I don't typically write reviews myself but feel this one is important. I lived here for a year and a half and had more issues than positive experiences. It was nice for the staff to have "Thankful Thursday's" and community events and attentive maintenance but other than that, it was not a pleasant experience. I toured and it looked great, was shown an updated apartment and was told the gate would be functioning within three months. When I officially moved in, it was during covid and the floor plan that I had selected was not what was expected and not updated. I called prior to ensure I selected an updated unit but it was not what I received and was told that there were no others I could move to. It is not in a safe part of town, located right next to a fire station so there are sirens constantly, and the promised gate still does not work so there are many random people walking around always. Parking sucks and when suggested they move to a different parking model where it's unassigned parking as there are hundreds of unattended "assigned" parking spots at all times, they hung up. I was screwed out of my security deposit because they claim I had pets and needed it for carpet cleaning when not once did any form of animal step foot in the apartment (mainly due to the fact that I am allergic, so...). Office staff was unfriendly any time I needed to call for something. Not a good experience. read more

There are so many bad things I can say about this place it's hard to know where to begin. To start simple for the price the quality of the apartments themselves is not worth it. You can get a way nicer place is a WAY nicer area for the same price. I know because I am currently in a more professional, clean, newly remodeled apartment in an area that doesn't have heroin needles all over the grass at the park that is directly next door. Next issue doesn't sound too bad but the parking situation is the worst I have ever experienced. It's as if there's 100 parking spots with 300 cars in the complex who need to park. There are nights you drive in circles over and over to never find a spot and have to park all the way down the street in a neighborhood. I lived there for about a year and in that time there were multiple times cops were called on neighbors for domestic violence, fighting, and who knows what else. I kept my apartment very clean and still had roaches. Which if you look at other reviews is a common theme. The maintenance staff is awful. I had to put in a report for my ac unit probably at least 5 times and they would come in and "fix" it and it would start immediately having the same issues again. My dishwasher leaked every time I used it and after multiple times of having them come in to fix it the last time they didn't even put a screw back in and I finally gave up and started hand washing my dishes. They also put a hole in the wall of my apartment through my neighbors apartment and came in and did a terrible 2 minute job at filling the hole and never even painted over it so I had a big white blob over the cream colored paint for the duration I lived there. I had mold growing all over the bathroom that no matter how many times I cleaned it came back and their solution was "shower with the door open". I found out I'm pregnant and wanted to be in a nicer home with baby so I decided to break my lease and move out. My only regret with that decision is that they have made my move move out process hell. I am a retail store manager I never ever leave bad reviews anywhere but I have lived in multiple apartments through the years and this was BY FAR the worst experience I have ever had from start to finish. They make you get your carpets cleaned when you move out using their vendors. Which I have NEVER heard of in my life until living in this place. I called their vendor and was quoted $119. After talking to the office they told me I could just have them take from my deposit to cover the carpet charge. After moving out I received an email stating that my deposit covered all my move out charges and they just needed a forwarding address to send the remainder of my deposit to. A month goes by and I get an email on Friday saying that this is a final notice that I owe $800. They charged me $250 for a carpet clean, 250 for a pet fee which is unfair because I did not own a pet and tried to say the carpet was severely damaged which it was not and charged me to replace it. I had my own carpet cleaner which I used regularly and I have photos I took on my own before I moved. After reading other reviews on here I see I am not the only person who they did this to. They also charged me a bunch of other ridiculous fees. Was told before move out they would do a walk through at move out and canceled on me. Then tried to tell me they don't do walk through a right now. Was never told that before. I called the office and was told to call back Monday to speak to Catie. By the time I got through to her on Monday she told me my bill was already in collections. She tried to say they sent me multiple notices. I asked them for photo or screenshot proof of the email notices she says they sent me and I have never heard back from them. If you are thinking of moving in here read the other reviews. They are 100% true. I wish I had read reviews before moving in but I was desperate due to covid issues at the time. Now my credit will likely be ruined thanks to them. And again I'm not the only one who has gone through this same exact issue. It's crazy. Debating whether or not it's worth it to hire a lawyer to look into all of this. read more

