Very Knowledgeable and passionate about fitness and nutrition. He will customize your exercises based on individual needs of a person and will help you take your routine to the next level or create a routine if your a newbie. Motivation is key to everyone's success and he makes sure to keep people on their toes and engaged to meet their workout goals. My favorite part is his focus on resistance training without the use of work out machines. He knows what he's doing so I refer him to friends that have a goal to become fit and healthy. Ty and I have known each other for over a year. During that time, We set out on a journey to improve my movement patterns after I had suffered from constant shoulder pain, many muscular imbalances from poor mobility, improper training, and constant computer work that was making living life a struggle day by day. Coupled with this, I also experienced tons of self-confidence issues due to my physical apperance and feeling like I wasn't happy with my image because of how much muscle I had lost from heavy weight training through pain. When Ty and I had first met, I was quite skeptical that he was just another personal trainer at your local gym who gives you basic workouts you can find online and doesn't really cultivate a relationship. However, his dedication to his craft had quickly shown me that he wasn't just a regular trainer at your local gym - his knowledge of fitness is endless and his partnership is unparalleled. Ty Whitley is more than a trainer, he is a phenomenal teacher and coach. He caters a specific workout for you around various tools that might not be familiar to the average gym-goer, teaches you techniques to improve mobility and functional strength, and creates programs to correct any imbalances and become functionally stronger. He is extremely knowledgeable in kinesiology and knows how to finetune areas of weakness and address them head on so that he get you training at your strongest and free of pain. Through injuries I've had, Ty has designed workouts to improve how my body responds to them and got me on a path of feeling pain free. Getting into your best shape is within your grasp if he is by your side. Even when you are not in the gym with him, Ty will keep constant communication with you to ensure you are following a nutrition plan and sending him food logs for feedback to help you build habits and a lifestyle that can KEEP you in your best shape. In other words, he keeps you accountable and making sure you are putting in 100% every step of the way. Ty challenged me mentally and physically to change my habits and improve my well-being through constant coaching and mentorship - all of which he does with ease. As a result, I have been able to stay extremely lean and training pain-free so I can get back to weight training without having to worry about injuring myself through each workout. Ty not only challenges you physically, but he has a knack for creating a partnership and friendship to get your mindset on the right path and teach extremely valuable life lessons. For awhile, I had suffered constant doubt about whether I was ever going to get better due to my condition that constantly put me in a bad mood. I need someone to coach me through workouts and get my mind out of constantly thinking that my body was defunct and will never get back to the way it was before the injuries. I bought a swoop for training sessions where this ONE individual trainer "bit off more then he can chew" as far as being able to schedule me. Additionally, he is very rude! BUYER/CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!! I bought a you swoop for 5 one hour personal training sessions. After SEVERAL calls to schedule an appointment, I finally reached Ty Whitley, the "personal trainer". He stated the you swoop deal included the 1st session that is actually an "assessment" and 4 subsequent 1 hour personal training sessions. Wait a minute! That was NOT stated in the you swoop deal, which Ty argued was indicated in the "fine print". That's a LIE! There was mo fine print, just false advertising. The deal should've indicated 4 sessions, NOT 5!!! 1st session: Ty was late for my "assessment", which lasted approximately 15 minutes and included inappropriate personal questions/comments that had nothing to do with a personal training assessment. That should've been a bright red flag, but hindsight is 20/20! Ty spent more time trying to analyze me and convince me that I needed to commit, AKA pay for additional personal training sessions beyond the you swoop deal, which I refused. 2nd session: My 2nd session with Ty included a 30 minute personal training session and 20 minutes on the treadmill. My 2nd session was almost 2 weeks after the initial "assessment" because I was unable to reach Ty even after leaving SEVERAL messages. 3rd session: The 3rd session included 30 minutes of personal training THEN Ty told me to use the treadmill for the last 30 minutes, which I refused. I stated that I could do the treadmill on my own and instead wanted 1 full hour of personal training. Being told to get on a treadmill for 30 minutes does not constitute personal training! I told Ty I expected 1 full hour of 1on1 personal training, not 30 minutes. Ty stated his 1 hour of personal training includes 30 minutes of 1on1 and 30 minutes on the treadmill. Again, that is NOT what the you swoop deal indicated. More false advertising!!! At this point I was so fed up with Ty's unprofessionalism and BS that I told him 30 minutes will not work for me (especially when the you swoop deal stated 1 hour sessions) and that day would be my last session. Ty stated he would refund me for the unused sessions, but it's been over 1 month and I haven't heard from Ty or received any refund- I won't hold my breath! Ladies, beware! Ty made several sexual innuendos and inappropriate comments during our sessions that I just ignored. I never fed into his inappropriate comments/ gestures because I was there to work out. I should've followed my gut instinct during the initial assessment that Ty is full of BS and never returned, but unfortunately I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Working with Ty was the first time I worked one on one with a personal trainer. What I found was nothing short of life changing. Not only did we work on my personal fitness goals, but Ty helping me completely redesign my eating habits. In addition to physical growth Ty motivates you spiritually to dig into the deeper reason why you're setting your fitness goals in the first place. I've been working on and off with Ty for a number of years, but his value and expertise have never been more apparent to me than this year, when I returned in June from a 30-day pilgrimage across Spain (the famous Camino de Santiago). By the end of my 500-mile trek I was ailing pretty badly, with severe pain in my right knee. When I returned to Chicago I could hardly walk, and I worried I had done lasting damage to my body (I'm 40). I scheduled an MRI to assess the damage, but Ty discouraged me from doing so, knowing for one thing that I was on a strict budget after taking a month off from my job as a low-level social worker, and that an MRI would be prohibitively expensive. More