They had replaced a transmission in a Galant that I owned, and their replacement failed within 6 months. John at Excel Transmission insisted that I must have "abused" the transmission, and refused to honor any warranties associated with his work. Perhaps I took it too personally, but this company screwed me big time and I'll never forget it.

Back again to sing Aamco's praises - again, I've found them trustworthy, honest, straight talking,…read moreknowledgeable, charge only for diagnosis. Best possible mechanic experience, I can't recommend Aamco highly enough. I brought my 2013 Ford Focus to them after having transmission issues for the lifetime of the car (bought used 4 years ago, now at about 115,000 miles). The Ford dealership repeatedly pushed for expensive repairs, for what I've since learned last 10-15,000 miles before something else will break down. Ford is handling the issue poorly, and this car just isn't worth new parts. I joined the class action lawsuit against Ford last year and have decided to save on repairs to get a different car; the owner agreed that this was the best action. Because Aamco only charges for work done on the car, not diagnosis, they refused payment for this invaluable information. I'm extremely happy with my experience with them, and highly recommend their work.