I have lived here since September and I feel like I live in a totally different apartment complex than everyone posting these reviews. I first checked out the Villas back in July when it was under former management. I immediately fell in love with the model and applied as soon as I could for the same model plan. Since the beginning, management has been very helpful and even put up with my constant questions, since this is my first apartment on my own. My apartment is clean and when the new management took over they had their pest control company come in and check out the apartments. The pest control guy was very friendly and told me if I ever see anything to let the management know and they will take care of things right away. Parking is an issue. The spots are too tight, there aren't enough spaces, and that is the worst part about the parking. My boyfriend parked on the far side by the management office one night and because his passenger door was unlocked someone got into his truck. It was an annoyance that a few things were stolen, but it could have happened anywhere. This is an older apartment that is not in the best area of town. Although, it's not the worst, either. So, unfortunately, there will be shady people and weird incidents at different times. Sadly, it's the way of the world is these days. The only thing I can do about it is make sure to know my neighbors a little better. Two nights ago, I noticed my garbage disposal leaking. I called the front office, yesterday, and talked to Pepper, who was very friendly and got the maintenance order in right away. Today, Rudy came in, replaced my garbage disposal and I now have the day. It's a wonderful starter apartment. It's not gated and it's not Scottsdale, but until I get a house, instead of an apartment, I am happy to call Villas at Cave Creek my home. read more

This is my second time staying in this apartment complex. The first time was back in 2017. My one bedroom was nice and on the plus side I was the first tenant inside after the remodeling. Now here we are in 2021 and the apartments have went down hill. When I looked at my apartment the carpet was "clean" but you can tell the last residents had a dog cause it smelled. Once I moved in, not even a week later damn carpet spots started appearing, smh. So basically they cleaned it real good just for the showing but damn carpet was actually dirty. It should be been replaced. Homeless walk around the complex and dig in the trash. People let their dogs pop all over the grass. The walls are thin as heck. Sounds like my neighbors are coming throw the roof. I have a newborn and they stay waking her up. My AC was leaking for like two weeks. I basically had to threaten them about mold. With me having a baby in the home and it causing harm to her. My lease is up in three months and I can't wait. read more

I am still getting bullied by my former apartment complex (Villas at Cave Creek) and they are arguing over the move out invoice. Since I was kicked out, I should not be paying for carpet cleaning, especially since they are replacing carpet due to their reason, "extensive renovations." That is called stealing. I sent a partial payment (even though I do not agree) as I am on a fixed income and they literally told me today they are returning my check since it is not the amount they want. I have lived here since August I believe the new management team took over around October and ever since they have been in charge now things are awesome! I was hesitant to move in these apartments because of the area and that they were older but I needed something quick and affordable I'm so glad that I made the choice to come here because the new management team has gone above and beyond to make these apartments a better place to live. maintenance is always quick.I haven't had to have many things fixed but when I have they fix it very quickly. they have fixed the exterior of the property and every time I have questions in the office everyone's very pleasant and very helpful. read more

One of the worst complexes I have ever lived in. Don't get me wrong the apartment was nice, but that was is. weidner has made this complex a joke. Constant construction that inconveniences residents. They don't care. Our upstairs neighbor was super loud every night at 3AM we filled multiple complaints (none which were documented) and then they said "oh you need to prove it. Take a video of the noise". So obsurd. Our parking space is so far away from our apartment and don't even get me started on where I need to park since I'm the second car. Never have the same employees in the office, dog poop everywhere. Expect your water to be turned off 90% of the time and expect to pay $70 a month for water. Don't rent from here!!! read more

