However once we opened the door we were pleasantly surprise, especially with the patio. Sitting outside you have a view of the lake as well as a nice water feature and an old boat that seemed great for the kids to play on. The other table had a few kids with them and they were able to run around and play and it was enough space that it more than fine as a diner without kids. The menu is pretty simple. A lot of seafood, which is not my thing, but they had a Michigan salad so that is what I ordered. Hubs got the perch sandwich. We got the onion ring tower to start. Food was all really good. They have a lot of fry options which is pretty cool. The star of the meal? The spicy Bloody Mary. No lie, it might be the best I have ever had. I make the best Bloody Mary. I obsessed over it and I tolerate most when I am out but this one was impressive. So much so that I told our server to tell the bartender how good it was. We were here for a late lunch. I have no idea how this place is for dinner or as a bar hang out but I highly recommend lunch on the patio on a beautiful day. 5 stars all the way.

The building has been completely remodeled and is clean, bright and comfortable with great views of Lake Huron. I know that I thoroughly enjoyed my Bourbon Steak Sandwich. I plan to return and suggest that if you are passing thru the area you give it a chance. I don't think you'll be disappointed. We were moving or boat this weekend from Bay City to Lake Erie and we pulled into the marina to get fuel and unfortunately the fuel dock was closed for the day so we had to stay at the fuel dock over night . I had left a voicemail and she called back at just after 6 am the next morning and offered to bring us out coffee on her way out to fuel us . We received our fuel and our starboard engine would not fire . Lisa hoped into the marina van and ran us into town looking for starter flood ! We had 0 luck but i was able to purchase a small gas can and some fuel . Now mind you she took us to 2 gas stations and a Family Dollar ( Napa and the hardware were closed on Sunday) she even called her husband at home trying to get us some starting fluid ! After all that motor still would not start . Some how she found us a can of starting fluid ! Unfortunately the motor still didn't start . We made the decision to leave port on one motor and about an hour and half into the motor started and we were able to get into our slip safely that night ! They were all lovely. The host, Barb, was delightful. She was so welcoming and kind. The breakfast she prepared the next morning was absolutely delicious. Even though you cannot book directly through the website, it was easy to contact Barb via email and reserve our room. She was really responsive and accommodating. Tom and Connie were great hosts and more than willing to have a conversation and fill us in about the area. Also nice enough to let you be on your own. Cottage appears to be a converted garage but once you walk inside you will be pleasantly surprised. Main part of cabin has a bathroom with shower and toilet, a very nice raised kitchen with all the appliances you might be used to and a small dining area that sits right next to the bed in this room. Gas fireplace, sofa, book shelf and small closet are here also. This part of the cottage is a little too crowded especially if there are more than two of you. Off of the dining area is a very large addition that has two beds, a couple of chairs and a flat screen TV with satellite. This room is done nicely in white pine panel but could use some comfy chairs. There is also a washer and dryer in this room hidden in a closet.All of this sits on 30 or 40 acres of woods and manicured lawn. Tom told us that there was a creek and a tree house about a quarter mile back in the woods but that some one was renting the tree house back there so we did not go back. We did see a deer right outside our back room on Wednesday morning. You have the option of getting breakfast here and Tom and Connie delivered it to our room at 9 am. Nice touch. For the $95 we paid this was a deal. Would definitely consider coming back.
