The trees are low enough not to require ladders so they're kid friendly (and for those of us who are fun-sized). The orchard offered a beautiful view of the hills in the background covered in fall trees when I went in early October. There was also a little pumpkin patch that was perfect for pictures! Many people visit Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard but you don't get the same experience since you don't get to pick the apples right off the trees. However, we did visit Fly Creek (which is a fun experience too!) the next day and I thought that the apple cider doughnuts from here were much better - they were softer and denser! I also compared it to some doughnuts that my cousin bought from another orchard in PA and Middlefield's still comes up on top! I definitely recommend here for your traditional fall apple-picking/apple cider doughnut-eating/pumpkin-picking experience! There weren't much people when we went so there were many opportunities for uninterrupted photos as well!

One of them was teaching a 13-year-old girl how to run the register and then another gentleman who appeared to be in his mid to late 70s approach the counter as my items were being rung up I'm retired Air Force and had a US Air Force retired ball cap on my head. I asked the folks behind the counter kindly if they provided a military discount, the two gentlemen behind the counter, looked at the older gentleman who I am presuming is the owner of the Orchard and who was standing at the end of the counter by this point looked up in my hat, gave me a smirk and said I think your retirement should be paying for mine and then walked away. I didn't appreciate the comment. All he had to say was no we don't provide a discount and I would've been happy with that. It appears to me that this Apple, orchard owner is not veteran friendly and I will not return. My presumption is not based off of the lack of a discount is based off of his statement which I didn't appreciate be prepared for sticker shock for those few things I paid almost $100 for it.

We actually couldn't find our way out and there were lots of scary things to see. We went to the maze yesterday because we couldn't do the haunted maze and it was fun. It's a cute place with lots of kid activities. Prices are pretty good too. My kids are now grown so we went to pick pumpkins this time and for memory sake. Huge pumpkins for a great price. The line for beverages is about 75 people long, the line for food at their new brewhouse is over a hundred people long and if you want to get into the bakery and gift shop you also have to wait in line 100 people long. And no they don't move particularly fast. So as long as you don't want to eat, drink or buy any baked goods... The rest of it is not too bad! It took about two and a half hours to do everything . The Apple cannons are an additional charge which I did not see listed on the website but they are fun! The pillow area is very muddy and most of the kids get pretty dirty playing on it so just be prepared for that. We did try a few of the treats from the stands; apple cider slushie, grilled cheese and caramel apple cup. They were all reasonably priced and the lines were not too bad for them. The bathrooms are pretty secluded, there's some next to the Brew Barn at one end and there's some at the other end. They are all pretty basic level Porta-Johns they were pretty dirty after a few hours of people walking around dirt roads and mud. It's a pretty cool place and if they were half as many people then I'd be a lot more excited and likely to recommend it. Today is also the day where they limited the number of tickets sold so this is about the best case scenario in terms of the density of people here. I've been writing this review for about the last 20 minutes and the lines have made very little progress for the beverages or food at the new Brew Barn center. All in all I don't think we'll be back next year. You spend an hour and a half in the car to get here, you pay to get in and there's a few things that are covered by that. Some stuff for the kids to climb on, the jumping pillows, along with seeing the animals and the tractor ride. Besides those attractions everything else is basically a line to stand in and pay money for something. Some of those lines are not too bad and some of the things are affordable. The major lines for the gift shop /bakery, the brew center or the coffee shop and you're going to have to get the back of 100 person line.

Their main shop, featured in my photos, hosts lots of handmade gifts, Hollow-themed shirts, and lots of pumpkins and other gords for fall decor. Their prices are very good - as low as $1 for a single small pumpkin, .50c for a small gord. They have a variety of pumpkins as well, not just your common jack-o-lantern variety. Around the main shop, you may find a small food truck here or there, as well as a small food stand that serves ice cream, chili, and other snacks. They also have a birthday party center for children's birthdays and other events you'd like to host. As you move into the Hollow, you'll find other fall-themed activities including a small zoo with farm animals (cows, pigs, goats, chickens, etc.), hay bales and a corn pit for children to play on, a small cow-themed train ride for children, Apple fritter/Apple cider stand, hay rides, a giant corn maze, and for those really looking to get their hands dirty: a pick it yourself pumpkin patch! On some days, you may even get the chance to watch the pumpkin launcher blast off as they throw pumpkins across a field! (So, so much fun!) There's free parking at the front of the Hollow.
