The products are so different there- definitely not what we are used to here in America. They had the mayonnaise in a tube! A tube! It was so shocking to see it like that. We also had milk but it didn't taste like milk it was so sour and it was thick- so when we tried pouring it- it was all lumpy and a yogurt consistency as it poured out. As far as the ham and cheese it was pretty good and the bread was a baguette which was tasty. The soda was really good and was in a strange shaped bottle- everything was so strange looking. The best thing about this grocery store was the pastries and donuts- they were like 50 cents each and they were bakery fresh items that tasted like they were made on site. I don't know how the store looked but only know about the products and the taste of them due to my sister and her bf going to the store to get the food- but from what they were saying- they said the store was huge! And they had a bunch of sales. They said they paid $23.00 and brought back about 6 bags of food to the hotel. If we were to have 6 bags of groceries here- I'm sure it would've been more than $23. I heard Lidl is coming to Philly soon- which is great news- so I'm hoping they have the same great prices and the same donuts and pastries for cheap that taste so yummy.

This little shop has everything you could possible need and at a very affordable price point. I was able to purchase a new top, underwear and snacks to keep me going until my flight the next day. The wife needed a few pairs of longer socks for our next country of Ireland which is colder than most of Europe right now, especially at night. They only had a small selection of the high socks and not the right size, but settled for a pair of sandals for 1.3€ - what a deal. From the outside, it seems it would not be big; however, to my surprise, there are multiple levels and sectioned for any and everything you can think of. Men/Women/Children's clothing, accessories, makeup, etc. It was like a maze! Needless to say, for that reason I was inside far longer than I anticipated. One thing they have in common is the same great prices. I guess that may be a company standard worldwide, which is a good thing! I purchased an adorable bucket hat and a few other accessories as keepsakes.

Veggies and fruit - be wary what you buy and really check it's freshness. Some things were a day or so past it's prime, some a little older. I would recommend this place for things where freshness don't matter: frozen food, snacks, condiments or bottled items, toilet paper, paper towels, bouillon, etc. all that was fine and cheap. For fruits and veggies, hit it miss (more miss than hit). This place won't replace my visits to other markets, but will provide a cheaper supplement.
