! The rooms are clean, the people are friendly, the service absolutely goes above and beyond! I had so much fun!