Sigh...so first of all, let me tackle a lot of the negative comments, seems like this world we are living in is getting dumber by the second. So first of all, Ive been living here since Nov 2018 and for the people who their whole lives revolve around this perfect customer service, like seriously grow up and understand people don't like it when other people get in their faces or start problems. The whole staff team has been nothing but respectful and courteous to me, because I give it back to them. They are nice, on point, and are willing the accommodate your needs. Sure they are not perfect but they are trying, so good job staff. If you find them snarky or rude, stop being sensitive, because I've never got that from them. Secondly, if your having roach or bed bugs, then either the person prior was dirty or you brought it with you. No more can be done expect for calling in the bug guy and have him do his job. Its just part of the nature when moving in to a place that someone has also lived in it before. Just clean everyday and kill them with pesticides. There's no construction going on, since they have finished the remodeling, but there was a complaint about how noisy they were and they couldn't enjoy there day off of work, like seriously grow up, what do you want them to do? Go to your apt room and say hey its your day off can we work tomorrow? If you ever lived in a apt complex before, you know the deal about possible noisy neighbors, if you've lived with your parents all your life, then listen, there's a chance that you will have a noisy neighbor, upstairs or around you. That's just part of the living in a building with people. I can hear my neighbors in my bathroom when they are in their bathroom, no biggie really. If it bothers you that much, get a house where you can be a couple feet away from other people, that simple. Understand that they do not have one service person per room number, it goes by units. So, expect at least a week for your service to be completed, your not the only one with a broken sink, that's just a normal apt complex thing. If your looking for a nice looking apt with a decent price, this is a good place to look at. Granite tops, black appliances, wood tile with carpet, fire place on most apts, its really good compared to others. I'm happy and satisfied at how it looks. Things to improve and look out. Parking is tight, but blame the engineer who constructed this, not the staff. They are trying to improve the parking so atleast they care. Just know how to park a car like a regular person. They should put a gate on the entrances, I've seen homeless people digging in the dumpsters, not a big deal but doesn't look good. Also, if you have a car, expect to walk a few feet, and not visually see your car from your balcony, so that's something they can improve on. I would like to see if someone's messing with my car. They should also put more grass around the property, a lot of people have dogs and when they pee on the rocks, you can smell it. They do have an issue with the water pipe, goes off for a few hours, but its out of their control, I'm sure they didn't construct it. But they do give you a heads up on your email and text a day or two prior. Because of this I cant give it a 5 star. Not the safest area, but not the worst like baseline. It is phoenix so you know the drill. Other then that, for the price, I'm happy with my stay. Looks great in the inside, and staff is their to help you out. May not be perfect but they are trying to improve it to make everyone happy. Basic thing to know is if you have ever lived in an apt complex before, you know the basic issues that come along with it. If its your first time moving away from mommy and daddy or you want things to go 100% for you, then you might need to look somewhere else or just suck it up. I first moved in about a year ago..only because I was in desperate need of a apartment asap and they had one available..at the time of my lease arrangement the property was managed by milestone..I always got the correct amount of my rent billed to me no mistakes the staff was always so nice and helpful I had no issues at all up until new management came in and I honestly have got to say this new management is horrible! ! I originally signed up for a 13 month lease but at my 12 month mark I pretty much was asked to move out earlier than expected due to renovations in my building I felt as if I was being kicked out..being a responsible tenant always payed my rent on time never late not once...rude staff and not one bit organized 2 months in a row they made mistake with my rent, parking sucks water is constantly getting shut off my apartment and my neighbors got broken into.. security deposit was about $800 am I getting any of that back??? NOPE I left my apartment in a good condition only flaw was my carpet which is expected to get dirty after a 12month time period btw especially having a toddler. They charged me a $500 dollar carpet installation fee ridiculous why would they charge me that much if they are going to renovate anyways? If I would have known I would have done it myself!! I DO NOT recommend this property to anyone there is nicer more affordable places. Wiedner apartments suck they will scam and screw you over save your money and take your business elsewhere. read more

I have live here for 5 months and the experience residing here is horrible. The on going construction and remodeling on the site is never-ending, noise level is extremely high, I work late and is impossible to rest during the day, at night the securities walk very close the to windows with the walky talky radios on and loud. Apartment is infected with roaches, although the bug exterminator sprays once a week which I get bill for on my rent, the roaches were already here when I moved in, I shouldn't have to pay to the exterminator. My 2bed, 2bath apartment is quite huge and so is the rent, according to contract it was 820.00 a month I end up paying over 1000.00 with the water, trash, sewer, exterminator fee, taxes, and other fees. Staff at the office are as nice as they can be at the time of having your signature on a contract, then the rudeness begins. Staff goals is to show apt. get people to move in, not retain or have tenants renew their contracts, I have seen so many people move out every day, there is a track and a tenant moving out. Upper management staff is incompetent the assistant community directer deleted an ez-signature from my account when it was already send by another male staff whom I was working with, then she stated she was not aware of it. In addition, she sends me a nasty text which i still have on my phone as proof saying the ez sign was no longer available. Next day went to office she stated she made a mistake and I was still going to get charge for the fees, why should I have to pay for her incompetence and unability to fix her mistakes, that only make me wonder to how many resident she has neglected. This is a nice beautiful complex in the outside but management is a third world class complex. Do not move in here take your business elsewhere, I should have pay attention to the review I wouldn't be writing one today. read more

Just moved in 3 months ago apartments are very nice, the only problem I have is my parking space. Live by the front entrance and for some stupid reason my parking space is at the very back entrance of the apartment complex. I asked if I could have a much closer parking space and management was very rude about it when I asked him if he could help me. He was very unprofessional said that he assigns parking spaces accordingly well if he did I wouldn't have to walk 8 freaking minutes to get to my vehicle such a stupid problem to have when i see so many empty parking spaces not being occupied right by my apartment. I would not recommend this complex to anyone, being that I'm a new tenant I really was thinking they would accommodate me. I guess I should just rent out my parking space to the people that live around there. I'm not the only one with this problem, like really how hard is it to assign a parking spot. And being harassed by the stupid security staff every night after parking my car is just too much. read more

