And while they were in a meeting which I gladly waited in the laundry for an hour. The repos de from both these so called upper management were unwelcome comments to about me . The front desk staff was friendly and so nice. Helped me get a room for one night and honestly I didn't want to drive up north and I was so tired. It was the best stay ever. The room was cozy and the bed was comfy. It was close to Safeway and the gas station and other places to eat and enjoy. I highly recommended this place. read more

I've stayed here many times and it looks like Yelp removed my review so here is another one. Great location north of San Francisco that is near Napa and Sonoma wine country. They have the small bistro restaurant and a gym with a pool. Good choice for a hotel stay the staff are always welcoming and friendly. The hotel had a nice and welcoming lobby to convene with friends. The room comfortable beds, ample amount of pillows, hot shower water, and working AC. We had a hotel block, but not all the rooms were booked near each other. It would have been nice to have conjoining rooms since we had so many staying there for the wedding festivities. read more

Stayed for one night. Room was as expected for the price. Bed and pillows were surprisingly comfy. Zero parking left when we returned to hotel at 11pm, that was disappointing. Hotel provided a lower rate for families who had family members who were patients at Sutter Health Hospital. It was much needed and greatly appreciated. The rooms were very clean and large. This is such a convenient location for a hotel. I took the Marin Bus from SFO and the last stop is crossed the street. I was able to check in early. I had let them know of my early arrival, plus I received a room on the floor I prefer. The breakfast and dinner bar is so convenient but for others the selling point was McDonalds next door and Safeway behind us. Lots of other food choices around without needing a car. The room is comfortable and cleaned every other day. I wish they provided lotion in the rooms. Otherwise, I'll happily say here again. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. THEY WILL CHEAT YOU AND BE GLAD TO DO IT! I stayed here with my husband for a few nights while the house in Marin was being prepared. If you've ever endured the gridlock traffic between SF and Marin you would see the advantage of just staying in a room in Marin. After each vendor completed their job, we had to go to the house to inspect the work and pay for their service. That was a LOT of back and forth so I was glad we had a room to avoid the terror of traffic on the bridge. When the work was completely finished, a little after 8 PM, we decided to check out, I was told I missed check out by 12 minutes or something like that so I incurred another entire nights stay charge. Ok. I get my member points and nights stay right? No. What? The manager comes out and smugly tells me those are the rules so it is basically too bad. I owe therefore I must pay and asking about the membership accounting perks of paying (points and nights stay serve two vital functions, I was being denied nights stay for a night I was being asked to pay) was out of her control. What? So I should have just left the hotel without formally checking out to receive the full nights stays and points? This doesn't make sense. The staff are rude, the food is not great, the "Starbucks" isn't real. You have to wait forever for the same person who works the bar and restaurant to make your coffee and it is not going to be great. If they demand I pay for another nights stay because I exceeded check out by 12 mins, they have the reciprocal responsibility to give me points AND the nights stay I paid for. The bs I was told felt arbitrary. nonsensical, and really rude. I bet if I were a loud white male traveler staying here on my employers dime they would have given me what I paid for. We've watched this scenario happen all day every day at check in/check out. No. Never ever stay here. The Marriott is declining in service. I shouldn't have to pay for it with my hard earned money. I resent horrible management. They train horrible staff which ends in a horrible experience. One well deserved star for cheating me and a textbook terrible manager who is obnoxiously unprofessional and rude (code) It was bad. My husband was horrified to have witnessed it firsthand. Picked this hotel for its proximity to the Sonoma Speedway. From 101 north the frontage road is not well marked. After that, it was easy to find placed just south of the Safeway grocery store. It still amazes me how small the check in area is for the last two Courtyards I have stayed in. This property was very nice. Opposite the check in is a small Bistro with limited breakfast and a limited Starbucks. It also serves a light dinner and cocktails. Out back a small pool with four different sitting areas. One has a gas grill- ask the front desk and they will help you use it to fix your own dinner. The room clean, spacious and fairly quiet. Except 6am the trash is picked up on the backside. The vanity is separate from the shower/ toilet area. The shampoo and soaps were Paul Mitchell. Parking lot was big. Several restaurants in the area that are easy to walk to. read more

We checked in for a one-night sleepaway with our 4-year-old grandson. The Courtyard had an unprecedented issue with the room key system, even on the phone app, so the super supportive staff escorted every guest to open their rooms. Vicky went above and beyond, helping with pool access (which also requires a room key), warmer towels (the pool was warm but the wind was not!), extra pillows etc. The room was clean and quiet. I used to stay here on business and they've really kept up the property. 4 stars because like so many hotel chains, they have started to charge for parking - although the staff waived our fee this time. read more

