It was such a great stop. We love the off the beaten path kind of places and this is certainly one of them! We got there late in the afternoon and all the shops on Main street were closed, so we were just window shopping, taking pictures of the quaint Mayberry named stores, when we happened to pass by Mayberry country, just as they were locking up for the day. The owners, Barbara and Don, greeted us just like we were in Mayberry RFD. They insisted they open the store back up for us.....They were tired from a long day, but said they wanted us to be able to take home some souvenirs from their town, so they unlocked the door, turned the lights back on and helped us! AND...they told us all about their little town..where to find the best attractions and they even gave us a map to find them. Their little shop is great and we certainly did find some great things to take home....but the most important thing we found was Barbara and Don. They have to be the nicest shop owners anywhere!! Don said that the most important things to him are the tourists that stop in their town. How rare is that??? If you stop in Airy, be sure to visit them! Flowers arrived with nothing but a tie, not very presentable. My sister was being nice and tried to take a good photo of the flowers to not hurt my feelings but even in the photo you can see the roses are not fresh and are dying. Look at the stems of the flowers too! They're dry and probably won't last for 24-48 hours. Probably better off buying flowers from Trader Joe's Update: They called me back and offered a discount for my next purchase instead of offering to replace the drying flowers. After my experience, why would I buy from here again?? They also admitted that they didn't wrap it in the brown paper because they believe a plain white tie is more festive. I wish they would have contacted me and asked if it was okay for them to change my order. Even flowers at grocery stores come with a plastic wrapping to make it more presentable! I also feel bad for the door dash driver who had to deliver these flowers without a cover. Hope their car didn't get ruined.