When we looked at the apartment it appeared to be clean and well maintained. The layout is spacious and the base rate of rent is reasonable. The water and electric is high. Our apartment is very warm in the summer even with the AC going all day. The first day we were unpacking our things we found a giant cockroach. We had pest control come but we have had a constant issue with them. Pest control comes every other week and we put traps out but the roaches are endless. Its disgusting. There are rocks under the carpet in several areas. Everything is painted over, including bathtubs and cabinets, and its all peeling. It looks terrible. Maintenance is very friendly but will take weeks to come fix things unless its marked emergency, in which they are very quick. It took over a month and calls to the manager to get something fixed once. Our car has been broken into in the parking lot. There are always bums rummaging the garbage. There is dog poop everywhere. people FLY through the parking lots, my children and I have almost been hit by a car several times. There needs to be speed bumps. The pools are usually clean but there are always kids in it without parents, or the parents are rude and smoking in the pool, or overly loud and swearing. The place really needs 24/7 patrol. The apartments are LOUD. You can hear every single step the upstairs neighbor takes. They jump around and bang nonstop day and night. They blare their tv and slam the door in our face if we ask them to stop. When they walk the windows shake. The office staff is friendly. I like the package receiving. Thats about it. read more

I moved in March 2015 today was my official move out date, but let me tell you about the events that lead to my move. First of all, my apartment was a model, so the carpet was DISGUSTING. There were nasty pink stains on all of the counter tops, dents in the door, the paint on the walls was peeling and dripped all over the baseboards and carpet, but as they were only little things, my fiancé and I moved in because we had to have a place to live immediately. The parking was absolutely terrible. Only 10 visitor spots for 4, 3 story apartment buildings and only one spot per apartment. We have 2 vehicles and because the entire complex is pitch black at night my fiancé was concerned about my safety so he would park all the way across the complex and walk very far in the middle of the night instead of having to worry about my safety. The people that live in the apartments are very sketchy. There was a lot of theft. Now back to the apartment itself, I've heard from many neighbors that they were a problem, but for myself seeing a giant roach crawl out of my chandelier was incredibly nasty. So fast forward to June 2015, my washer flooded my apartment because it wasn't installed properly. 3 inches of water in my kitchen, the living room, bedroom and closet flooded. I called maintenance who vacuumed the water out of the carpet and put fans in but did nothing else! My closet still smells moldy! The woman underneath me suffered 9,000 dollars worth of damage and had to switch apartments. (I later found out the next apartment she rented from Villas at Cave Creek also got flooded due to sprinklers being positioned to spray into her sliding door.) My dishwasher also leaked every time I would use it, which I have documents proving that I asked maintenance to fix the problem and they would come in and kick it and tell me nothing was wrong with it, though there was visible signs of leakage. The sprinklers flood the mail room so getting your mail is almost impossible sometimes. The pools are green most of the time. The people in the office are very rude. The only person who would cooperate was Jerry-Ann who sadly left for another job opportunity. Then the new management took over. THE NEW MANAGEMENT IS TERRIBLE. I have been dealing with them trying to get the flood damage repaired and all of the insurance bills due to their mistake installing the washer and they have actually called me stupid, I paid my last months rent a week ago and they tried to charge me again today. They are trying to charge me for the flood damage, and all of the damage that was previously in the apartment before we even moved in. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE WHATEVER YOU DO. They are scum. I only put 1 star because there is no option to not give them any stars. read more

If you Don't want cockroaches Don't move here! My apartment is infested with them. I didn't have any kind of bugs in my house. Motif made me pack up my entire apartment to have my apartment bombed and I still have them. Then they told me they were having the entire building bombed for cockroaches, I'm the only unit that was done. They rarely if EVER answer the phone, it usually goes to the answering service. They say they will have their boss contact you but he never does. There is Dog fesses EVERWHERE! I always clean up after my do, but idk why because no one else does! You have to pay a shared amount of water usage. They run the water All winter! Also my APS BILL the first month (June) I moved in was $338.00!! The 2nd month (July) was $348! For 1 person! I never turn my air below 79 degrees!! I have never lived in a more poorly ran complex than this one. The flooring in the kitchen is like contact paper. It scraped off. The only good thing about these apartments is the maintenance! They are at your apartment within 24 hrs.But there are TONS of Maintenance issues! There is NEVER HOT WATER. The Boiler is broken on a monthly on a monthly basis, so they have to shut the water off. They try to hide all these issues with free weekday breakfasts and granite countertops. Trust me it's not worth it. Oh and there are no Garbage disposals!!! Who in the year 2018 doesn't have Garbage disposals?? There are No Grills of BBQ Grills! Do Not Move Here!! The Price is Way Too High Priced for what you Get. read more