Stayed at this Courtyard Marriott over the New Year's weekend. The rooms were very nice and the check in process was very easy. I was slightly disappointed to find out that their restaurant was closed on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day for dinner, and only open for breakfast on those days. The breakfast menu was pretty limited. They were a serving a few breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, avocado toast, and some yogurt/parfaits. They also have a small Starbucks menu, which is a plus. For breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast, which was very good. The bed in the rooms were really comfy and I really enjoyed all the Paul Mitchell shampoos and soaps that they had in the shower. A few of the rooms had balconies with a few chairs outside to relax on and enjoy some coffee in the morning. We were lucky enough to score one of the rooms with a balcony. The parking lot was big and well lit at night. The hotel is right next door to a McDonalds and a Safeway, as well as a few restaurants within a mile or so driving distance from the hotel. The staff is 5-Star. I was impressed by the genuine charm and care the staff displayed. The innovative manager devised a key organization system using a binder that expedited the check-in process. The room had a very cool, upscale vibe. It was well decorated with 4 unique lamps, large flat screen, King-size bed, one bedside table, credenza, chair, desk with pull-out, and a half-circle sofa which pulled out to create an additional bed. The large room still left plenty of room to move around. Upscale doors on the closet allowed us a place to store luggage out of sight, which added to the tranquility of the room. Huge powder room with just a toilet and bathtub shower combo. Sink/vanity area was adjacent to the powder room. Due to power outages that were outside of the property's control, there was not power to the entire building, including elevators. Prices were not adjusted. No parking in large lot, so I park at the McDonalds just outside the parking lot. I have not seen a busier McDonalds than I did when I returned to my car in the morning. Wow, Novato McDonalds! Very impressive. The arrangement of the rooms is such that no bed touches any neighboring room's connecting wall. Courtyard Marriott, you are all Geniuses! I was looking forward to the best sleep of my week. Maybe due to the power outage and having limited entertainment options, the gents next door had a very romantic, very LOUD evening. All evening. All night. All morning. I went downstairs around midnight, and returned to the room about 3am. Still loud romance. I took a shower and started my day. read more

Pros: - The hotel is conveniently off the freeway - 24 hr fitness center - Free wi if - Free parking - Modern lobby lounge area with tvs and computers - Pool and patio - Washers/dryers - Onsite restaurant and Starbucks - Walking distance to shopping center with Safeway ( with a Starbucks inside), McDonald's, Peet's coffee, Nektar juice, Toast restaurant, and Super Duper burgers. Literally right next door. Things to Note: - Mini frig temp does not get cold enough to store dairy products - There are train tracks next to the hotel. The Mister did mention he could hear a train or two rumble by each night. I didn't hear it, but I'm a heavy sleeper. - No free breakfast But all the things to note were not deal breakers. read more

I stay at this courtyard for about 1 week every year for the last several years. Place is always clean and the staff is friendly. This is located next to a Safeway and its gas station which can be convenient. There is also a McDonald's next it if that is your thing. If you are looking for a view or ambiance you won't find it here, but if you are looking for a conveniently located Marriott property that is clean, has friendly staff you should be happy staying here. read more

We were supposed to stay at another hotel in Marin but they had water damage, sending us to this hotel. Couldn't ask for a better welcome by Penny. Great customer service, even walking us to the elevator and directing us to our room. Room was beautiful and clean. Great bed and linens. Nice work out room and pool. Lobby has a nice cafe with food, seemed to always be open. Hotel is next door to a Safeway and a McDonald's. Definitely will stay here again. read more

