Had kidney stones removed by Zadina, X-rays every 2 weeks after procedure, the office does not use epic, and expects patients to do there job for them. Getting X-ray results to the.office is a pain. I received day after X-rays to my medical app. This cost me $100 every time I got an X-ray x 8-10 times. Paid the bill from Zadina. 6 months after passing stones I have an appointment. I had a family emergency and was seriously strapped for money until payday. I asked to pay my copay on payday and they refused me service. I was dumbfounded at this and will not be returning to this office ever! I am going to check with my insurance to see if they were billed for this non appointment that they cancelled! Ridiculous this happened over a copay, I was in a either feed my family or pay the copay situation. What an ass! read more

Oh my goodness....had another bout of Kidney Stones. Used to see a different Urologist, but he is retiring and they couldn't see me for several months (go figure!!!) Receptionist was very nice and making an appoint was simple. I arrived for my appointment on time, and in lots of pain. Dr. Zadina shortly came into the room and went through the standard questions and asked other questions. He was very detailed. Diagnosed the type of Kidney Stones I had and gave me some prescriptions to take care of them and some of the side effects. Had two follow up appointments and I am now Kidney Stone free. I really like the fact that when you leave, the receptionist gives you a complete printout of your visit and any action items, so you don't have to try to remember what to do next or what was said. No problems recommending the doctor...he knows what he is doing! read more

I used Mt. Rainier urology a few years back for some general issues and a referral, they seemed fine then. I ended up going back because of some issues which turned out to be (as far as I can tell, Dr. Zadina is not great at communication around medical info and didn't even give me a verbal diagnosis at any point) chronic prostatitis. It's ended up being a six month thing, where I have had to switch antibiotics a few times after recurrence of symptoms. As far as I know, that part is normal. What is not normal is that they recommended every unnecessary test in the book, routinely botched up my prescriptions, would not respond to my requests to correct their mistakes (repeatedly sending things to wrong pharmacy), would not perform the appropriate tests to figure out what bacteria was causing my problem, and generally were uncommunicative, unhelpful, and uncaring. I am fairly sure the doctor actually had *forgotten my original diagnosis* once it came time for my cystoscopy. I believe he was under the impression I had a UTI, when in fact they had tested for UTI many times. So basically, I have this issue (chronic prostatitis) known to be hard to treat, that requires a little homework, and it just gets treated like a UTI...likely because neither the Doctor nor the staff are bothering to look at records and put two and two together. So after months of mistakes and borderline (maybe actual) patient neglect, they get all upset that I hadn't paid them immediately, and I get a curt and demanding call from his office manager. Oh, they also never sent the bill they were complaining about, by the way...but that is par for the course with their organizational issues. That was pretty much the last straw for me. Dr. Zadina is a nice enough of guy, but I would *not recommend going* here if you have anything beyond a routine issue of UTI, needing a prescription, or whatever. If you have a serious issue that requires real effort on the part of a professional then do yourself a favor and find a less apathetic urology clinic. I will also specifically warn anyone considering going here that it is very "old school", the doctor barely explains his treatment rationale or diagnoses, and just sort of expects you to go along. He also has bizarre to nonexistent bedside manner. If you've ever had a cystoscopy, you know it is not fun. During mine neither his assistant nor he said much of anything to me, it was really bizarre. I have had a lot of urological treatment in my life (yay, what luck) and never came across a group of people as uncommunicative (and seemingly unconcerned with patient welfare) as Mt. Rainier urology. So, caveat emptor. I normally don't like to leave negative yelp reviews because I know it can affect a business, and subjective reviews of a local business are not always a fair way to judge. However, the care I received here was bad enough that I want other people to be forewarned about it. Again I'd strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you have a very routine, easy to treat issue. read more

I just had one of the most humiliating experiences of my adult life courtesy of Mt Rainer Urology. Apparently I didn't receive (allegedly) three bills their office sent me last year and was sent to collections. I paid the bill as soon as I was aware of it. Fast forward to two days ago...my Doctor calls and schedules an urgent appointment with Dr Zadina for today. I'm actually running about 5 minutes late so I call in and let them know...the lady says "no problem". I arrive to be informed that there is no appointment scheduled for me. (Note, there are two other people in their very tiny waiting area who can hear everything being said). I'm informed that even though I paid what I owed, because I paid through a collector I won't be seen until I talk with their HR manager. I'm embarrassed and immensely PISSED right now. Unreal. We're not usually ones to leave bad reviews for any business, however we don't want anyone to have to go through what we did at Mount Rainier Urology. Dr. Simon P. Zadina left us completely disappointed after wasting much of our time and taking our money. During the consultation, he examined my husband without gloves but gave the go ahead that the procedure would be fine as he could easily find both vas deferans. The following week during the actual procedure, he stated (after an entire hour of prepping and pulling) that they must be too deep and would need to make a second incision just to find them and that the healing time would be extensive and the procedure very painful etc. -- Interesting! Thankfully my husband opted out of going through with Dr. Zadina. We looked online under google reviews and found a review that is identical to what happened to us in that they were told the day of procedure it couldn't be done. My husband is in shape and doesn't have any abnormalities that would make this procedure difficult or hard to do (let alone impossible)! Upon leaving, we were informed that our consultation fee was not being refunded. It sounds like this occurs often based on the other review. We received what was supposed to be my husband's records from Mount Rainier to give to our new Urologist (who performed the vasectomy without complication or issue) which was a complete joke: According to them, he had a completed vasectomy with them and a full page of medical records stating the step by step procedure of it. My experience with Dr Zad7nas office was horrible. I was refererred to his office by my family doctor as a replacement for mycretired urologist. I contacted them with my problem with BPH and pain..was told 3-4 months for initial appointment was best they could do. In the meantime I had emergency surgery with a removal of part of my colon and an abcess and fistula on my bladder top was repaired. After a week in the hospital was released after the removal of a catheter and went home..2 days later found my bladder was not fully working and ended up in emergency room. Was told to contact "my urologist" to discuss the removal of the catheter ASAP. I contacted Zadinas office on morning of Wednesday, March 4th leaving a message to please cobtact me regarding inspecting a cather placed in emergency for leakage and bleeding. Finaaly received a call back afternoon of March 6th. I mentioned that it took almost 3 days to call back on emergency request and the receptionist got snippy and mentioned I still had an appointment in mid March and that earlist Dr Zadina would see me anyway would be after 10 days with a catheter..I mentioned that it was leaking and bloody and was informed that they did not fix others mistakes. I mentioned that this also very painfull and could use a closer appointment than a couple of weeks and was informed by the young lady that Dr Zadina has "thousands" of paitients and that if I did not like their ways that I was welcome to deal with another doctor. And this is what passes for a practice today? read more

I found relief the next day after leaving the clinic. Everyone is very friendly. Dr. Zadina is kind of distant and a man of few words but wasted no time ordering the right tests to get my situation figured out. I'm so glad I gave this clinic a chance and would recommend it to others. There's never anything wrong with getting a second opinion if you don't like what you're hearing.
