It honestly doesn't take much to make a gym great, but Bay Club feels stuck in the past. The men's locker room is gross and smells. There's a persistent musky odor that's hard to stomach, likely coming from old carpet that's clearly been there for years. The men's showers are equally bad, with hair everywhere, inconsistent cleanliness, and low water pressure, which makes the entire experience feel unhygienic and poorly maintained. The men's sauna is especially concerning. There appears to be little to no ventilation, creating a heavy, stagnant environment that can allow dangerous CO buildup. On top of that, the walls and benches in the sauna are extremely outdated, reinforcing the sense that this space hasn't been refreshed or properly maintained in a long time. The products provided (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) are low quality and full of questionable ingredients, which feels completely out of place for a club charging premium prices. The weight room is constantly messy, with plates scattered everywhere and mismatched equipment. It feels chaotic instead of intentional. The outdoor gym is another huge missed opportunity. With the space and climate, it could be incredible, but instead it feels underdeveloped and outdated. Overall, everything just feels old and complacent. There's so much opportunity here, yet it seems like no one is pushing to raise the standard. After experiencing what a well-run gym can be, this falls short. I'll probably be canceling soon unless major improvements are made

I had just come from a weekend away in Palm Springs, where I had planned to relax, run, and engage in as much fitness as possible. I headed out for a run on New Years Day; new shoes, new lululemon pants, new Garmin watch, and after about 20 min. my outer knee was in so much pain I had to basically walk the rest of the way home. I was devastated and confused. Not only had I run for about an hour for 2 days in a row prior, I have been an avid runner since High School. Even with icing my knee for about 3 days straight, nothing was helping and I knew I had done something more serious. My history of running - I have run a total of around 4 or 5 half marathons easily, no knee pain since 2012. Completed many 10K's and casual runs on my own at least twice a week for years. It was something that happened so out of the blue, I am just thankful that Alex entered my life when he did. He started out with the basics, which at the time seemed a little out of context. "What other workouts do you do? What has changed in your exercise in the last year". I couldn't really come up with much, other than lots of YOGA. Becoming a certified Yoga teacher and basically doing yoga everyday for the past year only seemed like it was helping my running. Of course. Alex saw this as a red flag right away. With the types of exercises that I was engaging in on a weekly basis, I was only extending ligaments and asking parts of my body (my knee) to over compensate. This then effected my IT band, more weight in my calfs, soreness, you name it. It's a vicious cycle. After about 5 sessions with Alex - he not only identified the root cause of my pain, but trained me to run in a different pattern so I could alleviate the pain, without having to give up what I love. We took everything in phases, added in weights, combined static movements with real time workouts and in no time, I was back. To this day pain or not, I have shifted the way I run bc he has taught to me always look ahead. Alex sees prevention of injury like no one else I have ever met. I am not a very optimistic person when it comes to my body, bc I am very in tune with how it wants operate, or not operate for that matter. I was completely in awe when I made it through my first 30 min. From January 25th, when I tried to run a 5K and made it 5 min, to about mid February, I was running about 25-30 min. and now, I can run over an hour with no knee pain. Alex sees things and connections that no one else I have ever see does. I went to 2 different knee specialists who were runners themselves and left with very little optimism, and zero improvement. Alex has a holistic approach to the body that cannot necessarily be taught. It's in his intuitive nature and he sees the way in which body connects. This knowledge that he has is why he can not only guide people to overcome their injuries, but can advise on how to avoid degenerative tendencies that come with age, overuse, and in my opinion... a passion for your sport. I couldn't be more thankful for his knowledge, expertise and precision when it comes to the human body and protecting it for the rest of the active I life I have. Thanks Alex! :)

I initially went to him for 10 sessions, but I'm completely hooked now! I'm hoping to keep it up for as long as the $$ allows! He's got a great personality, is very professional, yet fun, always on time and very dedicated! I love how he clearly cares about your fitness! I am always so amazed at how much he can accomplish in 30 minutes time! Not one minute is wasted! Highly recommend him!

