It's a great little park with water access for launching boats, kayaks, or just viewing the water. There is also an enclosed skateboard area. The Truxtun Park boat ramp is open year round from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m. Two, concrete ramps are available. There is a $5 fee per launch payable via Visa/MasterCard or annual pass only. No cash is accepted at the park. Fees apply all days of the year to any vessel launched from the ramps. Truxtun Park has three picnic pavilions available for rent year round. Groups of 10 or more must obtain a permit in advance. The maximum size group the pavilions will accommodate is 50 people. * Park hours are sunrise to sunset. * Pets that are leashed are welcome in the parks, but please clean up after your pet * Alcohol is not permitted on park property * Do not litter in the parks -- help keep our parks clean for everyone's enjoyment.

Went for open swim today (Dec 14, 2009) and had a load of fun with a local mom group. You walk in…read moreto a very clean and welcoming lobby where the receptionist is very friendly. We paid for open swim (from 11-3pm $5 adults $3 child) and head for the locker rooms. Locker rooms were a bit small but did the job. They only had the half size lockers so don't bring anything long (coats, dress). Showers were clean and had soap available. The pool was wonderful. They dedicate two lanes for "open" swim and the rest of the pool is for lap (about 4 lanes I think). At 11 it was not too busy at all and we were able to have our mommy group space enough. We were not bothered and the life guard was right there the whole time. The rest of the facility looked great too. Might have to check out their gym or therapy pool/lessons another time. They do lessons as well.

Most places like this either have ridiculous membership fees or you have to live in the neighborhood. The staff has been both friendly and helpful when I've needed them, and i'm looking forward to purchasing a 1 year pass for my family sooner than later. On a slow day it's given us an escape from sitting around the house, or just going out to eat. My kids love the rock climbing here, and when the pools open in the summer it just adds even more ways to stay active. If anyone knows something similar in the area, shoot me a message, because i'd love to check it out.

The parking lot looks packed all the time, but the inside is so huge i never have to wait for a treadmill, and if the cardio room is full, then there is also an indoor track I can use as a backup. The weight room is not overly huge, but it has enough choices to where its not lacking. The staff are friendly and helpful. I havent even checked out any of the classes, rock wall climb or the basketball and pickleball courts, but this place has everything you can think of for working out at a price that does not disappoint. You can sign up for 30 days, 60 or 90 days, or they also have a one year membership if you desire. I am usually NOT a gym person because my past experiences with other gyms, were not so good and way overpriced. No one tries to push you into getting a year membership if you arent ready. The staff are able to answer any of your questions. they also have child care that is free (for up to 2 hours)
