Room had roaches and I was overpriced!! They moved me to a cleaner room but I paid for a 2 bed and got 1! When I asked for the extra $20 back they refused!!! Disgusting !!!

Jocelyn C.

Not bad at all!! It's actually quite decent for a Motel 6. For me, I actually never stay at Motel 6, but this was the cheapest, and available to stay at, in the area, knowing I was going to be out late at an event nearby. Definitely, a place to stay for only one night, not more than that. Everything that you need. Shower, sink, an area to hang your jacket/other clothes, a desk, tv. I was actually most impressed with the air conditioning. I really didn't think the room would have one. Lol The bathroom was really clean. The floors were even clean; no dirt on my feet. The sheets/pillows were clean. What more do you need for one night? I agree with everyone's reviews though, the beds are pretty hard. Anyway, I gave it 4 stars, because, like I said it's a decent place to stay at for one night. Also, because the vending machine was out of water, and wasn't sure if they check it periodically. It was definitely 80°+ during that time I was staying there. So, we ran to the nearest gas station to pick up some smart waters, to help for the night. Also, the parking lot really sucks. The only way you can get out of the motel, is going back the way you came from. It's really narrow too.

Rude, aggressive, security guard that doesn't know his job.
Aldo G.

If I could give it zero stars I would. There were lots of shady people hanging out in the parking lot when we pulled in around 12:30 AM. I rang the bell at the night window and the clerk took several minutes to respond, he was obviously sleeping. I checked in and received the key and went to our room. The room was filthy, smelled bad and there was no security latch on the door. I tried calling the front desk but there was no answer. So I went back up to the front and had the clerk change my room. We went to the new room and it was in the same condition filthy and no security latch. When we left the second room there was a security guard with an attitude that tried to block me using his SUV. I asked him to move and he refused. When I asked him for his name and identification number as per California law he refused. He then asked me if I was a guest and I told him we were. He still refused to move his SUV, but I was able to slowly go around him. He followed me back up to the front and started yelling at me to leave the property. I was trying to get a refund as he kept yelling at me and threatened to call the police. A security guard's job is to "observe and report", not to escalate the situation. As I was walking back to my car he pulled out his pepper spray and told me not to approach him. I informed him that I was going back to my car and if he peppered sprayed me, I'd have his job. He then took off his glued on cloth badge and literally threw it at me. I picked up the badge and threw it into the street. I never got closer than 20-25 feet. We then proceeded to drive off as it was late, and I was tired.

At least its clean.
Amber A.

I was expecting a loud, dirty room but neither was true. It was very clean. I'm a light sleeper and I did not wake up once throughout the night. My room was located on the bottom (104) where you would think all the noise would be but it was not the case. I slept quite well The only complaint I have is that the bed is s little uncomfortable (like hard beds) and the hot/cold water labels were switched.

I am kind of so-so with this place. The pros are : safe, pet friendly ( with small area for release;)), clean and super close to the Golden Gate Bridge . Negative : Hard to find parking if arriving late, renovated but they did a terrible job on that. Can tell that the mess is covered up, instead taking off the old mess first. Paid $160 for one nite and don't eve have shampoo in the rooms, only a tiny soap. I would stay here again, but also would do some research before booking the place.

He assisted me during checkout and made the entire process smooth and efficient. He was courteous, attentive, and handled everything quickly while ensuring all the details were correct. It's clear he takes pride in his work, and that level of care really stood out. One feature I really appreciated was the ability to skip the front desk at check-in and go straight to your room. That convenience makes travel much easier. Breakfast was another highlight, the omelet station was excellent. Fresh, made-to-order, and a great way to start the day. The only small caveat was that they ran out of English breakfast tea, and the cinnamon rolls were in short supply. Not a deal breaker, just something to note. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and the combination of great service, convenience, and strong breakfast experience made it an easy five stars. I would absolutely stay here again.

