    97' Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-V

I bought a 1997 Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-V from Harris at Motorcycle warehouse and have truly enjoyed the rig so far. I felt trusted as he was comfortable letting us fully inspect and test drive the truck with no time limit. It was a seamless process and I recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for a motorcycle or JDM import.

Hmmm... Forgot to install the adapter that fits the brake rotor to the wheel. Somebody might die. Oh well...

I have used them before and not had any problems. Wow! Things have changed. First I noticed a sign made up on the door that said they no longer do any service work except for tire changes. Well, they need to give that up too. I dropped off a wheel and tire and a new rim. They had previously installed the tire for me but evidently didn't check to see if it leaked. I had to put air in it daily. Crust inside the rim, so I bought a new one and wanted the tire moved from one to the other. They charged extra because the had to move the rotor too. Understandable. But they moved the rotor and not the adapter that makes it fit to the wheels. They left the adapter on the old wheel thus creating a free floating sort of affair that could surely get someone killed. I told them I didn't want to reuse the Nyloc washers. They say you can, but I would never on front end parts, especially brakes. They didn't even have any in stock. He told me to go buy some and he would install the brake rotor correctly. I said no thanks, I will do it myself, I can do it right, and not kill somebody. Then he got mad when I asked him for a receipt. He said "FINE! I'll write you a hand written receipt!" These guys don't even give receipts for their work! Hmmm... Then when I was putting it in my truck i noticed that they had also destroyed the brand new bearing seal. These guys need to give up ALL work and just stick to selling all those branded title junk bikes they sell. At least they probably give receipts for them.

Bought my first motorcycle ever here just a month ago. I was eyeballing there website every day like a lion stalkings it's prey.... I initially thought I would pick up a Yamaha R6 they were asking $4k for, but once I actually went to the shop and started sitting on bikes, I realized the stance was WAY to aggressive for me. That's when I saw the Triumph Street Triple 675, it was way more comfortable, looked immaculate, and only had one owner. I put a deposit down($200 for 2 weeks) THAT DAY. Exactly two weeks later I came back and paid in full for the bike. They were asking $5500, and that's what I paid. I'm 100% certain Harris would have happily taken $5000, hell, I'm pretty sure he would have taken $4800. But I was FEVERISH to make the bike mine. Anyways .... The day I went to pick up the bike, I decided to ride the bike around the neighborhood just to familiarize myself because this is my first REAL street bike. Well after riding around the block a few times, the bike just DIED. Now I thought for certain this was my fault because I was a new rider, but I called Harris (the owner) anyways and he rode over to assist. As it turns out it WAS an issue with the bike and he essentially pulled lightly on a wire running to the tachometer, and the bike started like normal. I ended up riding back to the shop and they worked on it for about an hour, and then called me to pick it up. Harris was super professional and nice about it. SO FAR, the issue has not come up again. If it comes up again , I would probably give Harris a call...... So.... The bikes amazing. Motorcycle Warehouse has great bikes at very fair prices (don't be afraid to negotiate, the worst you'll get is a no). Check out the pictures and pay the shop a visit !

As a new rider I had lots of questions and Todd and Kevin had lots of answers and patience. The first couple visits there there were several bikes that I was interested in but none seemed to really grab me and fit me as a rider and the riding I plan on doing. I appreciated the time they took to get to know me and the bikes and types of riding I wanted to do. They explained why they steered me away from certain bikes that they didn't think were good fits at the time and why other bikes might be better fits for me and when that time might be. When I did decide on the bike I really wanted (a sport classic GT1000) they coincidentally had one on consignment and rest is history... The purchasing process was smooth and painless and as a dealer experience (MotoCorsa) it is by far the more enjoyable of my motor vehicle dealer experiences. I'm looking forward to my next purchase there.

Gage came in under budget, even though he had to adjust (or whatever one does) the carburetor so it would work with my bike (previous owner had the carb replaced and it was replaced with an after market POS). I'm a pretty competent shadetree mechanic, mostly because I frickin love machines and cars and…read morebikes and tools, I was poor when I was young, cheap when I got older, and I never could stand the shady greasy predatory feeling I got when I went to most mechanics. You know, the old, "Welp, sounds like you're gonna need a new transmission." before they even look at your ride kind of bullshit. Or the smug know-it-all douches who look down their nose at your 20 year-old bike. Or the capable old guy you talked to who turned around and handed your dear, sweet darling over to the guy who is only qualified to vacuum the carpets, who then goes on to break five things, and the old guy then says it's gonna be an extra $500 because shit happens, ya'know? @#*&%ers! So yeah, laying around on a gravel driveway in the wintertime, bashing knuckles and cussing and riding my bicycle to the parts store and all that was fine and fun, but now I'm older and crankier and have some disposable income, I want to shop some of that shit out. But I'm still uptight and cheap, and I know my stuff, and I can smell BS from the next county over, and every motorcycle mechanic I've been to in the last two decades has either done a half-assed job, took for-frickin-ever, like six months to do the work, or was, like, 30 miles away. So I guess I'm a high-maintenance customer. Or rather, I just want what everyone wants, which is the thing fixed at a reasonable price, within a reasonable time frame, and with a little fluffing of my ego. Is that too much to ask? And I like to learn things about my equipment and maybe my bad habits, so I can better work on both of them in the future. Which brings me to HDR. Within the first 30 seconds of talking to Gage on the phone, all that history of bad mechanics just washed away. He listened, spoke clearly and to the point, without trying to dazzle me with any of them big words and fancy talk, he was friendly, and the price he quoted me was, in my opinion, too low, but I'm not complaining. Still, I've been burned before, and I've had some messy breakups with mechanics, like the guys who were cool with me, but then cheated my little old lady mom when she went in, so I went in with eyes wide open, hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. However, the whole thing went better than expected. He was done sooner than expected, did what he said he was gonna do, and for the price he told me. He also checked out the general condition of my bike found a couple things that will need addressing in the future, but no hard sell. He obviously knows his stuff, is uptight about getting it done right, and actually wanted to argue with me about me just paying $2 extra rather than waiting around for change from a $100 bill. Take the $2 Gage. Buy half a coffee with it. My spidey sense did not tingle. I learned some stuff. My bike works really well. We shot the breeze. That is all I want from a mechanic. It was only the first job, but seriously, this was one hell of a first job! Oh shit, I think I just wrote an essay! Well, I guess that's how much a good mechanic means to me. That's all I got. Thanks Gage, I'll be bringing in my other bike soon too, after I stuff all these wires back in.