    I am not seeing Marko for fitness but for his Acupressure-Massage for cronic soft tissue hip pain…read more Before I found Marko, through a trusted friend, I tried deep tissue massage, chiropractic, ultrasound, laser treatments, stretching, sauna, swimming and exercise. Nothing was working and I'm trying to get in shape to hike mountains in Colorado in 3 months but have a lot of pain just walking my dog, sitting or sleeping! After just two sessions with Marko and I'm finally getting some relief. I'm so excited to finally feel like I won't have to cancel my hiking trip! This is a massage like no other I have ever had and I work in the spa industry. He is so strong and gets so deep that while it is happening it is quite painful but he guides you in breathing through it and doesn't go beyond what each client can personally handle. You could never get a massage this deep at a professional business - it's that deep! You have to really want to get better and trust that doing the work will get you there. Feel free to stop here if you are already sold, but I'll give you my story if you need some more convincing. Last year I put on 50 pounds during my pregnancy with my first child. I realized towards the end of my pregnancy that if I did not do something to lose that weight after I gave birth that I would be "one of those women who lost their figure and never got it back" for the rest of my life. I decided then that my goal was to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight by the time I went back to work after maternity leave. Marko helped me achieve this goal, and I absolutely could not have done it without him. I started training with Marko six weeks and three days postpartum. I had not worked out for months since before my pregnancy, and had not consistently worked out in years. I was very lucky to lose 35 of those 50 pounds the first three weeks after I gave birth just from nursing, but the weight loss stopped there and I was stuck with another fifteen pounds that wouldn't budge. The first thing you notice about Marko is that he is incredibly fit. The next thing you notice about Marko is that everyone he is training is incredibly fit. As I looked at the perfectly sculpted body of the other woman Marko would be training alongside me that first day I felt completely intimidated and extremely hopeful at the same time. I wondered if I would ever get back into my pre-pregnancy jeans, but I figured if he helped her look as good as she did perhaps there was hope for me too. The thing is, she is not an anomaly. Everyone who works out with him looks that good! I'm not going to lie, the training was brutal at first. I was completely out of shape, and working out after 3-5 hours of interrupted sleep with a newborn was no joke. But Marko ramped me up slowly. I loved his philosophy about the intensity of workouts. He would demonstrate an exercise for me, give me the number of sets and reps, and then told me to complete them at my own pace. He gave me an analogy about his dog Pablo, "Pablo fetches the ball over and over again until he is tired. Then he stops for a bit an rests in the shade. When he is ready to play again he gets up and keeps going", Marko told me. So I worked out as hard as I could, and I rested when I needed to before starting again. Marko gradually ramped up the intensity of my workouts over the next few weeks as I grew stronger and stronger. I only had the energy to work out with him twice per week, but I committed to always go train with him those two times weekly no matter how exhausted I was from taking care of my new baby. Within a month or so I noticed an incredible change in my stamina and the amount of weight I could lift. By the time I went back to work I had lost every last one of those 15 pounds of pregnancy weight. My co-workers were completely amazed that I had lost all 50 pounds in just 4 and a half months. I'm not sure if it was harder to start working out with a newborn or to keep working out after returning to work full-time and taking care of an infant when I got home. I can also honestly say that I would've fallen off the wagon if it wasn't for Marko encouraging me to keep up my new level of fitness and to not lose momentum. As I tried to get back into the groove at work there were times I was not able to train with Marko and would instead try to workout on my own. Marko would send me texts to check in on me and ask if I had made time to workout that week. The guilt I would feel if I had not done so would make me go to the gym the next day. Plus I knew that he would kick my a*#$ the next time I trained with him so I better stay in shape or I would be seriously feeling it. I am still training with Marko, and I now weigh 10 pounds less than I did when I got pregnant. This weekend I put on a dress I bought before I met my husband that had not fit since. The dress fit perfectly, and he had never seen me in it in the five years we have been together. I can now say that Marko has not only transformed my body but he has transformed my life. I really look forward to working out with him, and am self-motivated to workout on my own three or four days a week. Marko still sends me texts to check in on me and make sure I'm, "Doing my homework," as he says. The best part is when I workout at the same time as one of his other clients who hasn't seen me for awhile and they say, "Wow, you look great!". So what are you waiting for!? If we happen to train at the same time one of these days I guarantee you won't know that I am the one who weighed over 200 pounds last July. I am on my way to having the beautiful atheletic body the rest of Marko's clients have as you will be too if you call Marko!

I've had trainers before, but this is by far the best training experience I've had, and I can say I've made a friend for life. Jaclyn is an excellent trainer: knowledgeable, intuitive, and thoughtful in how she programs our sessions. She focuses on sustainable progress, keeps things grounded and concentrates effort on movement that provides results rather than flashy moves. She communicates clearly and encourages feedback. She is firm without ever being aggressive, which I genuinely appreciate. Most importantly, she's never judgmental, which I have found is a rare trait in a trainer, especially a supremely fit one like her. She meets you exactly where you are, and knows when to push, when to listen, and when to shift gears so you walk away feeling stronger--not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. Which brings me to my second point: what makes Jaclyn stand out from the field is who she is as a human being: joyful, kind, warm, wise, grounded, and genuinely invested in her clients' well-being. She is not only smart and sharp, but also spiritual, always keen on figuring out the lessons she can learn from every situation. She is incredibly humble and never puts the spotlight on herself, even when she could. And she listens well and brings great perspective to every conversation--I have never left a session not feeling better about life. I've grown stronger and leaner working with Jaclyn and I look forward to every session. I trust her and I'm so grateful she's in my life. So…read morehappy I found Jaclyn!! :) If you are shy, introverted or intimidated by the gym atmosphere like me, then you should definitely work with Jaclyn!! She has great energy and at the same time, she will always meet you at your level, and maybe even bring you out of your shell little by little when you're ready. :) I'm on a hybrid program where I have a full program (like 4 workouts per week for 4 weeks) created by Jaclyn-- 3 of those days I work out at home on my Tonal, and 1 day I train with her in person at the gym. I come in on different days (like Day 1 this week, then Day 3 next week etc) so I can try all the moves with her in person. She is so attentive and always makes sure the exercise is safe for me! Whenever I have questions, she explains the technical details well and gives me simple cues which really helps me improve my form. The workouts are always challenging, but never to the point where I'm exhausted for the rest of the day. As for nutrition, she also has a macro guide and meal plan suggestion for me which is not meant to be strict at all! It's really just a guide to start making manageable switches here and there. I didn't really "give up" anything and Jaclyn actually encourages listening to your body, be it having a cookie or skipping a workout on a bad day. So simple but it makes so much sense!! In three months (Oct 2024 - Dec 2024), I was able to go down from XL/L to M!! (well, sometimes still L since commercial sizing is inconsistent haha). Realistically, my weight hasn't drastically changed, but the visible changes are really noticeable especially through clothes, measurements and pictures!! I was able to enjoy the holiday festivities without "holding back" because I knew I had a good foundation for my health. I still have those days where I worry if I "messed up" my progress the past week, but the next time I meet Jaclyn, she always calms my worries and reinforces that we have been putting in the work so I am good. Phew!! This has been the longest I've had healthy habits without being burned out at all, and that's really what it means to make sustainable healthy changes. All that to say, Jaclyn has been the best find and the best investment I made for myself in 2024!! Looking forward to this year as well!!