Check-in: Staying here for business for a couple of days. Anita at the front desk was…read moreprofessional and efficient with my check in process. I got a room up on the 5th floor which was quiet and looked out to the houses across the slough/waterway. Room: My room was so dark and sad. The light switch on the left side as you come in turns on the light over the table which didn't really help. This particular light I bumped my head on as I was standing next to the table organizing my gear. There was this over hanging floor lamp which did not help much either. The bathroom was bright. The toilet was so low to the floor, the sink did not have a stopper; I could smell the sink odors... No soap dish. No tub stopper either. The tub had mold in one corner, rust stains on the shower curtain rod, and the paint they used to refresh the tub was coming up... The carpet looked questionable... BTW- there were only four (4) hangars in the closet...?! I was hanging things on a chair. Also, one towel hook. The door to the bedroom looked like there may have been a break-in, or something...? The room looked tired.... The seating areas are so dark.... It kind of felt a little depressing in my room.... Happy Hour: The happy hour was good, very lively; I think due to the groups in town for meetings. Aziz was a terrific bartender! We had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken which we split 3-ways; it was ok in a pinch. The following day we had the tater tots which apparently is Embassy Suite's spin on tater tots was not good. No reason to re-create the tater tots wheel... Put your spin on the original tater tots with dipping sauces, etc. Charging $10 and $12 per taco is seriouslyd excessive (BTW).... Your tacos do not warrant that fee!! If your restaurant ruined tater tots; there is no faith in the tacos.... Restaurant/Breakfast: The breakfast was ok.... My omelette was runny on the first day, so I did not return the second. I just had oatmeal and fruit. The pre-prepared food room was lacking proper utensils for serving, and no spoons for use...! My team and I took care of our dishes and put them on the hand trolley; Wednesday and Thursday mornings....! The hand trolley was always there but never any staff clearing tables, etc. In Walnut Creek there is always multiple staff moving around clearing tables, being helpful, etc. Common Areas: If you are not on your phone in the common seating areas.... it's a bit depressing.... Leaking atrium ceiling. The restaurant seating area against the wall where there was actual light; the bench covers were worn through. This is something management should have repaired immediately; especially since the entire bench is completely worn out...! Quite the eye sore... Observations: During my stay, this Embassy Suites was consistently busy and being in Marin County a preferred location. Although, staff indicate they just renovated in 2020; leadership/management clearly overlooked what clients would want/prefer in a room. 90% of the hotel appeared to be in the dark...! Why? Also, line staff would benefit from training. On my last day (Thursday), there was a leak from the atrium ceiling.... Accolades: Moving forward, Anita was very helpful and professional during check-in. Lee and Sedir were very professional in the process of checking out etc. The front lobby (only) was bright and welcoming. Ample parking available.

