Whatever you do, do not seek treatment at this office. My experience raised serious concerns regarding professionalism, communication, and patient care standards. I initially scheduled a consultation and was very clear about my longstanding dental anxiety, which has existed since I was 14 years old. During the consultation, staff reassured me that they could accommodate this concern and informed me they use a medication called Halcion (triazolam) to help reduce anxiety and make patients more comfortable during procedures. Based on those assurances, I agreed to move forward with treatment. I was then told I needed two teeth extracted by an oral surgeon before they could proceed with a deep periodontal cleaning. I completed that process, including paying approximately $400 for anesthesia at the oral surgeon's office in Jacksonville. After the extractions, I was instructed to return to their office to pick up the prescription needed for my upcoming deep cleaning appointment on the 29th. When I arrived, I waited in the office for approximately 40 minutes while staff appeared unsure of what was happening. I had been told it would be a quick visit, so my daughter remained waiting in the car. After an extended delay, I was finally told that the dentist did not feel comfortable prescribing Halcion because of medications I currently take--medications I have been on for approximately 15 years and had already disclosed during the initial consultation. Instead, I was told to contact my primary care physician and ask him to prescribe the medication for their dental procedure. In my opinion, this was inappropriate and should have been addressed before I underwent extractions, paid additional expenses, and rearranged my schedule multiple times. If there were prescribing concerns, those should have been discussed transparently from the beginning so I could have explored other treatment options. As a result, I am now delayed in receiving a medically necessary deep cleaning, while my dental condition continues to worsen. I have since contacted several other dental offices, and multiple providers advised they had never encountered this type of situation. I intend to file formal complaints with the appropriate dental licensing board and regulatory agencies. Patients deserve clear communication, ethical decision-making, and competent treatment planning. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office to anyone seeking professional dental care. read more

I used to love coming here and even would travel for my appointments when I moved out of town, but not anymore. The ladies are super sweet which is why this gets one star. Previous dentist left the practice and another joined. No previous pain or sensitivity. New doc found a few cavities and I went ahead and got them filled. Ever since the fillings I've been in pain. Cannot chew on my left side or water pik the right side (near the fillings). Called the office up to have her double check everything (including xrays) and was in a bit of pain post procedure. Gave it a few days, still in pain. Another two people I know that also go here have had similar experiences. Still in pain. I'm switching dentists. Good luck if you choose Moultrie Dental. read more

They try to make you pay for services you don't need just to charge you extra. I always request a regular cleaning, but they insist on doing a deep one just so they can charge me $165, even though I have excellent insurance that covers two FREE cleanings a year. I will never go back to Moultrie Dental. Here is why. I had a right-side bottom back molar old crown removed. Then Dentist reamed out the molar and his Dental Assistant helped him put in a temporary crown. The problem after the tooth numbing injection wore off was the temporary crown was twice as wide as it should have been. That resulted in my right inside cheek being between the upper molar and the temporary whenever I tried to eat. I found if I crewed extremely small bites on the left side. However, I would my right cheek at least once every meal. I suffered for two weeks this way being afraid to eat until the permanent crown could be installed. I told the Dental Assistant my experience and she said "You should have asked to fix this problem and come back in." I said "I didn't want to do that which would mean another visit". My reason was I didn't want to give the Dentist and his Assistance another chance at their incompetency Installing a second temporary crown and waited for the permanent crown to be installed. read more

