Maybe it's because I work at a computer 50+ hours a week, or because I'm almost 40. Maybe all of the above. All I know is in early November I woke up with horrible pinched nerve pain in my shoulder blade area. Working with my doctor and chiro helped to an extent but after a month I was still in pain 24/7 despite the meds, adjusting my work station, following all the advice, etc. X-rays showed that I had lost the curvature of my cervical spine which was causing the issue so my primary doctor prescribed PT, specifically with Kyle at Spine & Sport. My doctor, who specializes in sports medicine, goes to him myself so I thought- well, he must be good! At this point I was tired and exasperated, and desperately missed doing the things I loved doing like playing pool, doing more demanding vinyasa flows in yoga class, and sleeping without waking up in pain. I was starting to wonder if I'd ever be back to normal. I walked into Spine & Sport in mid-December having no idea what to expect but I left feeling more hopeful than I had in 1.5 months. Kyle was super-positive and didn't seem phased at all that up until that point, nothing was working. He did the soft tissue/massage which was amazing- I immediately felt at least some relief from the pain (and who doesn't like a good massage anyway?!) We also went through a bunch of exercises to do there as well as at home, and the session ended with the traction device. After two days, I felt way better than I had in the previous month and a half. There was hope! I also found myself kinda enjoying PT. I can be very socially anxious but Kyle was always super-nice, down-to-earth and funny, so it was easy to get comfortable with him fairly quickly. When you're in a room by yourself with a heating pad or on traction or whatever, they try to make it a relaxing environment and eventually I learned to take advantage of that by focusing on my breathing and not spending the time obsessing about work. At that point, I was leaving PT feeling better not only physically but mentally too. It's been about 6 weeks and I'm hardly ever experiencing pain and when I do, I can usually pinpoint why. Now Kyle is teaching me more exercises I can do at home to help build up strength, taking into consideration very specific concerns of mine (like my worry about doing certain shoulder-heavy yoga sequences). When I asked about resistance band exercises because I just bought a set, he suggested I bring them in so he could show me a bunch of options. It's obvious that Kyle genuinely cares about helping people to not only recover from an injury but also learn ways to live a fuller, healthier life in whatever ways are relevant to that individual and their personal goals. If there is one reason I would recommend Spine & Sport, it's that. I'm sure lots of places can help someone recover from an injury but not all places are staffed with a whole group of people who genuinely want to help others and who go above and beyond to do so. I've worked almost exclusively with Kyle but I had great experiences with Paul and Rick as well. Carly and Enole are fantastic too- they make it so easy to schedule appointments and are always friendly. From the moment I walk in to the moment I walk out, it's always a positive experience here!

Very rare in today's physical therapy market! At Spine and Sport I find myself doing extra work, and prolonging my time there. It's a good hang! I started PT in May, hoping to ease the pain in my old, arthritic shoulder, and to postpone a replacement. The shoulder is much better, and I have gained a lot of strength and flexibility. Twice during the course of shoulder therapy I have presented with a new problem. Both times, they got me warmed up, examined me to determine the problem, and then attacked the problem. Both times, I experienced immediate improvement, which was very important to me because I had an impending vacation with a lot of sports activity. In addition to the work on site, they will teach you exercises that can be performed at home.

I first began seeing Mr. Beltran in October, 2022 following my knee surgery, and have had multiple visits for various issues and ailments. What I especially appreciate is that he takes the time to listen to my input and concerns so that he can develop an appropriate treatment plan. He explains everything clearly along the way, making sure I understand what he is doing and why. Rather than simply treating the symptoms, he works to identify and address the source of the pain, with the goal of achieving the best possible outcome. His assistants are also well trained, professional, and helpful. The front desk staff is equally wonderful-always caring, welcoming, and pleasant. I highly recommend Mr. Brian to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, attentive, and compassionate physical therapist. I truly appreciate all the care he has provided me over the years.

Madeleine at the front desk has been consistently helpful getting me in after a cancellation and even checking with my insurance so there were no surprises in pricing. She was delightful and it was great to finally meet her in person. I was seen immediately after check in and Dr. Kevin provided an assessment. He allowed me to share the full scope of what was going on, administered stretches and movements, answering all my questions and shared his diagnosis of the problem. Thankfully, surgery would not be required. After addressing the problem, he helped me understand the mechanisms that led to it and turned toward focusing on the solution. After taking me to the therapy room him and his team began working on me, compressing and decompressing the affected area, and taking me through many of the movements I will need to do in between our next visit. One of the things that stood out was the love and teamwork in the room, not only from the staff but all the patients. It was obvious that the Kinetik Team put people, not paycheck first.
