It's not fine dining but it is more than fine for me. I thought my food was great. My friend ordered a 14 euro version of the lunch special and hers was like a meal fit for a king. The price differential was clear in the variety differential and it all looked so amazing I almost went rogue and ate meat for once (she got the chicken tikka masala, I believe). I notice that doesn't always go over well here. Too bad. On that note, Satkar is by far and away the closest thing to the REAL Indian food I grew up with in San Francisco, the land of cheap, delicious, authentic ethnic foods. Satkar is like the best of both worlds: outstanding and authentic Indian food at dirt cheap prices at lunch time (€8.50 for lunch deal - main, side, raita, rice, salad bar, and potato salad or special salad of the day), fantastic service, and a really lovely and comfortable interior. The Aloo Ghobi and Chicken Tikka Masala exceeded all expectations and the service is quite honestly among the best I've enjoyed in Helsinki in 2 years. Smiles, conversation, a genuine interest in whether or not we enjoy our meal...where am I!?!?!? Since moving here, I've been unhappy with the lack of really good Indian cuisine but Satkar has changed all of that. Satkar is now in my Top 5 favorite places to eat in Helsinki. Outstanding! Bravo! The service was also quite ok and they were very kind to accommodate me a few mins before kitchen closing. I may come back here again. It's reasonable food for a reasonable price.
