When I'm in need of those odds and ends like a 90 litre storage crate ($19), a new dog bed ($15), utensils of all sorts or any imaginable plastic container, I head straight to Mostly $2 in the new Vogue building.
Some people are afraid to admit that they shop at $2 shops because it damages their reputation but I say, if it does the trick, why pay more? I'm not suggesting you furnish your home here but these clever little stores do offer you a kaleidoscope of options in every size, colour and function. It's not called a variety store for nothing!
Take for instance, dog beds which range in price from $15 up. Pet stores charge about $79 for a small bed so unless your pooch has orthopaedic requirements, why blow your budget!
Check out the wide array of kitchen accessories from water pitchers to glasses to bowls and white china ware. No one is going to judge you if you have matching white bowls and plates from here. And if they do, perhaps you should reconsider your friends list. Harsh yes! But seriously why would you want to pay $100 for a plate when you can buy a dozen for a fraction of that cost.
Also check out their wide assortment of home décor - from bird cages to photo screens to storage baskets and wall hangers. A true decorator can make anything (even from a variety store) look great, after all! read more