So I will start by saying the Motif Apartments are all right with me. I came to visit various times before I actually moved in. Anthony a long with the rest of the staff are amazing. Maintenance is great too. One maintenance worker helped with the couch when I moved in. I'm on the third floor. I had a few maintenance request put in they were all completed within the week. The free breakfast was a little shakey at first because they just lost the cook. The few times I was able to partake in the free breakfast it was good. Now since my work schedule changed I can't partake. I like it so far I've been here two months now and I can't complain about anything. I will say if you have alot of company parking is terrible. I would suggest maybe looking into the purchase of the so called park next door or the property behind the Motif for additional parking. Also you are close to everything you need retail wise. read more

This is the worst place ever! They can change their name but they are still a dump! No hot water for 4 days management keeps promising they will have the water working again and nothing. Seriously this place has become a joke. I have lived here going on three years and the past 7 months have been horrible here. New management takes over paints the apartments unmatching ridiculous colors to start. Recently they sent out an email about a situation that occurred the beginning of December to clarify that the incident ( a stabbing) did not originally occur on property come to find out was a total lie and that the two females who actually stabbed the man did live on property and we're running a prostitution ring out of their apartment. Question is why I send out an email to your residents if it's all a lie? Come to find out now there's a guy driving around the apartment complex asking for sexual favors, residents of the apartment complex going around asking people for money and constantly fighting in the parking lot, police here every night and a security guard that they do not even allow to be armed on property. The office staff just tells everyone what they want to hear. I don't know how they expect people to even feel safe here I cannot wait till my lease is up. this place is the definition of a joke. And I will clarify this now I'm not a mad resident writing this review just want to save people that are going to potentially move in here, save yourself!!! Spend a little bit more money on your rent trust me it's worth it read more

I am so happy at Motif. The staff were incredible and very flexible in working with me. They made me feel like this was my home. AND GUESS WHAT? Everything from top to bottom was brand new. From appliances to light fixtures. Modern and new and I love it. If that wasn't enough, the staff had me (especially Rudy) spin a wheel and I won a $100 gift card. If you have children they have the best games on the weekend. One I saw was a cupcake decorating contest and another is a sidewalk coloring contest. I do believe this is new management and the club house is being renovated so do be patient. I thank God and the wonderful staff that helped make this a painless move. Audrey read more

It's a shame you have to give at least 1 star because this place is not deserving. It isn't well maintained by any means but looking to start out it appears to be ok. I've not been here more than 6 months and have come home to see officers here numerous times for what I can only imagine sre drug deals and have also lived through numerous neighbor domestic disturbances. They are slow to act but when they finally do they do it fast and cheap. If you are unfortunate enough to live on the first floor the weekly landscapers who don't speak English will blow trash..rocks. dog crap...on your patio...mind you the landscape is gravel...not grass. I alerted the office of the problem and that fixed it for all of 2 weeks and then back to the nasty covered patio. This place is in what I now know a bad area...no security gate either. As for the other person talking about parking? If you plan on having a visitor you beat go stand in an open spot the day before you expect their arrival because morons here have a system in place to where they always have the visitor spots taken...not too mention they don't exercise caution when driving as my car has been hit while parked 2 times since I've moved in. Villas at Cave Creek...they use the name cave creek to hide from the fact these are shit apartments in the ghetto of North phoenix. ..nowhere near cave creek. My suggestion. ..stay away! read more

This apartment is real crap guys. Dont ever get deceived by what the front office guy says when they want to get you in. Their attitude is real crap when it comes to maintenance. They dont clean up the dog shit that I will have to see every day in front of my house every day. They dont want to clean it and I have complained to them so many times. When I was frustrated today and explain the situation today, the front office guy did not even ensure that the same will be cleaned up with immediate effect. This is the response that you will have You will have to live with the whole stink coming out of this pet friendly apartment, but human beings unfriendly. I am not getting a solution today, while I will have to wait for a couple of days till monday to get the shit cleaned up, they are just waiting for more dogs to shit and clean up all at once.
