Our second time staying at this location. We drove from the DFW area last November and again this past weekend with this motel as our destination before resuming our trip back home to Arizona. No complaints. Nice friendly check-in assistance at the office (even for late arrivals like us). Room was really nice and close to either parking lot. No frills but that's what we expect for the price. Where else can you get a room with decent beds, a nice TV, a fridge, a microwave, and a bathroom with a hot shower for just over $40? COVID-19 precautions were in place and all the employees and other guests we interacted with wore masks. If you're going through the area and need a place to rest I'd recommend it. read more

Looks can be deceiving. Below average motel 6. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard. They didn't supply any shampoo or lotion or anything. The halls smelled musty and old. It looks like someone tried to cover up a dilapidated hotel with some paint and call it a day. I don't think there was any breakfast options, at least that I was aware of. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is that the staff was friendly and the price was decent for the area. Even with the lower price, I recommend staying somewhere else if you want to get a good nights sleep. If you don't care about sleep and just prefer to save money then this place is for you. read more

Stayed here all the time, Clean and pet friendly. But now you got some shady people walking around at night, room smelled, no towels or complimentary shampoo. The saddest part was I ask for a handicap room for my wife only to find out her wheelchair couldn't fit thru the bathroom door. Never going back. I hate giving a bad review when the staff is friendly, but this place was pretty bad. Really great lady who was working the front desk. Was very nice and friendly at check in and when we went into our room and found problems she was very nice to help us. She asked us to switch rooms, but a bunch of people were having a party next to the room so we said it was okay. The room is rundown, messy and the sink was clogged. Also, full of hair that is not ours.. I think for the price it is doable, but honestly not great at all. Wouldn't recommend unless you are only resting, have extra pillows, blankets and need a super cheap place. read more

We planned this trip to stay in a lower cost motel -- we knew it wouldn't be great but oh. my. goodness. This was one of the nastiest rooms I've ever stayed in. The floor was dirty, the bedspreads were OBVIOUSLY dirty (we all know to stay off the bedspreads even in 5 star hotels), the "non-smoking" room reeked of old smoke. The bathroom door was falling apart and the vent on the AC was missing. I have stayed in budget motels for the same price and stars (supposedly this had 3?) that were infinitely better than this. Ratings apparently can't be trusted. Don't stay here -- find something for slightly more expensive down the street, you'll thank yourself later. Trust me. read more

My friend and I enjoy traveling around the southwest but we both have relatively tight budgets, so we chose Motel 6 during our trip to Alamogordo to see the White Sands National Monument. The room we got had a nice clean bedroom area, but the bathroom was a challenge to use. The toilet wasn't flushing right, which made it necessary for us to borrow a plunger from the staff. The hand-held shower's dock kept swinging downward, and the formica was peeling from the small table beside the sink. The motel doesn't offer breakfast, just coffee; but I guess that's one way by which they're able to keep the rates down. read more

Absolutely Scary - Dogs barking in the courtyard, a wrecked abandoned car in the parking lot, mattress too soft, no in room coffee or in lobby. I was told by clerk he would give me a wake up call but there was no phone in room. Hotel staff and other 'guest' looked like parolees. I will never stay at this Motel 6 again and I will be hesitant to stay at another Motel 6. read more

Is it under new own management but they now charge a $50 incidental fees, but no matter what you do you're not gonna get it back they think of any and all excuses why not to give it back to you do not rent for these people they keep discussing at hotel already and then they just charge you so it's $76 plus another 50 for crap it's not worth it is definitely not worth it the worst hotel in Alamogordo for sure. read more

