Room was clean, beds comfy, and there was plenty of parking. Pool closed for the season. Room had no remote or extra pillows/towels available as hotel full of people. Location was convenient to town and fairgrounds. Parking lot very well lit at night; felt safe. Quiet too. Keys did not work; cards would not open door. Had to get help four times from desk, even later at night (called desk from cell phone--luckily we had it on us), for help. Door mechanism for 117 probably on its last legs. Overall--okay stay but could have gone a lot more smoothly. Didn't have shampoo in bathroom--just a bar of soap. Bring your own! read more

Guys hang outside all night and right outside their door looking at u so they know which room your in and the room was still dirty with food in the fridge and hair under the bed. The Motel 6 in Douglas, Arizona is great if: -- You enjoy walking in to a room that reeks of stale cigarette smell, even though the sign on the door proclaims "No Smoking." -- You enjoy the scent of the Little Trees "Black Ice" car air freshner that they had shoved into the air intake grate in a failed attempt to mask the aforementioned cigarette smell. -- You don't mind being two doors down from one of two prisons in the area. -- You think a room full of flies is fun; especially when they dive bomb you in your sleep. -- You are not easily deterred by sketchy guests that linger in their doors. Sooo, it's a $50 hotel in a border town. If you go in with that expectation it is fine. Clean enough and relatively quiet. What I did like is that the parking lot was lit up brighter than day time at night so I felt a little safer. What I didn't was no shampoo or coffee pot in the room. But there is a 24 hour store right next door and they had good coffee. At the end of the day it is what it is. I'd stay here again to save $100. As long as my wife wasn't with me. Last thing I will say, the guy who checked me in was very flat. Wasn't rude, but wasn't friendly AT ALL. Seemed a little annoyed I was taking him from whatever he was doing before. It was okay. Booked the room because it was one of the cheapest options in town, and to be honest for a one night stay I really did not need much -- really wanted a nice bed to plop down in. When I arrived the front desk staff member was lovely and she told me they had my room ready (which was really nice since I was half an hour earlier than their check-in time and I was afraid I would need to wait awhile). As I was checking in the front desk staff said that the room was recently being renovated and that, due to this, some of the furniture in the room wasn't there. The furniture she was talking about was the typical dresser that sits under the television. She told me this was the room I could have though (hinting that perhaps there were no other empty rooms in the motel, or that all the others were being renovated -- which I did see lots of rooms with open curtains and all kinds of renovation stuff inside, so that story could check out although the motel definitely wasn't full up). I said I'd still take the room. Without the dresser I couldn't set anything on top of it. This means all of my bags, purse, etc., just had to go on the floor. It would have been nice to have something to set things on but it wasn't the end of the world. The little chair was supposed to have a little table I believe but no table. Again, everything just had to get set on the floor and that was a bit annoying. What I was a little upset about was that there was absolutely NO discount given for the inconvenience of having missing furniture in the room. I know that Motel 6 is a budget motel, but if I'm reserving a room that is supposed to have furniture in it and then some of that furniture is missing... I think that is worth a small discount. I guarantee if I went to the Best Western down the road they wouldn't say "Here's the room, all of the furniture is missing" and if for some reason they did, I guarantee there would be a fee adjustment. Overall, it was just a sloppy way to take care of the situation. I paid their full price for a room that wasn't finished. That was upsetting and put a bad taste in my mouth for the motel. Could have easily been remedied or made me feel a bit more appreciated as a customer if they said "So sorry for this inconvenience, we're going to knock a few dollars off your bill." They just seemed to think it was fine to give me a partially renovated room at full price. read more

Gentleman is real nice, gives me a Room adjacent to the rental office & right in front on 16th St. Not only does Traffic Flow All night on 16th St, The Office Door next to my Room is the Main access to the Office, Each Time They Open this Door, it Slams Shut, Right Outside My Bed!!!! This place is scary. Lock your doors. We were just passing through Douglas and needed a place to stay overnight. The parking lot had creepy looking people hanging out. Our room didn't even had a working air conditioner and it was a hot day in Douglas. At check-in, the clerk could not find my prepaid reservation and so I had to pay and had to resolve and get a refund from Expedia for my prepaid room booked online. My advise, it's only about 45 mins to Sierra Vista and about 30 mins to Bisbee. Stay there instead. In Douglas,you only 2 hotels to choose from. read more

