There's a Dixons around the corner, but why bother when you have this gem, with it's cult DVDs and obscure records and an almost official promise that whoever is behind the counter is going to talk to you at length about the record you've just bought. It's a mix of second hand and new stuff, with some memorabilia and paraphernalia as well. Be warned: I can always find something for poochange, but I somehow get sucked into a time vacuum and come out 3 hours later without noticing any time has passed at all.

I say give it another 10 years and it'll be the Dandenong Hub (which is a shell of businesses adjacent to the plaza). Recently going back, this place just doesn't feel safe. It's still busy but I don't understand the need to be here. It's not convenient and there has been a really sad attempt to refurbish the area, making if brighter and adding more stores (which I think will soon close given the lack of foot traffic in some areas). Regardless, I choose to stay away from now on. If you're intent on a shopping trip, head to Fountain Gate or Knox instead. There is absolutely no reason to come here anymore.

Here you can fear for your life in one of the more aggressive shopping centre carparks, chow down on something deep fried for lunch with all the kids skipping school, and bum smokes of some guy tottering about with a bottle in hand. On the plus side, the police regularly patrol the food court, so it's quite safe. On the extra plus side, the shops are filled to the brim with spare change clothes. $2 singlet? I'll just overlook the likely dubious ethical practices that went into making it and enjoy the lack of expense.

At this particular establishment, be prepared to show you proof of purchase before you leave. When I opened the box there was broken glass everywhere. I cut myself on the glass. It was too heavy for me to lift indoors so I had to keep the box in my garden for weeks while I went through the painful process of dealing with their horrible customer services rep Rahul. He was utterly useless from start to finish and took absolutely no responsibility. After many emails and calls (always initiated by myself), I eventually received a refund; however they refused to refund the delivery fee and in order to get the item removed from my garden they expected me to help lift the extemely heavy items into the back of a couriers van, even though I had told them I was 7 months pregnant!!! Absolutely no understanding of my situation and they blamed ME for not helping THEM, so now I'm stuck with a heavy, damaged table in my front garden (broken glass falling out all the time) until I can find someone to help THEM lift it into a couriers van! They refuse to collect it by organising 2 delivery people. Simply appalling in every way. Please NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MELBOURNIANS FURNITURE.

I love this particular Coles because there is heaps of parking available, it's adjacent to the market, there are always good deals going on and there is a great selection of multicultural food that I can buy at any time, because it's always open! Easy to navigate layout, friendly staff at the tills and heaps of product available. This is my go-to Coles when I see a good deal on and I want to stock up or am looking for those ingredients that aren't so common and generally aren't found in other supermarkets.