This past weekend my family booked the majority of the rooms for a wedding... I have stayed at hundreds of Marriotts and this was the BEST STAFF EVER!!! Friday 5/21/2021 Checked in @6pm Once we checked in, the bridesmaids got to use one of the empty office spaces to fix our bouquets & last minute things for the wedding the next day. They even let us store our flowers in their walk in fridge. THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN MICHAEL, I believe there were 2 other staff members, even the girls at the bar were SUPER AWESOME! Saturday 5/22/2021 after wedding festivities...10pm-3AM I didn't get the young lady's name she was so sweet & so was poor Aaron...he was called & then cursed out by a stinky short white barefoot woman that came to the front desk yelling at him & called him a "N***ER"... He responded with such grace and no hate towards that woman. She was so lucky she didn't get beat tf up. Aaron handled the situation so well it made us all calm down. Sunday 5/23/2021 right before check-out (12pm) everything was great...UNTIL my brother parked in the front of the hotel with his music too loud as a lot of our family members are saying their goodbye's...this one is probably thee oldest staff member there...she needs more training on how to speak respectfully to others...she literally came out of the front doors screaming, "TURN IT DOWN TURN IT DOWN TURN IT DOWN!!!", like ma'am you didn't even have to do all that...she could've just politely said it. She is also lucky she didn't get accidentally tripped & broke her neck with how angry and aggressive she was towards my family. It could be menopause...so yea... The room was not safe & sanitary. In normal times, that would be unacceptable but during COVID-19, this is beyond unacceptable. 1. The coffee mugs tasted like glass cleaner which is not safe or sanitary. If this is a operational practice to not wash glass wear, this needs to change ASAP with new standards on washing &/or providing single use cups. Guests should not be ingesting cleaning supplies. 2. The blow dryer was filthy from previous guest makeup. This is not only unacceptable from a visual standards level but also shows that the blow dryers are not sanitized. I travel often for work and am a Hilton Honors member. I choose to use Hilton hotels for the experience they provide when I travel. In limited cases, I have used Marriott for work and decided to use my points for this stay. I was warned by a travel agent that Marriott was not clean during their recent stay with their family. While this was concerning, especially during COVID-19, I imagined it was his specific experience. I now can confirm it is from an operational process versus a one off bad service. Sanitation & safety is important during any guest operation procedure but in a pandemic, needs to be prioritized. I will be sharing this information with peers that travel. My room was comfortable with the exception of a whining noise from the refrigerator. I had to shut it off so I can sleep. The breakfast bowl from the restaurant had uncooked rice and quinoa. The kid who took the order was cocky and unfriendly. He didn't give me and other guests a number so the man who brought the food out didn't know where to go. When I asked him about getting a number he said yeah yeah you will get a number. Never did and the man who brought out my food wasn't sure where to go. I finally said I think that is my order. The man who brought out my order was friendly and accommodating. I've stayed here before. Service was better. Don't think I'll be back. read more

I must admit - I was pleasantly surprised by The Bistro, the Courtyard by Marriott's in-house restaurant & bar. I came here recently for a quick biz meeting. To be perfectly honest, I had no idea this hotel even had a restaurant/bar in their lobby. It ain't anything fancy, but there's plenty of comfy seating in their lounge area, and the menu has a pretty impressive cocktail and small bite selection. I sipped on a Black Cherry Old-Fashioned (made with Maker's Mark), and it was nicely balanced and refreshing, and it was only 10 bucks. The food menu looked very appealing (and very Marin-influenced). Guests can order anything from a Cobb Salad to Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Soup to Chicken Pot Pies. And everything was so reasonably priced. Since there was only one bartender, service was a tad slow. And it looked like he was also the one assembling the food. Poor guy. All in all, this place was an ideal spot for a quick meeting. There's plenty of parking in the lot outside. And it's conveniently located off the 101, right next to a shopping center and plenty of other restaurants (Toast, Super Duper Burger, etc.). read more

First I want to say that the beautiful, young, tall drink of water who reminds me of Gary Cooper & opened up the "Starbucks Mini" in the lobby this morning (Saturday, Oct 26) needs more support! Their pricing method on drinks in the bar needs to be fixed. They charge per ingredient. So, a Cadillac Margarita (tequila and Gran Marnier) is $21.50 plus taxes. A Long Island ice tea is $75. There apparently is no flexibility for the bartender or night supervisor to exercise judgement. They should, however, warn you of the extreme prices. I paid much less for the same drink at the Marriott Marquis' View Lounge in San Francisco. The rooms are nice. Pretty standard for Marriott. read more

Oh my goodness could this hotel be any worse? After a recent terrible experience at another Marriott that I was hoping was just a one-off, my experience here definitely shows how much Marriott has gone downhill. To begin with, I called to try to make a block reservation for my wedding here. Besides charging a ridiculous fee (Best Western charged me nothing), the group booking contact was beyond rude acting like their hotel is in such high demand and I would be lucky to have the privelage of getting rooms there. To top it off, she was straight unresponsive for weeks on email and voice mail until I called and asked for a different person to talk to, then she finally got back in touch. Just terrible. I did not end up booking my block there. I had a few of my wedding guests stay at this hotel, since the best western ended up booking up and they booked late (what happened to this hotel being in such high demand, Ms. group booking?). I called the front desk to ask about dropping off welcome bags for those folks to see if they could distribute and they said no problem (it was literally two bags for one room). When I get to the hotel to drop them off, their whole parking lot was closed off so I had to park in a lot far away and walk over. There was dog poop right in front of the lobby doors. Excellent appearance, said no one ever. So I drop off the two bags, give him the name, he looks it up, makes a note, and confirms he will give the bags to them. Fast forward two days and I ask the guests how they liked the welcome bags. They say "what are you talking about?" They didn't get them. *facepalm* I dropped welcome bags to three other hotels in the area and Marriott was the only one that messed it up. Save yourself the trouble and book/stay anywhere else but here! read more

I love the hotel but the bistro doesn't match the hotel. The salad dressing was just oil and no flavor. Burger was so DRY that ketchup wouldn't help. Everything needed salt. Service is nice and I like the fitness center. Again I love staying there but eat elsewhere. read more

