We enjoy the Residence Inn brand hotels with the refrigerator, kitchen and cooktop so we can buy groceries, cases of water, snacks and save a little money on the trip. The hotel seemed to be in a good location, we had a car so it seemed easy to get around and explore Montreal and the surrounding area. We didn't use the housekeeping service but when we asked the staff for extra towels or toilet paper they were accomodating. They have a big parking lot. When we were there it was snowing heavy, but we were able to clean our cars off okay. I did try out their fitness center in the basement floor which was well stocked.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE WHEN IN MONTREAL…read more There were a lot of hotel options available in Montreal. I was super satisfied with my decision to stay here for the following: 1. Clean and updated rooms. The hotel was recently renovated. The room options available were a major selling point since we were traveling as a family with little people. 2. The complimentary breakfast hit the spot every day that we spent there. The waffle maker isn't out every morning but when it is the line will be long. Breakfast meat options were all pork. 3. Great location. It's located across the street from a huge mall. Some guests walked over. It's 10 minutes from airport and about 30 minutes from downtown. 4. Super friendly staff that were eager to help. I would definitely stay here again!

After making the reservation I called the front desk to ask about the parking situation and was told that there was a gated lot that we would be allowed to park in. When we arrived we were told to park in the alley behind the building. When i asked about the gated lot my question was ignored and I was rudely told "we don't have a theft problem" before she pulled out 2 wheel locks from behind the counter. We parked behind the building next to a long line of other vehicles that were there from the hotel and went on our trip. We did not hear from the hotel for the rest of the trip. When we returned we found the entire row of cars gone, ours included. No call from the hotel to let us know what had happened. The very nice front desk person told us that the spots we had been told to park in were not explicitly owned by the hotel and they were in a parking dispute with the neighbor who had had all of the vehicles towed. They put us on the hotel shuttle to where they said the vehicles were, which was a random side street, only to find our vehicles weren't there. After another 40 minutes we were told they had found one car, but had no record of the other. Luckily it was parked on the same street as the first, both with $200 tickets. The front desk employee told us that they would pay the tickets and to reach out to the manager for any other concerns, but kept going to the back, presumably to speak to the manager who would not come out to speak to us directly. When I did reach out to the manager, Jean, asking for confirmation that both tickets had been payed and for a refund for the cost of our stay, I received one email stating that they would be paying one of the tickets. When asked for confirmation that they had been payed, about the refund, or about the second ticket we were ignored, as were our multiple follow up emails. I don't usually write reviews, but this has been one of the most unpleasant travel experiences of my life.

While I understand that I incurred some risk and liability in parking my car long term, I also expected Econo Lodge Aerport in Montreal to abide by some duty of care in attending to my car in exchange for payment, which they absolutely did not. 1) the have no car checkout procedure - I went in and asked if I had to check out my car (before finding out what happened to it). They said no checkout is necessary. This means they don't even really care about periodically running an inventory of a lot---the whole purpose of providing your car's license plate # and information at check in is to sign a waiver and place liability solely in your hands. 2) I talked to a Mr. Singh who works at the lot. He said he reported what happened to my car around the 2nd of January to a manager named Toni. She did not act on his report or notify me of what happened immediately. Instead, I had to wait until I arrived on the early hours of the 7th to find out what happened. It also appeared that the receptionists were surprised to hear what happened when I found out, which again suggests very scant attention is paid to the actual lot. Meanwhile, new customers kept parking their cars around my vandalized car in a complete free for all environment. 3) complete lack of customer service after finding out the vandalism happened - when I told the receptionist about the theft, she just shrugged and pointed towards the phone to call 911. Since I was stranded there as I found out everything at 1 in the morning, I actually had to pressure to get a complimentary room for the night, and she said it was really management's discretion over the next few days to determine whether I'd actually get charged for the room. The receptionist also refused to give out the hotel owner's phone number, even during regular daylight hours when I was still stranded there the next day. The hotel didn't offer to help with any phone calls, providing a rental car to help me run errands required to replace my car's wheels (I had to have family drive up from the US instead). In short, this Econo Lodge is charging money for providing no more of a service than leaving your car for 2 weeks on any given street. At least I'd be clearly aware of the risks involved with parking on any given street and wouldn't have parked my car. Econo Lodge Aeroport, by charging for parking, and by participating Airportparkingreservations.com and parksleepfly.com programs, is misleading customers into thinking there's some semblance of parking security and management when it really is a free for all and the risks are too great to ever park your car.