Covers your basics on shelter. The beds were not that comfortable, but better than sleeping in the car. On the first floor, we heard every step and most of the voices from the second floor. The room had a fridge, microwave, and tv. Nothing but soap (no shampoo, etc.) and toilet paper for the bathroom. The towels were okay, but the wash rags/hand towels smelled bad. Presumably, the coffee was removed for COVID, and no other food or beverage is offered here. Also, be careful of the welcome center entrance door; it doesn't open very wide and shuts quickly. My friends and I wanted to take a semi-spontaneous Memorial Day weekend trip down to see White Sands and we chose Motel 6 mostly because of the price (we have tight budgets). We weren't expecting much, we really just wanted someplace clean, but Motel 6 ended up greatly exceeding our expectations! The check in was speedy - in and out in two minutes. The room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable. We had a minifridge, a microwave, and an AC unit in our room and everything worked perfectly well. Some of the appliances were a little bit dated (the TV and the AC), but they still worked well. The women at the front desk were all friendly and helpful and even recommended some dinner places for us. It's not super fancy or anything like that, but it was perfect for our trip and we really enjoyed our time there. We definitely plan on staying there again! read more

PRO clean and decent room with 2 full size beds and bathroom was old but atleast clean. have a mini-fridge and microwave in the room....AC/heater works great.....Only about 15min away from the White Sands National Monuments, and close to shops and gas stations....cheapest around the area.....free coffee and free internet in lobby CON no shampoo, conditioner, no free breakfast.....1st room bathroom light was broken so changed to 2nd room which made things worst =( it was a no smoking room but the room smells horribly smokey had to air it out for about 15 minutes...and the sheets were a bit smokey too =/ would stay here again but they need to clean the rooms and enforce the no smoking in room a bit better~ read more

Walking into a Motel 6 you know it won't be great... but this was BAD. The non-smoking room reeked of old cigarette smoke. The bed covers had cigarette burns, pen marks and random stains all over them. The vent on the AC unit was missing. The walls have visible brown discoloring. There is not one single item in the room that isn't beat up. Oh and if you plan on sleeping? Hope you don't mind the random black dots on the pillows and blankets, the extremely uncomfortable bed and the paper thin walls (I could hear every word of the people spoken on all 3 sides and outside). PROS: - There are locks on the doors - Parking is FREE - Easy access to room - Shower looks neat and easy to use - Plenty of eateries within walking distance (Carino's, Chilli's, Applebees, & Taco Bell) - Pool Access CONS: - I didn't feel safe at all. I felt like we were going to get mugged or our cars would get burglarized. - The bed sheets were itchy!!! - Our TV was very fuzzy - There was NO WI-FI even if it said so online/at their front desk - I would't recommend for families or those with small children read more

Please do not stay here, even if it's just one night. The rooms smell horrible even though it's non smoking, the comforter was extremely stained, there was no cover for the window unit. This place may be cheap but spend the extra money for a better hotel. read more

This is totally an example of you get what you pay for! The sheets on the bed still had stains on them! One of our beds literally had a blood stain on it!!!! The restroom had Beatles crawling around in there..!! The towels were not very white... It just felt dirty as soon as we walked in! Only plus is that we were traveling and just needed a place to lay our heads for a night and it was just $50 bucks and convenient! read more

If I ever ended up in this God forsaken area again, I'd stay here again. Cheap, quiet, had a decent stay, but just knocking it down a star for the fairly large "crater" in my bed an weird shower set up so that when the curtain is opened, all the water rolls off of it onto the floor. read more

We were on our way to Alamogordo and didn't know where to spend the night We googled motels Close by and Motel 6 was fairly priced. We called and a nice lady named Stephanie answered the phone and told us that they have a empty room for the night. The check in experience was super fast it took maybe two minutes. We got into the room the room was clean and the bathroom and shower were clean as well. Just heads up the mattress was firm and I like it but if you don't be aware. My family and I came down to Alamogordo over Memorial Day weekend for a funeral. We booked our hotel through Expedia via venere.com. When we arrived Venere had charged us for the hotel but not transferred the reservation to Motel 6!!!! Every hotel has been booked for graduations, baseball tournaments and Memorial Day traffic. Well the fantastic ladies that run the office here at Motel 6 were livid and jumped on the phone to notify Venere what they did wrong and got our money refunded. They gave us one of their emergency rooms for a cheaper rate than the website and through it all had a great sense of humor. It's one thing to blame one business for not doing their job and letting us fall through the cracks but to take it upon themselves to fix it, that's respectable. read more