Disappointed that they only offer breakfast for 1. Upon checking in, we waited for about 5 minutes as no one was at the counter. They have cameras to see if anyone is waiting. I was calling out asking if anyone one was there only to find out that I was apparently interrupting a staff member on a call and she could be bothered to help us check in. They apparently had a schedule "alarm" test at 11 am that the front desk didn't bother to tell us about. Someone had taken parts of the coffee machine inside our room - so no morning coffee. There was a rambling noise from the air conditioner all night long. I have elite status with Marriott and will never stay there again. read more

Our business team spent a few nights at this Marriott Courtyard hotel while visiting a client in Novato, CA. Novato is north on Hwy 101 from downtown San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge into Marin County, and then winding through the mountain passes till you get to this picturesque little town. The Courtyard sits right off of the highway, and adjacent to a shopping center filled with a Safeway grocery store, a number of restaurants, and a coffee / tea place. The weather was spectacular, so we left the car in the hotel parking lot (free parking, by the way) and just walked over to the shopping plaza. As with all Marriott Courtyard's, predictability is the key to their success. You know that you'll be staying in a clean and spacious room with a super comfy bed, lots of electrical outlets to charge your various electronic devices, a big, flat-screen TV, plenty of workspace, and a lot of towels and high-end toiletries. Downstairs you have the standard Marriott workout center with a Bistro area, small gift & snacks shop, and a business area with free use of their printers. When you're traveling on business this is a fabulous feature, as you can dump your reports onto a thumb drive, and then take them down to the lobby to print, for free! My room was great, and the front desk staff was extremely pleasant and helpful when we asked for some dinner suggestions. read more

This...is a great hotel! Sooo conveniently located right off the 101 in Novato, with FREE parking (becoming a rarity, for sure) and FREE wi-fi (gotta have it!). Plus, this hotel is located near to a Safeway and their cheaper-gas gas station, and TONS of food options (you can read my review of Toast...yum!). Hubby is a Marriott Rewards Elite member (I'm the Gold Hilton Honors one), so he got a great deal on the room. We were warmly greeted by some very nice staff once we walked into this VERY nice hotel lobby (very new and modern looking...cool!). We got a room on the top (4th) floor, which was great because I HATE being stuck under the Riverdance cast in the room above me. The room itself was roomy and clean and comfy. I LOVED the Paul Mitchell hair and body products!! The air conditioner was a bit loud, but that was okay because it drowned out the snoring of one of us in our party ;) I would HAPPILY stay at this Courtyard again next time we're hitting up the Sonoma Coast, or even Sears Point/Infineon/Sonoma Raceway for the NASCAR event in June. With everything that this hotel offers, as far as what we like and expect, this location is at the top of our list, and will be seeing us as return customers when we venture out to the Sonoma coast. :) read more

We stayed here the Friday-Saturday after Thanksgiving because we were attending a bapistim/party in Petaluma on Saturday morning so we wanted to forgo the long drive. Anywho, we checked in Friday afternoon and it was quick and painless. The hotel was pretty dead so no wait and no problems parking in their parking lot. The little boo boo wanted to use the pool so I went to the pool with him.. one problem - it was outdoors so it was a bit cold, the water was warm but still. Not far away is a pretty decent size hot tub that is indoors so I got him to go in there instead. The water wasn't too hot - actually it was like bath temp, so it was perfect. He really enjoyed himself with the pool and hot tub. I wanted to use there gym (1 treadmill, 2 ellipticals and some free weights mind you) and since it was empty I had him with me sitting on the floor watching TV, since they have like a 32" TV on the wall. The rooms were a tad small, since I requested a king bed with a pull out sofa.. well it was all crammed in like a 400 sq ft room but it did the job so it's fine. The standard TV and desk. The bathroom was a bit roomy and the closet and sink faced eachother.. come to think of it, the room set up was a bit weird but it worked out fine. They had a bistro down stairs in the lobby which served all meals and reasonable price for a hotel I guess. My little boo boo ordered cereal meal - which came with milk and a banana for $5.00. Anyhow, my son loved this experience soo much he told use we wants to live in a hotel and not at our house.. go figure! FYI.. the hotel is right next to a McDonalds and behind it is a Safeway so we actually had some salad from Safeway for dinner, since we had a heavy lunch at Napa Burger in Sausalito. If nothing at the Bistro calls ya then just a walk away are other options.. read more

It would have gotten five stars but there were some cleaning mishaps: 1. a used condom under the bed!! 2. some pubic hairs in corners of the bathroom Upon further inspection the bed sheets were clean and everything else was fine... For me I didn't complain because they were things we could toss in the trash can/ push towels in the corner so we didn't have to see them... This place is conveniently located near gas, fast food and a plaza with tons of places to eat/ get coffee etc. The customer service (minus the cleaning) was stellar. I would stay here again read more
