My stylist was Tommaso, who is very friendly and kind. On my first visit, the haircut was shorter than I'd like, but the shape was good. On my second visit, I asked for the same cut as before but a bit longer, even showing pictures for reference. Unfortunately, it ended up much much shorter than my first cut. I'll take some responsibility as I had my eyes closed and wasn't paying close attention, but I hope this can serve as a reminder to double-check client requests during the process. read more

He specializes in razor cuts and always makes me feel beautiful. Not only is he talented; he's also an amazing person who makes you feel special and loved in his chair. For color I see Lauren Crowl. Lauren is beyond talented, humble and honest. She will make sure your color is what is best for you based on your current color etc. Lauren is also lovely and easy to talk to while in her chair. I've been getting my haircut with John Arsenault for years, and was thrilled when he told me he was opening up a lifestyle store in Manhattan! The shop is such an amazing addition to an already the neighborhood. It's packed with an eclectic mix of items from around the world - from clothing, to housewares, to jewelry, to linens to amazing artwork, there's definitely a little something for everyone in this shop. To top it off, there are two barber chairs in the back, and John gives one of the best barber cuts in Manhattan. Go check this place out - it's one of the most comfortable shops I've been in to just browse, hang out, chat with the two owners, and pick some things up for my wardrobe or home AND get an amazing haircut! I stumbled in on their very first day. Which was fun! Two delightful guys who are surely going to do very very well, and make customers happy. As said by Jake B it's a 2 chair barbershop in back (wondering if he does women's hair too?) with lifestyle goodies and art up front. I especially liked a photo he took of white curtains fluttering in a breeze with a white bunny in front of them. Of course I love white bunnies! But what I liked best where the clothes that are designed by his partner. I loved the soft drapey, but not too drapey, fabrics. Maybe a better way to describe the material is that it's soft and moves with you. I hate stiff fabric. He pointed out that the clothes are meant to be uni-sex or gender neutral and I'd say he's nailed it. Just about anyone could wear any piece depending upon individual shape and style. It's the kind of warm and welcoming place where I felt I wanted to stay and not leave. But leave I must, but not before they kindly letting my use the WC which is always appreciated in the middle of a tiring shopping and exploring day. read more

Love the eclectic style of the place. Of course, I went for a haircut, however not only do they do great work, they're friendly and stylish. There are clothes and artwork for sale also, John, who worked, on my unruly hair did a great job of taming it. He also gave me a cut I wouldn't have thought of. Also, he trimmed my unruly eyebrows. The staff was friendly and welcoming. It is a small shop and yet the layout is inviting and delightful. They cut women's hair as well as men.