There is so much wrong with this motel, I don't know where to start. The front desk person had her mask around her chin. I had to move rooms THREE TIMES because one smelled like smoke (bad with too much icky air freshener on top), and two others didn't have heat. The front desk woman barged into my room, this time no mask at all to be seen, breathed in my little room and said, "Well some rooms have heat and some don't. We don't really know which ones." I am not making this up. No coffee maker due to Covid they said (?). No hair dryer. Never seen a motel without a hair dryer. They treated all of this like it was every day normal. Room smelled musty, the TV was from 1994 or earlier, with a fuzzy picture. Bathroom toilet seat was also probably from 1994. I've never been to a Motel 6 that was like this one. This two star is purely based on false advertising. In the expedia blurb, which I presume was written by the hotel, they include a list of items before quoting the price. The list included the queen bed, internet, entertainment, etc. However, when we arrived we were charged $5 for their "high speed" internet which is 5 mb/sec when I measure the rate. Simply put: a business should not advertise a service that is not free without mentioning that the service must be paid for. The clear implication was that the internet service was part of the price quoted at the bottom of the blurb. Two stars for this long nosed approach to advertising. Shame on Motel 6. read more

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Douglas, AZ for a few days last month. I found it to very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Mary, the manager, went out of her way to see to my comfort, even bringing a extra blanket when I mentioned the room was a bit chilly. I am handicapped and stayed in a very nicely appointed handicap room which had been recently remodeled, the facilities were modern, well placed and useful. Much more than I expected of a budget motel, and far superior to the Quality Inn of Sierra Vista where I stayed the previous 3 nights. We stayed here on July 17th. We were attending a funeral, so the mood was not all that great. The first issue was that the room my sister paid for stunk so bad, we went up to the front office and had them switch her out of that room. That was the least of our worries... No matter what kind of motel it is, me and my wife always check for bed bugs, because that is an issue that we dealt with many years ago, and don't want to deal with again. We were awaken at about 2 in the morning by some very bad BED BUG bites!!! Me, my wife and two daughters were bit! We wound finding about eight of them things. I went back to the office and the girl working up there was so upset by this, she made a note and put us in a different room, but obviously, we were hoping this wouldn't happen again. We didn't get bit in this second room, Thank God! I spoke to the manager in the morning and she was writing up an incident report and sending it to corporate. They also said that they would have Terminex come and "verify" that there was an issue, to which I showed her the bite I had. I had also given the overnight girl the toilet paper with the dead bugs and blood. A week later and we haven't heard from anyone at all. The manager never offered us anything, just saying that someone would contact me. Keep in mind that we had issues with two rooms. Stinky room was 121, bed bug room was 122. read more

I have tried to stay here on a number of occasions. Each time it seems it gets worse. The staff at one point was nice and helpful but not anymore. Mary the manager is a nice lady but of course not there all the time and there is no way she can do every job. One particular experience I had here I had gotten there checked in and just wanted to get some rest I turn the sheets back on the bed only to find a huge urging stain in the middle of the bed. I then got dressed headed up the front notified the clerk what I found. He was anything but nice refused to refund my money. He gave me a new room and informed me I BETTER return the key to the office to the urine stained bed. I then went to bed as I laid there I felt like I was being bitten all night. I notified cooperate of this issues and then responded to me with an email stating that their hotel didn't have an insect problem. I gave the hotel another try a few months later when I was in town again. Hoping that I would get a decent room. I had made reservations online 6 weeks in advance. I didn't want to take the chance the reservation get messed up because I was traveling with my children. I called a few days before arriving to verify and confirm I could get adjoining rooms. I was told no problem and they looked forward to my visit. Upon checking in she was making my keys and I began to pay for my room and I noticed the amount was way less so I said to the girl I am getting 2 room for 2 nights correct? She said no you only have a reservation for one room Mam. I said no I need 2 adjoining rooms. She proceeded to tell me that she had no adjoining rooms left. The best she could do was two rooms away from each other. I was so dis appointed but I went ahead and rented the rooms. I didn't sleep well either night I was so concerned about being separated. The rooms again were both dirty and run down huge stains in the carpet hair in the shower it was gross. I unfortunately left a very expensive therapeutic pillow at the hotel. I called and asked if they had found one? I was told yes they had found my pillow. I asked if they would please be willing to send it to me? They told me they would mail cords or chargers but not my pillow. I offered to pay for the shipping, she said she didn't think it would be possible. I then offered to send them a box and money to ship the pillow if they would send it to me. She said no I would need to come there and pick the pillow up. I hopefully will be picking my pillow up tomorrow as I drive right past this hotel around the corner to the real only other option in town. YES I will pay double the price but the peace of mind and clean environment will be worth it. read more

There are no do not disturb signs. I did not want my room to be cleaned until I checked out. In result for having no do not disturb signs they entered my room and they stole my alcohol. When I went to the front office to confront them they said "1 minute" and walked to the back room and I heard them open a fridge. Afterwards they said they could not return alcohol because of their policy. Then why check the fridge?! Not getting my service again. If you trust your property I would not go here. read more

There were no bed bugs and the workers there were all very friendly. I spent about 5 nights here on 2 separate occasions recently and when the ac did not work once, it was promptly taken care of for me by 2 very friendly workers.
