Maybe I was too preoccupied with the big box thrifts in the area; Community Aid, Salvation Army, and Goodwill to go out and explore those less known. Do yourself a favor - don't make my mistake! This little thrift store is full of treasures waiting to be discovered and supports a number of ministry projects. Easy to find off Route 72 and open till 8 pm most days this location in a residential neighborhood has its own lot. Inside you'll find displays that will rival any retail store window. The organization is thoughtfully arranged by color/size/garment and it's easy to find exactly what you're looking for. If you're a brand whore you won't be disappointed. I saw many Chico, Dress Barn, and even Michael Koors pieces, all in top notch condition. Several items still had tags attached. While their inventory isn't as plentiful as the big box thrift, it's ample. Quality and current trends were on point. Just like their Palmyra sister store the jewelry display is artfully arranged. Prices were fair. On average shirts ran from $3.99-$5.99, jeans and pants a bit higher. I scored a great pair of like new shoes for $3, Halloween items were just .25 cents apiece - regardless if it was a pair of funky glasses or a full blown costume. While there were only a few, it's worth checking out. Aside from ladies clothing which dominates the store you'll find a men's section, children's clothing, toys, housewares, a very small furniture dept. (with signs saying that area will be transformed into a Christmas area in the next few weeks), housewares, wicker, bric brack, books, + a small card & craft section. While I browsed soft music played overhead and the cashier was very eager to assist in any way she could to enhance your shopping experience. The two dressing rooms were clean, spacious, and had plenty of hooks. A 50% off coupon can be found in some of the weekly rural newspaper editions and they also offer different specials/sales events from time to time. They even accept returns on clothing only up to 14 days. Electronics are checked but you're encouraged to plug in and verify for yourself since they can't be returned. Donations are easy to unload at the dock and I overheard they welcome your donation of unwanted boxes and plastic bags. Now that I know they exist I'll be checking them out more often!

For those of you that thrift often, you're probably like me and wondering when, if ever, the Etown…read moreGoodwill location will open back up. It's supposed to be closed for "repairs" but it's been at least a year. Recently while calling to inquire about their reopening I was told that a new, temporary location has opened in Mt Joy to make up for and accept the donations that would otherwise go to Etown. Since opening 3 weeks ago I've been here twice. I hope this store ends up becoming permanent as it's closer to my house and has a better layout and parking. While it is a smaller Goodwill store as far as square footage it does have all the normal departments just on a smaller scale. Housewares are still arranged by color, with clear glass being dominant. Clothes are sorted by size and item (size organization is much better here than other locations too!). Prices are in line with other Lancaster Co Goodwill locations. Shoes are piled on top of clothing racks due to space limitations and there isn't a place to sit and try them on. I did find a small end table for sale under the linens that I pulled out as a seat, so hopefully it'll stay there for a while. There is no dressing rooms. Aside from that small end table they don't carry furniture. Pictures and frames are tucked under the racks and housed in large plastic bins, as are children's shoes. Over all the store has much less selection than other locations but the sorting is pretty solid. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at clothes knowing I couldn't try them on but didn't see any with flaws. They have yarn in baskets at the one end cap, as well as cards. They do tend to throw things in baskets that either sit on a shelf, floor, or end cap so do look thru those. They still have Christmas decorations for sale, in fact an entire isle of them. I didn't see any signs saying they were discounted, and currently the only loyalty promotion is the military discount. The children's department is very small, as is linens. The majority of the store consists of men's and ladies fashion. They do cute décor displays on the end caps facing the window, but the ones by the wall are pretty much a mess. No hand sanitizer is offered, nor is cart wipes, but overall the store is cleaner than most, employees are masked and a Plexiglas shield is present. Every employee I've encountered has always been friendly and helpful. A win for me because it's so close, I do hope this location stays. SIDENOTE: Isaac's is next door, located in a safe and active strip mall right on the main street rt 230

I get to the register and the blouse did not have a tag. The cashier said they couldn't sell it to me because it was untagged. I asked for her manager and she rolled her eyes and said...she's just going to tell you the same thing I told you. I don't know the woman's name but she came up and did in fact say the same thing...grabbed the blouse and went to the back....I offered her $10 for the blouse because I really wanted it. I got a resounding NO. Fast forward to the next day. I went back to the store, saw the blouse on the rack for $5.99. It had a tag on it this time and I snatched it up. They only got $5.99 when they could have received $10. Why did I have to endure that grief??