Dr Jarrell had a nasty attitude towards me because I was scheduled incorrectly (no fault of mine) for an extraction, when I didn't schedule an appointment for an extraction! Total sh&$& show! Gone! When I visited in person, I was also pressured into getting a cleaning I didn't ask for -- even after clearly requesting a regular cleaning. Horrible front desk, awful Dentist: I was originally referred to the newer Dentist at this office by a family friend who is his wife. When I called to try to scheudle with him they told me he was booked out for several months. I said fine and they scheudeld my appointment. The week of they called me and told me I could have to reschedule to see a different dentist because the one I schdudle with originally was on vacation...red flag# 1. If he was going to be on vacation why was I able to scheudle with him in the first place or wouldn't you have known to call and reschedule me more than a week in advance? And why can't I reschedule a different time to get in with him? Why do I have to see a different dentist all together? The day of my rescheduled appointment even though I had filled information out online. They gave me a mountain of redundant paperwork to complete before they would take me back. I spent something like 20min filling out most of it. Never been given so much paperwork for a dentist before. Eventually they stopped me and said okay just come back.. the dental hygienist took photos of my teeth and jaw and confirmed my complaints that since my retainer broke my teeth and my bite are off and it's hurting my jaw. She said the dentist would talk me through solutions but that invisilign might be my best option. I continue to recieve one of the most uncomfortable/painful cleanings. Then the dentist comes in (obvious egomaniac) and proceeds to talk FOREVER about how he "knows the guy who wrote the book on orthodontics" and yea I could get invisilign or braces again after 15 years but there is no garuntee it will fix my teeth so not worth it, and I don't need retainers or some fancy custom night gaurd just go buy a cheep $20 self molding one from the drug store and that should do the trick. That appointment was almost 2.5 hours long and I had to keep texting my boss to let him know I was running late coming back to work.. RED FLAG #2! ( btw I got the night gaurd he recommended and it didn't mold or fit right and was completely unusable and did not help with anything) Then 6 months later I've been so busy I haven't taken the time to find a different dentist but I had an appointment scheudeld with this office to see the original dentist I had requested to see so thought maybe this experience will be different.. what happens? They call me a couple days before my appointment that I have had scheudeld for 6 months to say "the dentist won't be available at that time we need to change your appointment time". Now I have a different job but I work 7 days a week and if I have to reschedule a personal appointment I have to reschedule my own clients or miss a working opportunity and I don't get paid if I don't work it's not salaried so this inconsistency from their office is a problem for someone with a job like mine. I called them and they said actual the othe times they offered me that day are not available and I need to reschedule for the following week. Me being flexible just said okay fine we will reschedule for next week. They said thank you and we hung up. Then the next week I get a call and missed it they text me saying because I didn't confirm yhe appointment I need to reschedule again! I let them know thay I just spoke with theor office less than a week ago. Why is that not confirmation enough that I will be there and to keep my appointment? They said they needed insurance information form me and I never called and gave them that. But when I spoke with their office that Friday no one asked me for any insurance information so I feel like that's BS. needless to say this policy of canceling or rescheduleing someone's apooappointment just because they don't respond and constantly moving people's appointments around is SIGNIFICANTLY inconsiderate and lacks compassion for people's busy lives. I have worked in customer service and reception jobs on and off for 13 years and know that just because someone doesn't confirm an appointment doesn't mean they don't have every intention of showing up to said appointment, they may just be very busy and don't get the opportunity to respond to a voicemail. And I never did get to meet the dentist I originally wanted to see, and never got help with the issues I'm having with my teeth and jaw. I had the worst experience at this dental office. I made two appointments, and the first one was canceled because they didn't have a doctor available. I rescheduled for four months later, and I received a text confirming my appointment. The next day, I received three calls within four hours, and when I didn't answer, they canceled my appointment for not answering. Not only did they not give a typical 24 hour notice but they didn't even send another text. I've now taken off work for nothing and still haven't been able to get any dental care. This has been a complete waste of my time. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. Maybe they are great if you can keep an appointment, but I question what else they mess up being this disorganized. read more

I just came in for my first appointment, it didn't start out too well. The dentist decided to work on the tooth that was the least of my concern. My left front tooth had a small sliver cracked down the right side. He filed it down and put a new filling on it, or whatever you call it on your front tooth. Once finished he didn't show me what it looked like. I mentioned it felt a lot shorter than the other front tooth, so he decided to file that one down too. I now have two crooked short front teeth. What can be done about this? I really don't want to come in and have to pay for his mistakes. Attached is two pictures. Sorry for this late review. I was crossing the country from Miami to Phoenix 3 days before Christmas 2021 & had a terrible toothache while in St Augustine. In the middle of the night I found Moultrie Dental Care under "emergency dentist" online. I called & was surprised that I was able to make an appointment at their 9am opening. They were going to close for Christmas that day. I had a very pleasant experience with Dr M Jarrell & his assistant. Unfortunately, I had a root canal problem that he could not fix at that time but was able to grind the molar down slightly to relieve the pressure & give me a prescription for an antibiotic. I was concerned about the price since this was an emegency call but a very resonable fee for the X-ray & service. If I lived in this area I would make Dr Jarrell my regular dentist. read more

