The staff was extremely friendly and you could tell that they love aviation history and what they do. There is a replica of a Wright B flyer and other airplanes and even cars from the era on display. You need to ask staff to take you to the back area because it is an active work space, but it is worth it to see everything up close. They did say that on certain Saturdays, the volunteers actually take the flyer up for flights! While you can't experience an actual flight, they do have a VR simulation of take off, brief flight and landing. It is $5, but my daughter said it was well worth the cost (especially considering the fact that the museum itself is free)

We stopped by the week before Thanksgiving and were treated to a personal tour by the director (I think that's who she was), who was in the middle of decorating for Christmas. The West Carrollton branch of the DML library system shares a building with the Civic Center,…read morealthough you aren't really able to tell from the inside. It boasts just over 16,000 square feet and was renovated in 2018. Reservable spaces include two 4-person quads, a 10-person conference room and a community room for up to 50 people. The conference room at this location is one of the larger conference rooms I've seen thus far at any DML branch, with reclining office chairs to boot. However, neither the quads or conference room have windows facing the outside. There is a quiet room with a two 4-person tables and a couple reading chairs that does have windows to allow light in from the outside. There is also a teen corner with a few booths, but other than that there are limited tables throughout the main part of the library, mainly just reading chairs. Like all DML branches, this branch is clean and well-maintained.

I drove there on a day they were going to be open .. went around 1pm .. figured no way they wouldn't be open. Well do the the carona virus they were only open for 3 hours .. 3-6. I called and said didn't know .. only have 1 item and i'm here now. Nooooo way could they be bothered. instead they put people items in the lobby where anyone could take them. i was the only one there .. and the staff were in there ... I was speechless at their attitude. Another time i put a movie on hold .. was waited and waited and waited A YEAR .. apparently not all the branches share the items bought with tax dollars. i challenge you to put a movie on hold at any of the Dayton branches and do the same at any other area libraries ... you will die of old age waiting on Dayton. The only reason i use it is there is a rare time when the other libraries dont have something. but not a fan. Especially when they are funded by donations and taxes .. you'd think they would be more concerned with providing better service to keep the donations and voters willing to fund them.
