I can't believe Alter Ego MC is right here in Shawnee, KS. It's hard to find a small privately owned Harley Davidson parts place like this anymore. This weekend Jesse made my day. I needed an extension to clear the exhaust pipe and mount passenger footrests on my 2002 Heritage Softail. He had one set he just got in for another customer. Unknown to me, while I was looking at other things, he called the customer who could not come get it for another week and a half, so the customer let me buy it and Jesse ordered another set for him. His prices are very reasonable and far lower than what you'd pay at a Harley dealer. Having been in retail myself my entire career, Jesse at Alter Ego, is doing an amazing job at taking care of his customers. I've already recommended Alter Ego to several others and will use any excuse to my wife to stop by. Overall I'd say great value. My experience using this shop had some hurdles, but it was handled well. There was a miscommunication about scheduling that was upsetting, but they made up for it by getting me in the next day. There was a strange noise that appeared after the repair, and when I returned without an appointment to address it, it was fixed within 30 minutes at no additional cost. These situations showed me that Derek's automotive takes responsibility where other shops don't. Props to Austin at the desk for being very knowledgeable and taking care of me.