I have dealt with many Dental offices over my lifetime and Dr. Mike Jarrell and his staff are at the top of the list. The office is modern, the staff is well trained and highly professional from the front desk to the hygienists and the assistants. I switched to this practice a number of months ago and have been 100% satisfied with every interaction. My last visit was an emergency that required a root canal, and despite no appointment and a full schedule for the staff that day, they worked me in and provided world class care and had me back in good shape in no time. If you are looking for a dental practice that puts the patient first with old school friendliness and compassion, then this is the place you should go. We just moved to the area a couple months ago so my husband and I were looking for a new dentist. We received a flyer in the mail, so I gave them a shot. The office is beautiful and new! They are up to date on technology as well. I have very sensitive teeth and for the first time in awhile I didn't have any pain during my cleaning. Called to try to schedule something, for a flyer for this "special" for new patients. My insurance is ending in 5 days. Of COURSE they can't get me in before it ends. Then the lady says, "our next appointment is and I asked, yes when is your next available appt?..........then total silence. I can hear background noise, but she's silent. For about 30 seconds or more. Then absolute TOTAL silence. I was hung up on. I said hello a few times. The call seemed to be still connected, but there was no one there. I would first like to address the review from Danielle I, who gave the dentist a one star rating. She stated that she received a flyer in the mail for $59 and insisted that she receive treatment before her insurance expired. Give me a break! She deserves a one star rating as a patient. We also received a first time flyer in the mail about six month ago. My wife immediately took advantage of it. She left singing praises about the staff and her treatment. She encouraged me to take advantage of the offer. Today we both went for my wife's six month followup appointment, and my first appointment . Wow! I was amazed at the new technology they have. Shelly brushed my teeth before taking the normal X rays. This was followed by a panoramic X ray of my mouth and lower jaw. She concluded the by taking color pictures of my mouth and gums. Trish the hygienist began by probing my gums around the teeth for possible gum disease. After completion of these procedures Dr Krepley discussed possible treatments. Since I am an octogenarian who has lost several teeth but not my marbles, I declined any further implants etc. I was in treatment for over 90 minutes. I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism competence performance and humor of the staff. I almost look forward to my next visit next year. Just spoke to Mindy at Moultrie regarding an insurance issue. Though it appears that she has a lot of knowledge, she would not pause in her explanation regarding my insurance denial to allow me to speak. Her rapid stacato was tiresome and I can only hope that the issue was resolved. They are charging 190.00 for cleaning and flouride...is this high? Prior experiences have been good. Love my dental hygenist. Unfortunately will probably look for another provider after this experience. read more

A poorly managed practice. I had a 2 pm appointment on Friday, showed up ahead of time, had received a confirming text the previous day. The doors were shut and the lights were off. Received an text Saturday that I was "overdue." Called Monday, barely apologized, said I wasn't on the schedule, the doctor had personal leave. Very unpleasant experience at a very unorthodox dental practice. I don't have dental insurance and I am a self pay. At the end of my visit, the technician advised that she would be applying fluoride to my teeth. I didn't realize until I reached the check out counter that the fluoride cost $27. Had I known that, I would have declined. Not only that, but the fluoride left my teeth very sensitive with a weird feeling for quite a long time. The doctor came in and had no bedside manner whatsoever and could not be more disinterested in my teeth. In and out in 5 seconds flat. Then the technician scheduled me for another cleaning in 4 months. I floss every night and my teeth are very clean and there was no need for another cleaning in 4 months. Who needs a cleaning every 4 months? Not me. Cha-ching. When I called to cancel the 4-month follow up cleaning, they went ahead and rescheduled me without my approval. I will never return. read more

I scheduled an appointment from these folks.... Other than wanting my to choose having all my teeth out to be replaced with dentures to the tune of many $$$$$. I responded with very negative reviews,the first from and 'outside survey company' asking about my visit. I was naively expecting a followup. Prompted no response. About a week 10 days later I received a request to make another appointment. Again in the space provided I responded maybe they should forward my first review to the CEO. Again no response. I suspect my first review landed in the circular file. Today I just received another automated request to make an appointment prompting me to write this review. Another example of ???.