Hotel confirmed they'd honor third party reservation. First pros: When we finally found lobby, we were greeted by a feeling of elevated comfort, & elegance w/ the black-coated front desk staff, earth of faux fire place, leather couches, & fancy chairs. Around the corner are the lowered lights of a bar & grill w/ lovely accents of polished wood throughout. Large glass windows surround a beautiful blue outdoor pool with hot tub in garden setting. In lobby, 2 options of chilled filtered water, 1 plane and 1 infused w/ fresh melon, a nice touch to give good 1st impressions. They said it's ok to invite hubby and son to join my daughter & grandkids & I to enjoy jacuzzi, even though they weren't staying; seemed generous, + towels provided. Open till 10pm. There were nicely scented toiletries in bathroom & MAX, HBO, YOUTUBE, and other streaming services, free w/ your stay. MANY CONS: Our room had ugly window view to parking lot; we asked if we could change to double queen pool view, they said no, hotel only has single King rooms w/ pool view and any others were booked. Ok, we did Book last minute. Next day, Service Tech said there had been plenty rooms avail. w/ double queen, pool view, but 3d floor + our room would soon be renovated, and why it was sub par. Why the lie? Jacuzzi: We visited the area earlier in eve, 6:40 pm when it looked lovely and aglow with gas fire pits & other outdoor ambient lighting... sadly, spa not hot, and just one jet working when i kept pushing button to start them? Service tech said they only come on w/ sensor w/ more folks in tub (whaaat?) he said, jets won't come on at night because of chemicals they add to hot tub (whaaat?). I hoped by AM, spa'd be hot so we could enjoy our AM coffee & take a dip! By AM it was so cold by pool we did not want risk of experience night before w/ cold spa, so resorted to regular tub soak in room. Sadly, tub plug broken and won't fill! Settled for shower :( No working bathroom fan! Not good for steamy mirror nor other smelly reasons fan is needed in there. Room window made of thin single pane glass that if child or anyone fell into, it'd easily break and we'd fall to cement, 3 floors down; no screen on window that opened 3 inches. Also large chips out of paint on window wall, size of apple. Heater tricky to get fan low, less noisy, & temp right. It loudly blew cold air and had to be turned off. No working USB charger ports, only 1 defunct port & service tech said it was disabled in anticipation of remodel, & also why furniture was old, and my mattress felt like a heavy person slept in it creating very bad dip; mattress needs changing! Fridge freezer, though coated in ice, not cold enough for ice cream. Ours went from frozen at store to melted beyond eatability, w/ in 2 hrs. While hubby awaited our return from shopping he tried to get beer at bar, but found it closing by 9:pm. Instead of letting him know he'd closed out his cash register & that my hubby could get beer to take to room from front desk, bartender rudely said, "i just closed, sorry!" instead of suggesting beer at front desk. We did not realize was possible till too late. Before checkout we waited over an hour for service tech to come look @ bathtub; we called 3 times over that hour & each time, told they were sending someone. When tech finally showed up he explained all about up coming remodel. Why the sub par room? Punishment for using 3d party? With each issue w/ room, we tried calling front desk for help. 1st time, when we asked for more bath towels, no one'd answer, only machine says staff is w/ other clients, even @ 2:00am when i wanted heat but couldn't get cold air to stop blowing. No one ever answered @ that hour. I gave up & just got extra blanket from closet (there was only one!). I thought, they're sick of hearing from room 309. When checking down stairs, staff were not visibly busy..... usually 2 agents working, just typing on their computers & no guest in front of them. Service tech said, trouble with phones was part of future renovation issue. When we'd finally reached staff over phone to ask for 2 more bath towels (since we're 4 and there were only 2 towels), they brought 2 tiny floor mat towels! We had to physically go ask for bath towels! Con: My granddaughter held bed quilt up to light of window and horrible stained filth showed through; see pic's. They tried to offer minimal points toward discounted stay only to be used on hotel site, where dilapidated hotel costs more money. Not worth it we'd do better at home. Not recommended.

Mini fridge had a glacier of ice buildup on the freezer, indicating high room humidity. Bathroom sliding glass door closes on its own, cutting off ventilation after taking a shower. Toilet seat was loose so it slid around. Our fire alarm went off at night because we had zero air circulation in a stuffy humid air chamber, which led to staff asking us to vacate under the assumption we had been smoking in the unit which we had not. We had to ask them to call the manager who ordered them to tell us to vacate and had to explain the problems with the unit that caused the false alarm. Parking lot is tiny, and the ticketing/gate system doesn't work oftentimes, leading people to have to back out into traffic to get out of the lot. The desk staff seems really nice and it's a shame, because we got the impression that the management is not so nice and mismanages the property by not giving their staff the resources they need to maintain the units or handle issues with the furnishings. There's lots of reviews of things being broken in various rooms and ours had a similar experience. It looks nice, but doesn't get maintained well, and management is quick to jump on you which results in an incredibly inhospitable and hostile atmosphere. I imagine working here is also not pleasant and I can pick up on the vibes that the staff are stressed.

A continental breakfast buffet was included, and it was surprisingly good for a free hotel breakfast. It included pancakes, breakfast sausage, eggs, breads and pastries, cereal, fruit, and a few other items. When I checked in I was assigned a room that unfortunately smelled like cigarette, I immediately went down to the desk and they were able to switch me into another room that didn't. Nothing about food, TV service, location of ice makers, etc. Incidentally with three floors they only had ice makers on the first floor The one lounge chair was wedged in between the bed and the patio door, but if you wanted to have your coffee there in the morning, no where to put down your cup.
