I'm going to be very honest here... When my doctor referred me, I figured they would give me some generic exercises just for insurance money. But honestly, these guys are so hands on and helpful! Mike is from the Philippines and has studied physical therapy and he's very passionate about it. They check on you less than every 10 minutes to make sure you're not in too much pain. No one answered the phone, emails, or text messages to set up appointments. The Lawndale location has an older lady with special needs, apparently, at the desk who mumbles when she talks and throws out insulations when you ask her to speak up. The last time I came no one answered the phone, emails, or texts, either. Multiple insults came my way at me and my young daughter again. She had me redo the pre-authorization for some minor details. That took over a month. My appointment for an evaluation by the physical therapist was set out 3 months away, on purpose to irritate, since nobody is there as usual in the midst of summer. There is no reason for any of this. I had my pre-authorization complete and in hand at the beginning of May 2023. It took over 3 months to get an appointment scheduled because no one answered the phone, email, or text messages, and I had to be evaluated by a therapist before my therapy could start. Ultimately had to go in numerous times to schedule but finally had 3 therapy sessions in mid to late August. Finally. But now it's late August the hottest summer on record, setting a World Record. I wanted to begin therapy at the beginning of May when it was cool but was forced to begin in late August amid a great heat wave. I'm a returning customer, I have been here for over 2.5 years before and during the pandemic. I came in as a quadriplegic, with collapsed lungs, heart failure, and bearly alive. Now I am here for rehabilitation after having a lung removed. I'm no longer a quadriplegic. Almost back to normal, thank God. Lots of hard work! I fell from dizziness on my third visit here because of the heat wave, the pool is turned up too high at 98° - 100° plus, which used to be set at a high 80s max, and the hot sun shines in the pool room, with no curtains. So I cancelled my next three visits awaiting a cool down. Then the older lady at the front desk, Zen Bone, contacted me and canceled all my appointments because I missed them. Just unbelievable. I plan on contacting the owner on Monday, 9/18/23. If no result, I will then contact the licensing board. I've seen many and know of licensing violations. I contacted Zen Bone each time I cancelled and told her I had heat issues especially the 100° plus pool. The owner is Henrick Macalintal I believe. Wish me luck. read more

Don't bother going here, the staff is Very Rude! Your first time that you're in the pool you're told that you will be on your own doing your exercises in the future. The only exercises that I was taught were simple stretches. I can learn a lot more watching online videos. Its my 5th PT session today and I am very happy with the progress I made on the range of motion on my left shoulder. I came in with chronic pain on my shoulder and left SC jt and paralysis of my left trapezius muscle. Denise and Henrick did an amazing job on their plan of care and treatment plan. I love the combination of modalities and exercises they gave me to improve my strength and decrease my pain. They use Extracorporeal Magnetic Transduction Therapy device, ultrasound , cupping, red cord, shockwave and joint mobilization. Not all therapy clinic provides modalities that can help with pain and discomfort. As a therapist myself, I highly recommend this place. Best therapy clinic I have been to! Doctor referred me to this place for my back pain for about 3 months and I can say that my back pain had improved significantly since I started! I had Daily planned exercises from one of the physical therapist there, Hendrick Macalintal. Also, their front receptionist was always so helpful and always nice. I broke my ankle in February of 2022 and began therapy mid-May at Motion Plus Aquatic & Therapy Center Long Beach location while still using a medical boot and crutches. I have been going for therapy with them two times a week for around a year and four months. And during my time with them I have regained my ankle's mobility and have even improved my physical strength. By keeping up with my exercises at home and following the teams' recommendations not only did my ankle improve more than my doctor's expectations, but it is also almost at the same level that it used to be. And as a bonus of following the exercise routines at home I was even able to lose 47 lb. and maintain the weight off. Everyone at the therapy center is extremely welcoming and friendly, they have all been very attentive to the exercises my ankle needed and they have been very encouraging throughout the entire process. The whole team goes above and beyond to help everyone at the center making it a truly memorable experience. I will miss all the team Mike, Denise, Harris, Dianne, and Jocelyn. You have all treated me like part of your family at Motion Plus which I am grateful for. In 2022 I suffered from lower back pain, I had multiple X-rays but yet there was no underlying issue. My doctor recommended physical therapy and sent me here. Not only is the place close to my home, they have parking and a clean workplace but the therapists were so kind and welcoming. Right when you come in you are greeted with a smile, they explain your exercises: which muscles you're working out and why and how to do them correctly without hurting yourself. I was lucky enough to get aquatic therapy there too. It's a 4 feet deep pool so it's okay for non swimmers like me. I now have little to no pain in my lower back! Whenever I do after a long day, I know the stretches that I have to do that were recommended for me during the sessions.