importantly, he knew intuitively that I had no structural damage, but rather pain associated with weeks of stress, misuse, and general weakness in several areas of my body, which led to pain and stiffness in my knee. He encouraged me to participate in short daily workouts with him for a couple of weeks until I regained strength in these areas, believing, correctly, that the pain would subside. Since the pain disappeared--and it has *disappeared*, where once I feared I would never walk well again--I've been working with Ty several times a week to maintain and gain strength, so nothing like it happens again. Ty calls his company Most Motivated, and that should clue you into what you're getting from Ty for your dollar: motivation. In addition to his expertise and intuition--he is a lover and student of the human body--he will never forget about your progress, and takes it upon himself to make sure you continue to work for yourself and your health with regular texts and calls to gauge your level of motivation, reminding you why your body is so important to your happiness. Working out regularly requires discipline. For some of us, myself included, a friendly partner to help us along the journey toward greater physical wellness is essential. I've known Ty for quite some time. I admire his commitment and expertise for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I've seen him with his clients, he's able to get the most stubborn client to reach their goals in an enjoyable way. His fun personality helps one get through even the toughest of workouts. If you want someone to champion you as you reach your weight loss goals, then Ty is the trainer for you. He begins with a consultation and assessment and asks if you're sure ready to commit to a healthier lifestyle. After that he has you do a mix of different workouts with and without machines, in order to customize a workout for you. If you have any injuries, he'll make adjustments. Personally, I've enjoyed Ty's custom workouts that he designed for me, I love that it specifically meets my needs. Now that I live in NYC, Ty is able to train me virtually as well as provide custom workouts for me daily. He also gives me nutritional advice that best complements my workouts and busy schedule. Another thing I love about Ty's workouts is that they use the body, and resistance training, without only relying on machines. I, personally, hate machines. I've never had a problem reaching Ty, our communication has always been consistent. Even as his client base grows, he makes sure that everyone gets their proper attention. As for the other reviewers, I think their problems were a result of the sketchy YouSwoop deal and not Ty. It's unfortunate that others feel that he is unprofessional because that's never been the case with me. read more

I know there are some bad reviews on here but those are from a while ago and obviously a lot has changed since then. My expirence with Ty has been great and I highly recommend him! He is one of the most motivated guys I have ever met and what I think I like most about him is that he is so real. He tells things how they are, not in a mean way but he doesn't sugar coat everything because he wants you to improve and be the best version of yourself, sugar coating doesn't achieve that. I wish there was a way to give zero stars. I bought a youswoop, called to set up my first session and should have known then that this was not going to be a good experience. I had to call multiple times trying to set up said appointment and every time he would answer and say he was busy "getting a haircut" or "with a client" (rather than letting it go to voicemail and returning my messages, since he was obviously too busy to field calls) and he would tell me to call back later. After a month of getting the same run-around every time I called, I was finally able to set up my first appointment with him. I thought even though he was obviously unprofessional and not the best businessman considering the history of answering calls when he was busy but never returning them to set up my appointment like he said he would, at least now I would finally have my foot in the door and it would hopefully be smooth sailing from there on out. I could not have been more mistaken. I showed up for my first training session and was confused and shocked by the entire charade. He never weighed me or asked me what I wanted to work on, etc, but instead spent a good 30 minutes (of the hour long session) telling me how he was the best trainer in Chicago, New York, etc. and how he used to work at the gym I currently go to but was too good for them so he opened his own business, etc. The appointment continued in this unprofessional manner until eventually he had me get up while he looked me up and down, walked around me while checking me out, then had me do a couple of movements which took all of 5 minutes (again, in an hour long training session) before taking me back to his desk and telling me that he needed people who were serious and he wouldn't consider working with anyone who wasn't committed and he wanted me to commit to a year. At this point I told him that I just wanted to do the 5 sessions that I had paid for and take it from there. He wasn't satisfied with this and told me that the youswoop was null & void and that since I worked in the airline industry he wanted me to give him some buddy passes and that he would discount his usual fee of $1000+ for a month of training sessions. He the started to pressure me into telling him what I would be comfortable paying him, keeping the buddy passes in mind. I was in complete shock and reiterated that I only wanted to concentrate on the 5 sessions that I had already paid for, but he kept pressuring me to give him a number and finally ended the session by telling me that he thought $800 a month was a fair deal and a huge discount off his regular price and that he wanted me to go to the ATM--telling me that there was a bank up the street and an ATM down the street at the Walgreens--get out the money, and bring it back to him in an envelope. As you can imagine, I was upset and could barely believe what was happening. I was so relieved to leave, even though I didn't even get a 5 minute workout in what was supposed to be an hour-long training session. However, he did not stop there. Not even an hour after I left the "session", he texted me asking if I got lost and if I would be back soon with the money!!! Needless to say, I did not go back and even though he later said he would honor my youswoop, he never did respond to my attempts to set up my other sessions. This man is despicable and needs to have his "company" shut down! It still infuriates me to this day when I think about everything I went through with him! read more

I tried to train with him... but he kept cancelling my appointments. Other times he would just be running really late. Like 30 minutes late. Once he canceled on me after I waited 25 minutes. This literally happened like 3 times in a row. He acts like he is the only one who is busy... news flash- I am a busy person and my time is valuable, too! I quickly found a new trainer who was way better and takes appointments seriously. read more
