Whether driven by rumors or predatory behavior, targeting vulnerable individuals who are simply trying to utilize a gym they pay for is unacceptable -- and the response from certain members of leadership has been equally troubling. Staff should consistently uphold Planet Fitness's core values: friendliness, non-judgment, cleanliness, and professionalism. When members feel empowered to approach staff demanding that someone be removed solely because of their housing status -- and leadership entertains those complaints rather than protecting the targeted member -- it represents a serious failure of both culture and responsibility. To be clear: an unhoused paying member who is not violating any policies and is minding their own business has every right to be there. Anyone who harasses them should be the one whose membership is at risk, not the other way around. I have witnessed and heard accounts of certain managers threatening memberships against individuals who were themselves the victims of harassment. That is not sound leadership -- it is a liability. Harassment without cause can carry legal consequences, and when leadership enables or ignores it, they become the liability. Not everyone is equipped to lead, and those who are not should be retrained or repositioned accordingly. The same applies to staff who mirror poor leadership. Planet Fitness has the infrastructure to be a safe, welcoming space for everyone. But when predatory, slanderous, and dangerous behavior goes unchecked, that mission is undermined entirely. We received a very warm welcome on our first day, Jonathan taught our class, and believe me when I say, He Kicks Butt!!! The class was fun but very challenging, and if you are a competitive person, this is definitely the right place for you. You won't find any girlie ellipticals and treadmills here -lol, so dont even try it, leave your pride at the door and get ready to sweat. The gym was clean, and well organized and I was happy to see that the class started on time. So if your ready to get lean, mean & fit, check 'em out.

Well it's plain to see why this gym sucks... Its management. Practically had to beg to even to get…read morethem to sign me up. Now wish I didn't. The staff is rude and lazy. They're wrapped up in messing with their phones at the front desk rather than greeting you, much less walking around and putting weights away or picking up trash. But it's obviously because the management hasn't set the expectations for them. Weights are left everywhere, the music from the classrooms is blaring, young hommies leave the door to basketball court open so you can hear the squeaking shoes & yelling over your headphones but also they love to walk out in the gym SHIRTLESS bouncing their basketballs. I mentioned this once to a trainer (who looks like hes never worked out a day in his life) and basically told me it wasn't his problem The gym is ridiculously busy, you'll never get on the only cable set. So I went to cancel and was told I have to come back 8-5 mon-fri (You know, when the rest of us are at work). I took off work early, walked in, a lone scruffy dude eating a nutrition bar. The convo: Me: "Is the operations manager here" Him: mmm Humm (still chewing his nutrition bar) Me: may I speak to him? Him: mmm hummm (still chewing) Me: um, ok, are YOU the operations manager? Him: mmm Humm (still chewing) Me: I'd like to cancel my membership. Him: ok. .....why? I listed my reasons. Rather than apologize or try to save a member or even take some constructive criticism, he argued with me. I just said "hey, you asked" he said "ok, you're canceled". Not a word further. At least he was rudely eating a nutrition bar. Two gals the other day were eating ice cream at the front desk. Nice image for someone going to the gym to loose weight! But the manager, Jason, WHAT A JERK. The ONLY reason this gym does well is its busy location. The staff is atrocious. NEVER LA Fitness again, never.