Recently I took a vacation day and was camping in the area and decided to check them out. Much to my surprise they have a private parking lot in the back. From the back entry there was a porch that had some free items that didn't meet their resale requirements. Inside was a vestibule with $1 clothing that had minor blemishes on. On the tags that I took the time to look at it was written what was wrong which I thought was nice. The deal of the day was ladies tops which were half off. Inside the shop I was greeted by two older ladies sitting at chairs chatting. The overall store is about the size of an efficiency apartment and is a very narrow space. The organization was done well and knick knacks were proudly displayed. There were probably about 8 customers in the tiny space, plus myself and the two clerks which felt like a crowd in such a narrow space. It was impossible to social distance. Ladies clothing and knick knacks dominated the store Children's clothing, toys, and housewares were very limited. While browsing the racks I did find several tops, all half off, as well as some jeans for $3. Prices were very reasonable. The dressing room is part of the bathroom, which seemed to also be a kitchen as it had a microwave in it, and also a toothbrush at the sink. Overall with the ladies sitting and talking at the entrance, to the personal items in the bathroom it felt like I was in someone's house. At that point I didn't know if this was a charity room thrift store, or just someone selling used, donated items for profit. However at the register they did have a sign showing how much money the store has donated to various charities over the years and it was impressive. When I told the cashier I can't believe there wasn't any Yelp reviews they had no idea what Yelp was! Probably not a regular stop for me during COVID due to the distancing aspect but worth checking out if you're not concerned.

Comments Today, April 7, 2017, I am adding to my review to…read morekeep you posted on all that is happening in this truly fine boutique!t I travel from Reading, Pa. , usually with a car load of friends to shop here. I have been shopping here for years, and for those who may not have been here recently, I must tell you the quality of the items has only improved. It has always been a nice shop , but I feel it is now in the running for best consignment shop in Eastern Pa. They have either attracted a better quality of name brand items, or are being more choosy about what they take in! Let me tell you why I drive an hour to come to this store: It is the largest most fashionable consignment store I know of, with exceptional, affordable clothing and accessories! Large means room for more merchandise, pleasingly arranged from the smallest through largest articles of color according to size. The have outerwear, sleepwear, and petites separated. I can not walk in the store without heading directly to the designer handbags, and the great brands of shoe collections. Many of their items still have the store tags hanging on them. One of the most amazing displays is their beautiful, trendy brand new jewelry. Some consignment jewelry is sold, but most is sparkling new costume jewelry! They carry specific collections of fashion jewelry. A new brand displayed attractively is the "Ginger Snap" jewelry, in which you can interchange the center decorative part of the jewelry by simply snapping it in and out of place! Another beautiful versatile display of jewelry are the lockets with varying designs of see through shapes, which you purchase colorful tiny charms of interest for yourself, or anyone you would like to give a unique gift to! Any other store of this size would be difficult to get around, but all is sorted according to type of clothing: skirts, jeans, dresses, etc. Quality purses are so numerous now, that they can be found on display racks throughout the store. The people who shop there are dressed nicely . You can see that they wouldn' t have to shop there; they only do so because they know its the wise thing to do. Which brings us to cost. The prices are extremely reasonable. The only place you could find cheaper clothing, would be in a goodwill for ex. I am a retired teacher who likes stretching her dollar, and I only Shop in what I call consignment boutiques. When I was younger, I tried goodwill, and other thrift shops. I have been spoiled by theses shops now, kiddingly saying I do have standards. My friends brag about items they find at a Goodwill, which is sometimes true, but their shopping experience is not the same. I feel like a trendy upscale shopper in the stores I am browsing through,It's not at all the same as looking through torn damaged clothing, stored in a smelly wearhouse type building! The staff is professional, courteous, and does donate portions of sales to pet rescues. You can even purchase a new toy for your pet! Not only do they have large inviting dressing rooms, shopping carts, a bathroom for their customers, but also they include areas of seating for a quick rest. Notice all the gorgeous formal gowns displayed like flowers throughout the store for some lucky prom shopper. Today my friend of 60+, and I found quite a few spring fashions while her 30 year old daughter, who lives and works in New York City , as a professional at one of the national TV stations, was shopping along side of us , picking out favorites to wear to work at her job in the big Apple! Any day that you stop in, you will find sale items. Individual items are priced on sale, or sometimes there are store wide sales! YOU WILL LOVE, "NOW WEAR THIS!"