It was cold with a few inches of snow and we had a snow blizzard on one of the days. However, the weather was beautiful because the sun came back right after. The hotel is adjacent to another Marriott hotel, the Residence Inn. It's funny that the two hotels are connected like a square box. So we walked to our room, the last Courtyard's room on the floor. We could keep walking if we wanted, but the next room was the Residence Inn. The only difference is the outside light for each Courtyard and the Residence Inn's room. If we keep walking past our room and use the other elevator, we will take the elevator down to the lobby of the Residence Inn. OK, enough with the floor plan. This architectural speech makes me sound so smart! Only sound, don't worry, I'm not smart. My parents thought I was smart once, then I don't know what happened LOL! The room was very nice and clean. The carpet looked old but clean. The room was fully equipped with a microwave, a small fridge, and a safe. The hotel has an indoor pool that accommodates guests from the Courtyard and the Residence Inn, but it's never crowded, and almost no one uses it. Also, we had a chance to use the sauna. Avi from the Front Office was nice enough to show us how to get to the swimming pool because it was hidden on the mezzanine floor. We dined at the hotel a few times because the food was great. They had a nice avocado and eggs, steaks, wings, etc. We enjoyed the night at the lobby and talked to the staff members when they were not busy. They're so lovely. The woman at the Front Desk was very sweet, Zayeda? The coffee maker at the lobby was tricky at first. Hubby and I tried to make coffee and saw that it kept charging, but no coffee. The night manager, Michael, explained that we don't have to worry because the charges would disappear if we didn't get coffee until we pressed the last button "make my coffee." There are a lot of steps, so you may think you finish after you pay, but no, keep going. He was right lol! Who invented this crazy machine ha! We need to talk! We had a great time staying here and will stay here again if we return to Montreal. The location is great and the price is affordable. Highly Recommended!

Modern Decor and newer hotel. Quiet floor and comfortable mattress so slept well. Spacious fitness room with a variety of cardio equipment and free/machine weights. Indoor pool was a good size and enjoyed the Dry Sauna. Surprisingly there was a conference on Saturday (on the 2nd floor). Breakfast is available and they had a self serve mini snacks area available. Suggestion for improvement would be turnaround to repair the elevator. One of them wasn't working for my entire stay which made for some waiting. Service was friendly and engaged. There is a Residence Inn next door and shares the parking garage. The famous Orange Julep is just a minute away. Would definitely stay again based on location and amenities.

However there are two things I want to point out: - In-room coffee is one of the greatest advances of civilization in my opinion. Who wants to leave a hotel room or early in the morning to satisfy a caffeine addiction? Yet time and again, you find that hotels provide a Keurig capsule machine, and only one capsule. Such was the case here, and even the friendly Dominican staff that I cornered was not able to supply any extra capsules. The front desk staff pointed me to the restaurant attached to the lobby - could they really be renting me a $250 room and going cheap on Keurig capsules to try and drive business to the restaurant? One hopes not. How absurd is it that I took 2 minutes to cross the street and buy a few capsules at the Ultramar gas station? Kind of absurd. - This is a completely smoking free hotel, which is also very civilised in my opinion. However, there are balconies at the end of each hall where smoking is apparently permitted. Definitely it is done, and it is a fact that the air intake for my room sucked up some of that smoke and deposited it inside my room, the stale smell of cigarettes and probably a little bit of their harmful chemical contents. Seems like a good idea to go 100% smoking free, 100% for real.
